The Riserva version of the famous "Tralcetto" is a modern expression of Montepulciano from Abruzzo - more powerful, denser, but always clear in its style. The 2021 vintage was selectively harvested by hand and aged for 9 months in large wooden barrels after traditional mash fermentation, which gives the wine structure and depth without masking the fruit.

Dense ruby red in the glass with a violet rim - powerful and youthfully lively at the same time. Dark cherry, blackberry and plum on the nose, accompanied by a hint of liquorice, violets and some tobacco. On the palate with juicy fruit, ripe tannin structure and fine spice, plus a well-integrated freshness that makes the wine surprisingly accessible and endearing. The ageing partly in stainless steel and partly in wood lends depth without masking the fruit. A classic representative with high standards: San Clemente comes from selected plots around Bolognano, whose chalky soils give the wine a precise structure and fine salinity. Maturation in stainless steel tanks emphasises the purity of the variety. Straw yellow in the glass with a greenish tinge. The aroma is elegant and typical: white flowers, ripe apple, yellow citrus fruit, a hint of peach and a delicate almond undertone. Dry, fresh and balanced on the palate, with lively acidity and subtle minerality. A fine hint of bitter almond lingers on the finish. A wine with character and maturity: the pure Cabernet Franc Capsico Rosso comes from carefully selected plots in the Colline Pescaresi, where the interplay of sea breezes and cool nights produces powerful yet elegant red wines. The 2018 matured partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in wood - giving it structure, warmth and depth. Dark cherry, blackberry, cassis and a hint of balsamic spice on the nose. Soft and full-bodied on the palate, with supple tannins, a subtle herbal note and a juicy, mineral-accented finish. In the top "San Clemente" line, Zaccagnini takes Montepulciano from Abruzzo to a new level - towards origin, depth and maturity. The 2019 Riserva comes from the Terre di Casauria DOC area, one of the most characterful zones in the region, located between the Majella massif and the Adriatic coast. The vineyards there are located on calcareous and clayey slopes with good drainage and ideal exposure - a terroir that gives the Montepulciano structure, density and balance. The 2019 vintage was selectively harvested, fermented on the skins at a controlled temperature and then matured for around 24 months in a combination of barriques and large wooden barrels. The use of wood remains discreet, accompanying but not dominating.
