“Vigna del Rolat” Friulano Collio DOC 2018
Every year Dario's top wine: Intense, very elegant bouquet of apple and almond, an extremely complex fruit on the palate; fresh, powerful, rich and with beautiful citrus-fruity length and mineral vein. SUPERIORE.DE
"The beautiful Raccaro 2018 Collio Friulano Rolat delivers a very precise and immediate bouquet that is reinforced by the smooth fiber and creaminess of the mouthfeel. Friuliano delivers aromas of moderate neutrality with pear, melon and Golden Delicious apple. This expression shows some floral hints with honey and white rose. The wine feels like silk to the palate, and it would pair nicely with a delicate fish dinner." Robert Parker
"Yellow spring flowers, apricot and crushed botanical herb waft out of the glass on this savory white, along with yeasty, inviting whiffs of fresh bread dough. The enveloping, medium-bodied palate picks up where the nose left off, delivering ripe pear, unsweetened lemon drop candy, saline and white almond alongside tangy acidity. A fennel note lingers on the finish." Wine Enthusiast

Merlot “Focus - Zuc di Volpe” Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2013
The single-varietal Merlot Focus beguiles with its elegant aroma of red fruits and warm, balsamic tones. The fresh taste is characterised by the typical spiciness and the lively tannins of a high-quality and rare Merlot from the Colli Orientali. SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful ruby red with a slightly lightening rim. Compact and noble nose of blackcurrants, some cassis and green pepper underlined by light white pepper. Finely spicy and powerful on the palate, stretches wide on grippy tannin, medium structure, has character, long." Falstaff
"This is extremely pretty with licorice, blackberry and walnut character. Full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Dusty texture." James Suckling
"Vivid full ruby. Bright and fresh on the nose and in the mouth, with savory and juicy nuances of dark plum, coffee, mint and cocoa. Finishes crisp and vibrantly fruity, with no green notes. A very FVG version of Merlot far removed from Pomerol but fine and juicy, with enticing purity and precision of Merlot fruit." Vinous

Radici Taurasi DOCG 2012
The Aglianico di Taurasi grape variety represents the history and culture of Irish viticulture like no other. Mastroberardino's Taurasi never disappoints expectations and maintains its energetic personality and full-bodied structure that have made it and the Aglianico grape - also called Barolo of the South - famous throughout the world.
Only after a few years of well-deserved bottle ageing does the true potential of the Radici Taurasi become apparent. Opulent, warm bouquet of cherries and black berries, plus spicy and wild herbal notes. On the palate, it is finely meshed, elegant and envelopingly silky, the fullness and complexity of this Aglianico thrills with every sip. Even if it can still mature for many years, it is already an unforgettable pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2012 Taurasi Radici is still in the process of integrating. Under that sweet spice and toast, you definitely get a clear glimpse of the pretty fruit below. Morello cherry and dried blackberry give substance and fiber to the core of this robust red wine." Robert Parker
"Black-walnut, blackberry and black-olive aromas follow through to a full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Very rich and intense." James Suckling
"Underbrush, red fruit, dark spice and a whiff of menthol are some of the aromas that come together on this. The firmly structured elegant palate offers ripe plum, red cherry, licorice and tobacco framed in youthfully austere fine-grained tannins that need time to unwind." Wine Enthusiast
"Lovely hints of spice box, graphite and violet accent the pure black currant and black cherry fruit in this harmonious, full-bodied red. There's good density to this focused version, with savory wild herb and tarry mineral details showing on the creamy, lingering finish." Wine Spectator

“Pernice” Pinot Nero Provincia di Pavia IGT 2013
As early as 1865, the first 1,850 Pinot Noir vines were brought to Italy from Burgundy by Count Vistarino. Since then, the vinification of this demanding grape variety has been continually refined by generations. Today, the Pinot Noir Noirs of the dynasty of winegrowers can even outshine much more expensive Pinot Noirs from Burgundy at international tastings.
Pernice comes from the single vineyard of the same name and fascinates with its fine fragrance and elegance. Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose complex and rich with notes of violets and small red fruits, some roasted coffee and cocoa. On the palate elegant, full-bodied, with present fruit, very balanced with a pleasant minerality and a long, spicy finish. The harmonious tannins make this wine elegant and give it a good backbone from start to finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Perfumed with fragrant spice and smoky mineral notes, this dense and chewy Pinot is fresh and appealing. Medium-bodied, with a core of ripe raspberry and mulberry fruit, Earl Grey tea and tar notes that expands on the finish." Wine Spectator

