Friulano Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2020
Broad aroma of exotic fruits, almond, nut, spicy notes of mint and light aromas of peach, sage, jasmine and white pepper. On the palate balanced, elegant, with good acidity and harmonious complexity, typical bitter almond tone in the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Friulano is wildly fresh yet tropical, with nuances of sour melon, young mango and white smoke forming its attractive bouquet. This impresses further, with lively acidity balancing its silky textures and ripe orchard fruits, with a savory herbal tinge adding unexpected depths. The 2020 is perfumed and fresh through the finale, leaving the mouth watering, but also a gentle tug of residual tension. Very nice." Vinous

“Curubella” Pinot Grigio Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2018
Livio Felluga's new crus come from massal selection. For this purpose, selected vines are reproduced in particularly advantageous locations in order to renew vineyards with especially high-quality vines and to further improve the quality of individual varietal wines.
Named after the small Curubella vineyard, this Pinot Grigio expresses the unique and very expressive terroir in a very special way. Golden yellow with copper-coloured reflections, which are the result of a longer maceration period. On the nose, autumnal notes of medlar, jasmine and white pepper, rounded off by elderberry, marjoram, melon and orange zest. On the firm palate, powerful and expressive of candied fruit, spice with floral elements. In the long finish then traces of acacia honey and pastry. Complex and deep with a very clear personality, freshness and beautiful minerality. SUPERIORE.DE

“Sigar” Friulano Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2018
Livio Felluga's new crus come from massal selection. For this purpose, selected vines are reproduced in particularly advantageous locations in order to renew vineyards with especially high-quality vines and to further improve the quality of individual varietal wines.
Livio Felluga often stood in the evening twilight, his gaze fixed on the sky, with a cigar, watching the weather. The Friulano vines from which this cru comes were planted as early as 1963, producing medium-sized, loose-grained grapes. Yeast ageing and maturation in terracotta tanks give Sigar its depth and pronounced spiciness and minerality. Golden yellow with greenish nuances. In the complex bouquet fine saffron spice, candied lemon peel, dried apricots and lemon peel. The drink is grippy, compact and fresh with a seductive spiciness and salty note, then balsamic notes in the long finish. SUPERIORE.DE

“Potentilla” Sauvignon Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2018
Livio Felluga's new cru wines are the result of massal selection. For this purpose, selected vines are reproduced in particularly advantageous locations in order to renew vineyards with especially high-quality vines and to further improve the quality of individual varietal wines.
The grapes for this very characterful and complex Sauvignon Bianco come from vines planted as early as 1975. It captivates with its creamy texture and, due to the four weeks of malolactic fermentation followed by nine months of barrel ageing. Pure gold in the glass with rich yellow nuances. Opens with summery scents of rose and boxwood, then physalis, passion fruit, nettle, pickled peach and a delicate coriander note. Supple on the palate, of great elegance with complex sweetness, exoticism and citrus fruit. The wood is well integrated and underlines the aristocratic character of this exceptional wine. “Abbazia di Rosazzo” Bianco Rosazzo DOCG 2017
Rich cuvée from the white grape varieties of Friuli. The bouquet of white flowers and yellow fruits has a pleasant smoky note. In the taste opulent flavours of yellow and white fruits, dried apricots and honey, the balanced acid gives backbone and structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Livio Felluga 2017 Rosazzo Abbazia di Rosazzo is a beautiful choice made from a carefully contemplated blend of Friulano, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla. The wine is balanced and bountiful with orchard fruit, peach, honey and Golden Delicious apple. There is so much intensity and brightness here, and each one of the individual grapes fits together with jigsaw puzzle precision. The warm vintage adds softness, extra density and concentration. But the wine is elegant, fresh and mineral-driven nonetheless. If you are looking for a benchmark white from Friuli, look no further." Robert Parker
"Aromas of pear skin, waxed lemon, dried pineapple, yoghurt and sea salt. It’s medium-to full-bodied with tangy acidity and a waxy texture. Fantastic concentration and phenolic texture. Beautifully layered with a mineral, saline finish. Long and complex." James Suckling

