Vertigo is a modern, red classic from Friuli that impresses with its elegance and structure in equal measure. The vines are rooted in the famous "Flysch di Cormòns" - calcareous marl and sandstone formations that give the wine its subtle minerality. The colour in the glass is a bright straw yellow with golden reflections. The aroma is fine and complex: white peaches, ripe pears, some citrus zest, complemented by floral notes and a hint of roasted hazelnut. Dry, smooth and structured on the palate, with well-integrated acidity and elegant length. Illivio is a subtle bridge between Friuli's autochthonous self-image and international nobility - a cuvée of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Picolit, named after the charismatic founder of the estate, Livio Felluga, who sadly passed away in 2017. The vines grow on the characteristic Ponca soils of the Collio - marly, calcareous layers that lend the wines tension, minerality and depth. The 2022 vintage brought ideal conditions: a warm, sunny summer without extreme heat and a dry autumn ensured perfectly ripe, aromatically complex grapes.

The extremely articulate flavour shoulders a convincing tannin portion and yet steers into an intensely fruity final with terrificlength. Livo Felluga's second top cuvée Abbazia di Rosazzo is closely linked to the abbey of the same name, a centuries-old centre of Friulian wine culture. The blend of Friulano, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Ribolla Gialla comes from steep vineyards with marl and sandstone soils. The climate between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Sea ensures warm days, cool nights and a long growing season – ideal conditions for aromatic precision and elegant acidity. The 2019 vintage brought a balanced ripeness with cool minerality and fine structure. After being harvested by hand, the wine was matured on the fine lees, partly in stainless steel and partly in wood, giving it depth and complexity.

Terre Alte is a masterpiece of Friulian white wine artistry – a wine that has been setting standards since its first cuvée in 1981. The combination of Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon from the best vineyards around Rosazzo is condensed here into a vinological ideal of the Collio.

A jewel among Italian sweet wines: Picolit is one of the country's great rarities - an autochthonous grape variety whose low yields are due to natural trickling. It was already in demand at royal courts in the 18th century, but today it is only cultivated on a few hectares. Livio Felluga's Picolit 2019 from the Colli Orientali del Friuli comes from select parcels with poor marl and sandstone soils that provide finesse and salty freshness. The late-harvested, selected grapes are partly dried on straw mats. The wine is matured for many months in small oak barrels.

It is reported that the hermit Alemanno chose the hill of Rosazzo as his spiritual retreat in the year 800. Around 200 years later, the Augustinians taught the local population the principles of agriculture here. The Pignolo grape variety can also be traced back to this place until the end of the 18th century. Sensitive and low-yielding, it had almost disappeared by the end of the 19th century and was rediscovered and re-cultivated in Rosazzo.