“Cuvée Anniversario” Primitivo di Manduria Riserva IGP 2010 in Gift Box
Deep dark ruby with radiant edge. Animating bouquet of red berries, cherries and exotic herbal spices. On the palate a captivating tension between extract sweetness, acidity and a surprisingly cool fruit component, which gives this exceptional wine an impressive personality and elegance. Blindly tasted, this red wine would hardly be identified as a typical Primitivo di Manduria - here the team around Gregory Perrucci has succeeded in creating a great wine! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, bright garnet red. Tender nose, ripe raspberries, some pomegranate. Smooth and round on the palate, unfolds with unexpected elegance, fine-meshed tannin, reverberates for a long time. Falstaff
"Very pale and sweet and charming. Very Pinot-esque – quite different from other wines. Red cherries and ripeness. 2010 saw lots of sirocco and bigger grapes and high yields. Lisa Gilbee admires his courage and experimentation. The fact that the wine was on the skins for so long may have reabsorbed the colour – a technique usually used for Nebbiolo." Jancis Robinson
"Good deep, bright red. Sexy red cherry, iron, violet, earth tones, and Asian spices on the captivating nose, with a mineral component building with air. Sweet and plush but with penetrating, harmonious laser-like acidity really lifting and extending the red cherry, sweet spice, and floral flavors. A beauty, finishing long and smooth as silk; so light on its feet it is almost Pinot Noiresque. This was the first vintage ever of this wine, created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first ever Primitivo made by Felline; it has been made only a second time since, in the 2016 vintage." “Don Antonio” Nero d’Avola Sicilia IGT 2004
An exciting rarity: original wine from the private stocks of the winery. Intensely red in the glass, interspersed with dark orange reflections. The aroma of ripe red berries and oriental spices is captivating. Elegance, finesse and persistence characterise the taste, which lies densely across the palate and reveals a beautiful fruit, silky tannins and a characterful note of maturity despite its older age. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2004 Nero d'Avola Don Antonio is a selection made from the estate's finest fruit and aged for 12 months in French oak. This beautiful red presents an attractive array of smokiness, tar and dark plums/prunes with outstanding length, well-integrated oak and finessed tannins. Made in a rich, concentrated style, it needs a few years in bottle before it expresses its maximum potential. Brothers Carmelo and Giovanni Morgante named the wine in honor of their father, Antonio Morgante." Vinous

“Don Antonio” Nero d’Avola Sicilia DOC 2012
A classic from the centre of the island: Don Antonio 2012 is characterised by its full berry fruit aroma and notes of spicy herbs and flowers. Full-bodied and smooth with a lot of character and a beautiful long forest fruit finish. Surprises with its elegance despite all its structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Finely meshed and harmonious, with a skein of spice unraveling through the plumped cherry, smoke, mocha and herbes de Provence flavors. The lightly chewy tannins are supple on the juicy finish." Wine Spectator
"Boldly structured, this brawny wine opens with aromas of mature black-skinned fruit, exotic spice and a whiff of toasted oak. The generous, chewy palate offers fleshy black cherry, raspberry, licorice, cinnamon and cocoa alongside velvety tannins. You'll also detect the warmth of alcohol but the dense fruit richness easily supports it." Wine Enthusiast
"Previously an IGT wine, Morgante's Don Antonio is now a Sicilia DOC. The 2012 Sicilia Nero d'Avola Don Antonio offers one of the most beautiful and complete portraits of this promising indigenous grape from southern Italy. This is an elaborate wine with a strong oak imprint that has done much to soften and smooth out any of the grape's rough edges. The bouquet reveals dark fruit, spice, tobacco and wet earth or terra-cotta. The wine's concentration is bold and richly layered." Robert Parker

