    • "Illivio" Bianco Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2017

“Illivio” Bianco Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2017

Illivio belongs indisputably to the luxury class of white wines. Pressed from Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Picolit, with complex aromas of sweet fruit and fresh spices, it reflects the enormous potential of its origins. Optimal in its taste structure, the balanced acidity and the persistent aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE

"Good straw color. Clean fresh and pure, with white peach, flower and lemony aromas and flavors. Long and saline. This is not at all as oaky as in past vintages. The finish echoes long with hints of peach, nectarine and herbs." Vinous

    • "Abbazia di Rosazzo" Bianco Rosazzo DOCG 2016

“Abbazia di Rosazzo” Bianco Rosazzo DOCG 2016

A delicate cuvée from the white grape varieties of Friuli. The bouquet of white flowers and yellow fruits has a pleasant smoky note. In the taste rich aromas of baked apple, dried apricots and honey, the balanced acidity gives backbone and structure. SUPERIORE.DE

"Straw-green with golden tinges. Initially reduced and closed down, opens slowly with aeration to offer delicately balsamic and herbal strokes to the apple and white peach notes on both the nose and in the mouth. A big, dense, very youthfully closed brooding giant white wine that needs time." Vinous

    • Picolit Colli Orientali del Friuli DOCG 2011 <br>in Gift Box

Picolit Colli Orientali del Friuli DOCG 2011 · in Gift Box

Fellugas Picolit is an exemplary example and explains the popularity and reputation of this rare and traditional sweet wine. Golden yellow colour, wonderful scent of honey, white flowers and ripe tropical fruits. The sweet and rich taste is characterized by pleasant viscosity and perfect balance. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright medium golden-yellow. Apple, peach and honey are complicated by white flower notes on the lively nose. Then similar flavors to the aromas, with a suave, light-bodied mouthfeel on entry that turns a bit tannic and chewy with aeration. Finishes long with repeating notes of floral honey and juicy orchard fruit. I like this wine’s balance and suave mouthfeel, but those who remember Livio Felluga’s very thick, viscous, rich Picolit wines of the late 90s and early 21st century will be surprised by the stylistic change this wine has undergone. Andrea Felluga told me he now prefers making a less syrupy sweet wine." Ian d’Agata (vinous.com)

"This is one of my favorite Italian dessert wines, but I have not tasted it in a while. It's very nice to be back in front of the 2011 Colli Orientali del Friuli Picolit (in a 500-milliliter bottle). This is a gorgeous wine: so delicate, so fresh, so teeming with life and spirit. Aromas of honey, candied orange peel and lightly toasted almond come bursting from the bouquet. It is impossible to compare Picolit to Italy's other sugar-heavy dessert wines. This rare grape makes for a wine that is so much more elegant and tight, and it expertly navigates any cloying or overtly sweet sensations. I just love it." Robert Parker

“Sosso” Rosso Riserva Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC 2015 · 6 Bottles in OWC

Sossò - the house's top red wine - made from Refosco, Merlot and Pignolo is enchanting with its warm, sunny scent physiognomy of candied citrus fruits, dried roses, mint and cream. The extremely articulated taste shoulders a convincing portion of tannin and yet steers into an intensely fruity final with grandiose length. SUPERIORE.DE

    About the winemakers
    Livio Felluga
    Friuli
    Livio Felluga

The history of the Livio Felluga family began at the beginning of the 20th century on the Istrian peninsula - at that time still part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy - with agriculture and viticulture. After Livio, born in Isola in 1914, first lived in the then still young Italian kingdom, he made stops on the rocky coast of Istria and, immediately after the end of the First World War, in the lagoon of Grado at the extreme end of the Gulf of Venice. Eventually the family moved to the hills in the east of Friuli. In the following years, Livio has made the family estate of Brazzano in the municipality of Cormòns, the capital of the Collio, one of the most influential cellars in the region. The elderly winemaker has long enjoyed the very high reputation of a „patriarchs“ the viticulture and the wine business. In the meantime, the four children Maurizio, Elda, Andrea and Filippo have taken over the management of the important heritage with the same passion. The unmistakable trademark of Livio Felluga is the historical map with all the vineyards of the house, designed by the founder himself and depicted on the labels of the wines.

Already when he fulfilled his dream in the 1950s by buying the first sites near the historic Abbey of Rosazzo, Livio was fully aware of the exceptional quality of the site with its ideal marl and sandstone soils. From then on, the founder, who received a doctorate from the University of Udine „honoris causa“ in viticulture, oenology and wine marketing, has not made any effort to consistently implement his vision of top Friulian wines and to make his own experience available to the winegrowers of the region. Livio Felluga's vine varieties in the best hills of the Collio and the Colli Orientali range from numerous indigenous grape varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, (Tocai) Friulano or Picolit to international varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, a total of 155 hectares of vineyards are cultivated.

The Felluga family always aims to express the typical characteristics of the grape varieties in elegant, fresh and always perfectly balanced wines, whether pure or blended. Their commitment and craftsmanship in winemaking are reflected in many top ratings. Only a few producers in northern Italy are so often awarded the coveted "Three glasses" of the most important Italian wine guide Gambero Rossolike this long-established Friulian wine house. SUPERIORE.DE

"The barrel matured Terre Alte from Friulano, Pinot bianco and Sauvignon bianco is rightly highly appreciated, and the Picolit are usually a pleasure (apart from their steep price). Everything here is of the best quality.“ The Great Johnson
