“Massifitti” Trebbiano Veronese IGT 2021 (BIO)
Massifitti is a great white wine, without question! It is so fine and silky that you can sense beautiful ashy flint notes and crushed minerals on the finish. The Trebbiano di Soave Massifitti is soft and supple with a generous bouquet that exudes citrus, peach and honeydew melon. It shows its clear definition and dimension here, and the Tessari sisters from Suavia have created a wine in a class of its own. Vinification takes place in stainless steel with 15 months maturation on the lees. SUPERIORE.DE

“Monte Carbonare” Soave Classico DOC 2022 (BIO)
Monte Carbonare comes from red volcanic iron soils with plenty of black basalt in the centre. Six hectares of 60-70 year old vines in cooler sites, which continue to rise to the crème de la crème of the top sites as the climate warms. A richer wine than the younger Classico, but without the same cheeky vitality. While the Classico is an unbeatable everyday wine, the Monte Carbonare is a complex wine that demands food and a little more contemplation. Mirabelle plum, apricot pit, a hint of dried mango and plenty of smoky, sharp mineral grip, with dutiful freshness that brings marvellous length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Golden light yellow; yeasty-fruity notes; round, full-bodied, yeasty, complex and deep, juicy acidity, length, drinky." (JLF) Merum
"A serious and very precise Soave with subtle citrus flavours and notes of orange blossom, hay and crushed stones. Finely balanced and concentrated, with a medium body and fine texture. Spicy and exciting with a gentle phenolic note and a hint of lemon peel and ginger on the finish." James Suckling

“Le Rive” Bianco Veronese IGT 2019 (BIO)
The aromas of citrus fruit, almonds and exotic fruit are impressive in Le Rive. Its flavour is soft and powerful, with a wonderful freshness right into the long finish. A wonderful, elegant wine that once again puts the three sisters at the forefront of their region. SUPERIORE.DE
"The oldest vines of the estate at 85-years-old. The warmest site, south-facing. While palpably dry, the fruit becomes intuitively tropical of nature by virtue of the site's proclivity for later harvesting. Thus, the 'Vendemmia Tardiva' nomenclature. The only wine at this address that sees oak (large, neutral French), handled beautifully as a buttress for the teeming fruit, laced with gingery spice across a long, bolshy finish." James Suckling

“Le Rive” Bianco Veronese IGT 2021 (BIO)
Le Rive is a single-varietal Garganega made from grapes harvested late from volcanic soils. On the nose, the aromas of citrus fruit, almonds and exotic fruit are impressive. Its flavour is soft and powerful, with a wonderful freshness right through to the long finish, combined with an ebb and flow of minerals. A wonderful and highly distinctive wine with which the three sisters have once again put themselves at the forefront of their region. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Garganega Le Rive 2021 is a real treat for the nose. A bouquet of honeyed flowers gives way to dried apricots and peaches, embellished by an enriching note of lemon custard. It opens with a balanced inner sweetness that reveals lush, ripe stone fruit and a hint of candied lemon layered over a silky texture. On the long and dramatic final, the 2021 remains coloured in its primary concentration on the palate, lingering with its citrus notes while the mouth demands more. Le Rive is certainly not shy, but the balance is fantastic. Make sure you keep a few bottles in the cellar." Vinous
"This silky white's ripe and juicy flavors of pineapple, melon and guava fruit are well-defined by sleek acidity, with a zesty thread of pink grapefruit peel and ground ginger. Hints of creamed almond and spun honey enrich the fruit profile, while the finish is long and minerally." Wine Spectator
"An 85-year-old parcel opposite Carbonare, harvested late and fermented in tonneaux. The resemblance to a fine white Burgundy is striking. Notes of tangerine, apricot kernel and camomile are underpinned by a racy, stony freshness. A brilliant wine that hints at sweetness but finishes dry, mineral and powerful. From organically grown grapes." James Suckling