“Rosso del Conte” Contea di Sclafani DOC 2012
Ruby red, with a fine cherry scent, in which there are also hints of nuts and forest fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich flavour with harmonious tannins and a long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Impenetrable, almost black crimson. Leafy, dark fruit and hint of tomato stalk and black olive. The merest suggestion of oak. Ripe dark fruit that is still very young. Still hints of malolactic and with a load of bitter-sweet tannins. Very long and characterful with a hint of black olives and quite elegant palate weight. Complex." Jancis Robinson
"Bright red. Very perfumed red cherry, spicy strawberry, violet, and cinnamon on the almost aromatic, very floral nose. Ripe and suave, with a graceful mouth-feel and a long, clean mineral aftertaste which features pretty repeating floral notes. Less powerful than the 2010 but currently showing better balance and amazing grace. Lovely wine." Vinous
"A red with dried-plum and sour-cherry character. Hints of lemons, too. Medium to full body, soft tannins and a savory finish. Solid wine. A standard-bearer." James Suckling
"The venerated 2012 Sicilia Contea di Sclafani Rosso del Conte Tenuta Regaleali is a blend of 41% Nero d'Avola, 31% Perricone and the rest is a mix of various red grapes found on the Regaleali estate. Interestingly, past editions of this wine were reported as all Nero d'Avola but the blending formula seems to have gotten more complex with each passing vintage. This is a big boned wine with thick extraction and a long-lasting build. In fact, this bottle should go into the cellar for a few more years to better integrate and soften. The finish offers coffee, tar, licorice, dried fruit, blackberry preserves and much more. Rosso del Conte shows profound complexity." Robert Parker

“Rosso del Conte” Sicilia Contea di Sclafani DOC 2015
Ruby red, with a fine cherry scent, in which there are also hints of nuts and wild berries, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich flavour with harmonious tannins and a long, velvety final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, sparkling ruby with a slight violet shimmer. Multi-layered nose, rich notes of ripe plums, some blueberries, cedar and resin in the background. Juicy and round on the palate, spreads out with powerful, well-integrated tannin, describes a wide arc, firm pressure, long and firm." Falstaff
"Deep crimson. Deep, minty nose with cardamom pod, dark fruit and black-pepper notes and hints of dark earth. I suspect this was aged in chestnut casks. With aeration, increasingly multilayered and growing in stature. Hedonistic dark fruit and finely chiselled tannins on the palate. Very long, generous and complex, but in order for this wine to show its real potential I would put it away for at least five yeas. You don't immediately see it but the bottle has a beautiful shape." Jancis Robinson
"Scorched soil, leather, mature black-skinned fruit and Mediterranean scrub are just some of the aromas you'll find on this blend of Nero d'Avola and Perricone. The enveloping, full-bodied palate delivers ripe blackberry, black cherry, black spice and dried herb alongside firm, fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Good dark red. Ripe, vibrant nose offers kirsch, coffee, chocolate and a whiff of black pepper. At once silky-sweet and tangy, with lovely inner-mouth perfume to the fine-grained red/black fruit flavors. Finishes broad, very smooth and long, with harmonious acidity and ripe tannins giving the wine solid structure for aging. A powerful but already approachable red that will have many fans." Vinous
"Complex and decadent aromas of dark berries, walnuts, licorice, and tar follow through to a full body with rich and ripe fruit and a soft and lightly velvety finish." James Suckling
"This is an iconic Sicilian red that celebrates its 40th anniversary with this handsomely styled bottle. The 2015 Sicilia Contea di Sclafani Rosso del Conte Tenuta Regaleali definitely delivers the goods, but it also delivers a few surprises along the way. There's a lot going on in terms of aromas with softly ripened fruit that is plush and succulent. With a good amount of clarity I might add, you also get varietally true aromas of olive, anise and toasted Bronte pistachio. At the tail end, there is a meaty or savory tone of smoked pancetta or cured ham. The wine shows beautiful intensity and depth with textural richness and integrated tannins." Robert Parker

“Rosso del Conte” Sicilia Contea di Sclafani DOC 2013
Ruby red, with a fine cherry scent, in which there are also hints of nuts and forest fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich flavour with harmonious tannins and a long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Youthful mid ruby. Serious fruit nose with a hint of black olive. This reminds me a little of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Fine, complex, strawberry and cherry fruit with firm tannins and a hint of mint. Gorgeous acidity pulls the whole thing together. One of the best Rosso del Conte." Jancis Robinson
"Made from Nero d'Avola, Perricone and a small percentage of other grape varieties, this full-bodied red opens with intense ripe black-skinned berry, Mediterranean scrub, mint and tobacco aromas. The firm, savory palate offers black cherry jam, mocha, licorice and black pepper flavors framed by fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"The nose is sumptuous, with ripe, oaky, cherry and blueberry aromas. The attack is sleek and very concentrated, with a character that’s so ripe it’s almost sweet. But that sucrosity is balanced by quite high acidity that lifts the palate – minty, elegant, spicy and long." Decanter
"So much treacle tart to this red but then tons of florals such as jasmine, violets and then mulberries and hints of vanilla. Full body and a remarkably juicy and tangy center palate of forest fruits, which are ripe but run clean thanks to no shortage of refreshing acidity. Long and fruit-forward yet somehow minerally on the finish. A triumph! Perhaps the best nero d'avola blend ever made. Delicious now." James Suckling

