In 1991, Luca and Valeria Orsini gave up their work in Milan to produce wine in Tuscany. Their winery comprises 10 hectares of south-east facing vineyards in Panzano and the wines have been certified organic since 2000. This outstanding Annata opens discreetly on the nose with subtle scents of cherry blossom, heather and roses. On the palate, it is decidedly red-fruited with redcurrants and raspberries, embraced by finely structured, powdery and persistent tannins. This fine Olio di Oliva Extra Vergine from Le Cinciole comes from Panzano and exclusively from organic cultivation. Four authentic varieties combine to create a multi-layered flavour: Frantoio, Moraiolo, Corregiolo and Leccino. Once the fruit has reached optimum ripeness, it is carefully harvested by hand and gently cold-pressed in the oil mill within 48 hours.

An effort that is not only reflected in the diverse flavours: The appearance is juicy green with golden reflections. The flavour of this olive oil is sparkling clean and lingering. For Camalaione, owners Luca Orsini and Valeria Viganò blend Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah and Merlot, an approach that works very well here.