“Opera Semplice” Metodo Classico VSQ dosaggio zero (BIO)
Pure naturalness from Trebbiano di Soave, without dosage and without the addition of foreign sulphites. The Opera Semplice, produced using the classic bottle fermentation method, plays with fruity, yeasty notes, has a complex mineral side, is excellently structured and at the same time fresh and flavoursome. Sparkling wine purists will shout "Bravo"! SUPERIORE.DE
"The Trebbiano Soave Classico Opera Semplice is remarkably pretty, wafting up with honeyed florals, freshly sliced peaches and chamomile. This washes across the palate with a soothing bead of mineral-tinged bubbles as a contrast of tart green apples and sweet spices cascade across the palate. This finishes wickedly fresh yet with a rich note of raw almond as a reverberation of residual acidity maintains marvelous freshness. This is simply stunning. The Zero dosage Opera Semplice is produced using Metodo Classico and without any sulfur." Vinous

“Selezione Vini Vulcanici I Luoghi” Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO) · 3 bottles in gift box
Just 500x sets of 3 of these three exceptional site wines go on sale worldwide with each vintage. We are pleased to present this strictly limited wine journey through the volcanic terroir of the Soave Classico area exclusively in Germany:
There are special places (Italian: luoghi) where the sun and wind behave in an unusual way, where the soil has a different colour and the plants follow their own rhythm. The ancient Romans also knew this and believed that these places were alive, inhabited by a supernatural being, the "genius loci", which determined their character. The three new sites-Soave Fittà, Castellaro and Tremenalto-are among them: They are places that have always been considered particularly suitable for viticulture in the Soave Classico region due to their unique soil characteristics and microclimate, so much so that they have now been officially recognised and included in the production regulations as "UGA" (Additional Geographical Units).
The three Tessari sisters recognised the potential of their volcanic soils in the Soave Classico region early on. For many years, their wines have been among the best that the region produces every year. In recent years, they have identified three small parcels, from which three single-varietal Garganega wines are being sold for the first time today with the 2020 vintage: Fittà, Castellaro and Tremenalto Soave Classico DOC 2020. They were all vinified in the same way, but each embodies the differences of the respective terroir and microclimate and at the same time the richness and diversity of the volcanic soils formed over 20 million years ago. The basaltic rock that makes up these soils has been undisturbed at depth for thousands of years and has dissolved to such an extent that the roots of the vines can easily penetrate it and also assimilate it.
But is it only the soil that determines the uniqueness of a wine? No, it is rather the place to which it belongs, in its entirety, of which the soil is a very important element, but not the only one. A place is made up of its peaks and valleys, its forests, trees and vineyards, a place is also made up of its inhabitants, its people and animals, its climate, the sun, the water and the wind and all these things that interact in a complex, unique and sometimes mysterious equation.
And that's the really brilliant thing about the three strictly limited wines - they embody exactly the essence of the place they come from. SUPERIORE.DE
1 bottle à 0,75l | Fittà Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO)
The vineyard of about 1 hectare is located on the ridge that connects the village of Fittà with the slopes of Monte Castellaro. It is situated on a slightly hilly, south-facing area and comprises a short, stepped slope that descends to the east towards a small cut in the ridge. The subsoil consists of altered basalt volcanite. Two different soil types have been identified here: The first is highly developed and structured, the second is influenced by the slope and indicates a versatile variety of highly altered basaltic rock. The vines were planted as early as the 1940s and are now on average 80 years old.
"This is really serious Soave with loads of candied, licoricy character to the bright peach flesh and peach skin. Medium-to full-bodied with chalky tannins. The finish is long and rapier-like, unleashing the barest floral and stone fruit persuasions. Time will surely help this. Stay tuned!" James Suckling
James Suckling: 95 points
1 bottle à 0,75l | Castellaro Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO)
The Castellaro vineyard consists of a small parcel located on the slopes of the mountain, on the northern slope that rises towards the village of Fittà. The altitude is between 200 and 220 metres above sea level, with a slope of 10-20%. The subsoil consists of altered basalt volcanite. In the Castellaro vineyard, a moderately deep soil has been identified, characterised by a stony profile and cultivated throughout its depth. The vines were planted in the early 1970s and are now over 50 years old.
"A mineral voltage kicks off proceedings, doused with the white pepper and jasmine that often marks great Soave. Flecks of stone fruit, subtle and cool of aura. Extended time on lees (12 months) promotes tension. Toasted almond and raw pistachio, too. This has wonderful thrust of energy and sublime tension. Needless to say, the finish is very long. Among the finest white wines in Italy." James Suckling
James Suckling: 95 points
1 bottle à 0,75l | Tremenalto Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO)
The Tremenalto vineyard is located in the Moscatello area, on a west-facing slope with a total area of about 2 hectares. The area called Tremenalto consists of a series of slopes and small valleys that join the Alpone valley to the north of the village of Fittà. The altitude ranges from about 80 to 130 m above sea level, the average slope is 25 %, with extremes of 5 and 40 %. The subsoil consists of metamorphosed basalt volcanite, the vines were planted in the early 1960s and are now over 60 years old. Three different soil types with very different characteristics have been identified in the Tremenalto vineyard, reflecting the diversity of the basaltic rocks and the different intensity of the slope processes to which they have been subjected: the first, strongly reddened by oxidative processes of mineral alteration; the second, deep and developed, on an undulating surface that has been essentially spared erosion; and the third, strongly eroded, shallow and clearly modelled by human activity.
"The ripest and fleshiest wine of the bunch. Clay. Quince marmalade, candied orange zest, dried mango and pineapple chunks. Broad and textural. As reliant on a broad sweep of phenolics across the palate, as it is on an underlying skein of freshness. A big wine, built for an open mind and a diverse table." James Suckling