Barolo “Essenze” Riserva DOCG 2010
Essenze Barolo Riserva is vinified only in the best vintages. It is a blend of the best grapes from the vineyards of the Comune del Barolo. Ethereal scent, some forest earth, tar, tobacco and spices. A wonderfully balanced Barolo with fine acid and tannin structure and beautiful fruit component - completely in the style of the house and made for a long life! SUPERIORE.DE
"A robust wine, powerful, also muscular with grippy tannin and many exciting facets. In the fragrance fresh blackberry and cranberry with a pinch of liquorice powder, plus the typical scent of forest floor and dried mushrooms. The veil of tannin under which young Barolo lies has already lifted somewhat." Jens Priewe
"Dark shining ruby red with delicately brightening rim. In the nose slightly balsamic with dark berry fruit and mild leather, in the reverberation after noble mushrooms and undergrowth. Opens on the palate with elegant melting and great density, balanced between tannin, acidity and fruit, spans a coordinated arc, pithy final." Falstaff

“Rosso del Conte” Sicilia Contea di Sclafani DOC 2014
Ruby red, with a fine cherry fragrance, in which there are also hints of nuts and forest fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich taste with harmonious tannins and long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"With this vintage, the grapes of Rosso del Conte were once again exclusively harvested in the vineyard San Lucio. Spicy and fresh nose with notes of berries and flowers, flanked by invigorating herbal and pepper aromas; well-balanced, perfectly integrated tannins, velvety and long. Of surprising finesse." Vinum
"Sparkling ruby. Crisp, appealing nose with notes of cardamom and bay leaf, then blackberry and blueberry. On the palate, dense tannins, lots of fresh fruit, spicy final." Falstaff
"This is the 39th edition of this iconic red wine from Sicily. The 2014 Sicilia Contea di Sclafani Rosso del Conte Tenuta Regaleali reveals large-scale intensity with a dark and concentrated core. The bouquet delivers black fruit, balsam herb, cola, grilled herb and black olive. The wine is already very open, expressive and beautiful at this young stage in its evolution. The wine ages in new barrique for 18 months." Robert Parker
"Deep ruby. Precise, enticing aromas of raspberry, graphite, chestnut, herbs and smoky minerality. Sweet on entry, then juicy and sharply chiseled in the middle, with an austere quality to the raspberry and floral flavors. Finishes sappy and mouthcoating, with penetrating acidity giving this youthfully smooth red a classic mouthfeel." Vinous
"This has a crazy nose with notes of dried bay leaf, Thai basil, sage and thyme. Beneath the herbs are red peppers, blackcurrants, crushed stones, violets and blueberries. The blue-fruit and fascinating, herbal flavors permeate through layered tannins and mineral acidity right up to the long, bright finish. Once again, this breaks the boundaries for nero d’avola." “Core” Aglianico Campania IGT 2015 · MAGNUM in OWC
Wonderful Aglianico with fresh fruit scent and lively taste, notes of herbs and tea. Rich, spicy and complex on the palate, dark, with full juice, always elegant and without any trace of opulence. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense nose with notes of cherry, red currant and a hint of tobacco. Juicy on the palate, with nice acidity, noticeable tannin and a spicy finish." Falstaff
"This is the more accessible, second-tier wine from the formidable Silvia Imparato, owner of Montevetrano in Salerno province. The 2015 Aglianico Core is a rich and exuberant red wine that is characterized by dark, succulent fruit. The bouquet shows background tones of exotic spice, camphor ash, Indian furniture wax or resin." Robert Parker
"Fully saturated purple-ruby; this is a very deep color for Aglianico. Very grapey, expressive fruit aromas on the opulent nose. Then more refined on the palate, where herbal, sweet spice and blueberry nectar flavors are supported by a solid tannic spine and lively peppery acidity. Finishes long and juicy. I think a couple of years in the cellar will help this develop further and blossom into something more. My score would have been even higher if this Aglianico’s color had not been so dark." Vinous
"This is a red with plenty of exotic fruit and licorice as well as clove undertones. Full body and lots of berry character. Hints of dried tea. Loving it." James Suckling