Terre Alte is made from Tocai Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Bianco. Its bouquet is rich and intense, with notes of vanilla, banana, spices and tomato. The taste is equally balanced and persistent. The previous year's vintage was rightly named "White Wine of the Year 2022" in the Gambero Rosso! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Terre Alte Rosazzo captivates, as crushed stone and underbrush evolve into a pretty mix of lime-tinged granny smith apple and savory herbs. This is rich, almost glycerol-like in feel, yet with a core of zesty acidity and salty minerals that perfectly balances it all out. Tropical florals and hints of tangerine mix with candied citrus, young mango and an inner smokiness adding further intrigue, as this finishes with persistence and tension, just begging for a short stay in the cellar. Tasted twice, the 2019 is simply stunning and full of potential." Vinous

“Eremita” Pignolo di Rosazzo Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2011
It is reported that the hermit Alemanno chose the hill of Rosazzo as his spiritual retreat in the year 800. Here, about 200 years later, the Augustinians taught the local population the principles of agriculture. It is also here that the Pignolo grape variety can be traced back to the end of the 18th century. Sensitive and low-yielding, it had almost disappeared by the end of the 19th century and was rediscovered and recultivated in Rosazzo.
In 1983, a massal selection of a biotype with characteristically small grapes in the shape of pine cones was planted below the wall of the Antico Belvedere. The material, which is available in very small quantities, is matured in second-age barriques, which tames the naturally strong tannins and makes the wine supple.
Medium, deep garnet red with dark reflections. Expansive, intense and extremely complex bouquet of dried plum, red blackberry, sour cherry jam and tamarind, carried by cigar box aromas, followed by hints of blueberry, rhododendron blossom, bracken, violet and elderberry. With further aeration then black pepper, clove, incense, cherry, coffee and cinnamon. On the palate, the exuberant, sheer overwhelming impressions continue with complex and spicy nuances. In addition, there is an impressive freshness and the typical, present tannin, which, however, never seems too obtrusive, but forms a perfect unity together with the great concert of aromas. With further aeration in the glass, one gets an approximate impression of the imposing fullness and complexity of an exceptional Pignolo, which is not without reason one of the terrificred wines in Italy and leads one on an unforgettable journey of enjoyment until the very last sip. This name is cult in the Italian wine industry. Even though the next two generations have long since successfully managed the winery, Livio Felluga will probably remain a role model for several more generations. After all, he was the driving force and innovator for the entire Friuli wine region for decades.
When he settled here in the Collio, in Brazzano near Cormons, in 1956, he had two world wars including captivity behind him, the home of his childhood in Istria had sunk into the sea, the wine trade of his ancestors no longer existed and the once proud southern region of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy was unnaturally divided by peace treaties, was thus partly in the "Eastern Bloc" and was largely abandoned by the population. But Livio Felluga saw a future in the hills of Rosazzo, founded a small winery, built an advanced cellar with growth potential, recultivated abandoned vineyards and planted new ones - and over the decades built up one of the most successful and internationally renowned wineries in Italy. There is practically no award that his wines have not received, and he himself has been honoured with honorary degrees, becoming Doctor h.c. of the University of Udine and "Patriarch of Friulian Viticulture". He died in 2016 at the age of 102.
The label he designed himself, which shows the estate's vineyards, lives on, as does his philosophy of quality. He still focuses on a mix of different grape varieties that Livio Felluga found "suitable for the land", whether autochthonous such as (Tokai) Friulano, Picolit, Ribolla Gialla or Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, as well as "international". For he quickly recognized that Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay were already at home here before the Second World War, as were Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The focus is on elegant white wines such as "Terre Alte" from Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon or "Illivio" from a selection of the best Pinot Bianco grapes, as well as Chardonnay and Picolit. For some years now, the "Wine of Roses" from the vineyards belonging to the historic Abbazia di Rosazzo Monastery, leased by the Felluga family, has also been included in the range, where old vines from Friulano, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla are cultivated and used only for this top quality wine. With the "Sossó" of Merlot, Refosco and Pignolo, however, Livio Felluga was able to positively surprise many a Bordeaux or Brunello lover in the early 1990s. SUPERIORE.DE