Suavia is the ancient name for the famous wine village of Soave. This name alone shows the traditional connection of the Tessari family with their northern Italian homeland. Just as deeply rooted in the terroir are the idiosyncratic and autochthonous grape varieties Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, the only grape varieties cultivated by the winegrowing family on twelve hectares of vineyard land. After grafting in the cellar of this fascinating Veneto family business, which has risen almost unnoticed in the regional hierarchy, these fruits have an unmistakable expressiveness. Giovanni and Rosetta Tessari, who took over the farm, which is situated on a natural terrace in the picturesque village of Fittà, are now an experienced winemaking couple working only in the background. Today, the winery is run by their daughters Alessandra, Arianna, Meri and Valentina, who are highly skilled and determined to work hard. The four young sisters give outsiders the impression that they live in perfect interaction and harmony with their environment.
The vineyards of the small Suavia winery, cultivated with great sensitivity, heart and mind, are located in the higher hills of Fittà, in the heart of the Soave country. They reach heights of around 300 metres. The plants, most of which are well over fifty years old, grow in very good locations on copper-red, black and grey soils full of basalt and other volcanic rocks. The subsoil contains essential mineral trace elements such as manganese and zinc. In addition to the exceptional soil, the climatic conditions in this growing area are particularly favourable. The warmth of the day is quickly replaced by a cool breeze after dark.
The rich and amazingly original Soave wines are given ample time to age by the female quartet, out of great respect for their historical raw materials. The terroir-true plants captivate with finesse, clarity and a great elegance. In addition, as a result of successful experiments, a few more drops are being pressed in the family business, which is intended to discover the full potential of traditional grape varieties. The Tessari family, unlike some large wineries and cooperatives, has never given in to the commercial pressures of the market and has produced wines that are above all cheap and uncomplicated. The sisters also do not feel an excessive urge for higher growth. Rather, as members of a family whose roots in the wine-growing region go back to the 19th century, they would like to write their personal wine history of the Soave. SUPERIORE.DE