“Sirì d’Jermu” Dogliani Superiore DOCG 2015 · MAGNUM
Here is a broad-shouldered Dolcetto that comes at you full throttle. Sirì d'Jermu has a very dark, saturated colour and deep penetration. It is characterised by aromas of smoke, tar and cured meat, but also by a good spiciness in the background. There are also some typical notes of morels and blackberries. SUPERIORE.DE
"A very bright, fruit-focused style with flavors of blackberries and cassis set amid sweet, supple tannins. Plenty to like here." James Suckling
"Though laced with pure raspberry, black cherry and boysenberry flavors, the fruit is hiding behind the firm structure. The tannins are austere now, but this has concentrated fruit and a mineral element on the finish. Opens up with air, so decant or cellar short-term." Wine Spectator
"Smoke, crème de cassis, plum, licorice, menthol, wild flowers and incense infuse the 2015 Dogliani Superiore Sirì d'Jermu. A gorgeous, beautifully layered wine, the 2015 is sumptuous and racy, but not at all overdone. There is no shortage of richness in this superb and super-expressive Dogliani from the Pecchenino brothers." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2012
Brunello 2012 by Mastrojanni seduces with beautiful charisma, intensity and finesse. Characterful bouquet of sweet cherries, Mediterranean herbs, smoke and tobacco. The splendid fruit and the tightly woven tannins are carried by a light acidity. Very good storage potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"A multi-facetted nose of plums, leather and tobacco; juicy in the mouth, the acidity perceptible, the tannin well integrated, racy and powerful, without forgetting the finesse." Vinum
"A very typical Brunello with berry and tobacco character plus hints of cedar. Full-bodied, chewy and tannic. Needs time to soften and come together. Savory wine." James Suckling
"Mid ruby with bright bricky rim. Open, red-fruit nose and solid fruit palate. Grainy tannins that are a little demanding right now. Building up in complexity on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Beautifully saturated and dark, the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino offers a distinctively sophisticated personality. There's an air of nobility that is natural to Brunello, but that comes in limited supply in this warm vintage. You definitely get it here. The wine's bouquet offers a compelling medley of dark fruit tones that shift into savory spicy and balsam herb. Those automatic transitions are smooth and seamless. Another nice quality of the wine is that no one element overpowers or overshadows the other. It offers a great sense of balance. This wine has many cards to play and I am confident it will play them well over the next ten years of its evolution." Robert Parker
"Luminous red. Highly complex nose offers aromas of red cherry, raspberry, flint and violet, plus a touch of beef bouillon; this is a candidate for the most complex nose of the vintage. Then textbook Sangiovese flavors of flinty red cherries, licorice and minerals. Long and clean on the perfumed, highly mineral finish." Ian d’Agata (vinous.com)

Unfortunately, most fine wines are drunk much too young. Sometimes personal curiosity wins out, other times it is the storage space that is in short supply. Or the maturity potential and the possibly grandiose development of a top wine is given too little patience and attention.
It is undisputed that a great wine should mature slowly. It should be stored vibration-free, dark and at a constant coolness. Only then can it unfold its full potential over the years and provide the wine connoisseur with unexpected and impressive moments of pleasure.
If you do not have the appropriate optimal storage facilities yourself, you should rely on a trustworthy source from which you can purchase perfectly matured wines at fair prices without risk. This not only saves you the storage risk and the risky patience games, but often also the not inconsiderable capital commitment that such a well-assorted wine cellar entails.
For years we have been strategically stockpiling and allowing some of the wines from excellent vintages to simply lie around and mature in peace. Today we present you a selection of very interesting wines that have already spent several years in our air-conditioned warehouse and of which we know that they will reach their peak of enjoyment in the next few years. These wines have a complexity and depth that can only be guessed at in the beginning and which they simply cannot reach even with a lot of aeration in still young years.
The best: We offer you these matured wines at prices that are not, or only slightly, above the prices of the vintages currently available. We are sure that these wines, thanks to the perfect storage conditions and the already abundant potential, will give you pleasurable sensory pleasures in the near future and on the right occasion.
