Pure-varietal Montepulciano from the San Lorenzo vineyard: garnet red with almost black reflections. On the nose, sweet autumnal spices, mint and cedar before revealing its core of medicinal cherry. Silky and smooth on the palate, it delights with its ripe red and blue fruits, while the tannins slowly build towards the end. On the long and lightly structured final, notes of tangerine mingle with blueberry skin and chalky minerals. San Lorenzo is incredibly pretty and has a beautiful harmony and balance. SUPERIORE.DE

“Centovie” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC 2018 (BIO)
"Strong ruby red with light violet reflections. Rich nose with notes of sour cherry, blackberry jam, liquorice and Mediterranean maquis. Soft, supple and balanced on the palate between freshness, juiciness and well-integrated tannins." Falstaff
"The 2018 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Centovie rises from the glass with a wild and exotic blend of crushed rose petals, sweet herbs, wet stone and strawberries. It fills the palate with a soft, almost fleshy texture held together by a lively acidity that enlivens the tart wild berries within. The 2018 is long-lasting, just lightly textured with a hint of sour citrus that contrasts nicely." Vinous
"This is an organic wine whose fruit comes exclusively from the Umani Ronchi vineyards. The 2018 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Centovie represents some of the fruit from two hills facing each other. The wine shows beautiful dark fruit and rich concentration with soft layers of black cherry, plum, spice and leather. The 2018 vintage offers plenty of freshness to cleanse the palate." Wine Advocate

“Pelago” Rosso Marche IGT 2018
Radiant in rich garnet red, the Riserva-quality Pelago made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano and small parts of Merlot shows a ravishing scent of raspberries, a noble spiciness and a hearty, juicy and very long taste. SUPERIORE.DE
"This has aromas of salted olives, grilled herbs, cherries, plums, cedar, cloves and bay leaves. Structured and firm, with chewy tannins and a medium to full body. Savory, flavorful finish." James Suckling
"Dark depths of crushed raspberry, strawberry preserve, cloves, tobacco and a hint of mocha form a seductive bouquet as the 2018 Rosso Pelago opens in the glass. It’s seamlessly silky and elegant in feel, washing creamy waves of ripe red and black fruits across the palate with ease. The 2018 tapers off with a coating of grippy tannins, as a saturation of licorice and nuances of sour citrus slowly fade. This is a beautiful and more lifted vintage of Pelago that should emerge as a real charmer through short–term cellaring." Vinous

“Campo San Giorgio” Rosso Conero Riserva DOCG 2017
The Montepulciano vines for this powerful and terroir-rich Montepulciano grow on the Campo San Giorgio vineyard at an altitude of about 150 m on deep, chalky clay soils. The wine is unfiltered and unfined and matures for 12 months in small and large wooden barrels. The label represents the historic design of the Rosso Conero of the 1970s and the impressive result is the calling card of a long family tradition and expertise in viticulture.
Deep dark ruby red with violet and garnet reflections. Very expressive on the nose with a fruity style of cherry, plum, liquorice and herbal spice. Fresh and firm on the palate, the delicate extract sweetness gives it harmony and the silky tannins lead into a warm, very long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fragrant with loamy earth and ripe fruit on the nose, this enticing red features a pure beam of pureed black cherry, minerally iron and smoke, dried thyme and lavender. Silky on the palate, but the lush flavor profile wraps around a core of dense, but fine, tannins that emerge to firm the finish." Wine Spectator
"A lovely shellfish aroma rises first to the nose, followed by notes of fresh orange peel and ripe purple plums. The palate is already engaged, repeating the same fresh fruit and mineral character that gives this wine a light feel despite its Riserva status. Firm tannins emerge at the end. This is a very fine, terroir-driven wine that just needs time to shake off the still-youthful tannins. An exceptional wine for the Marche. Best from 2024." James Suckling

The Bernetti family, with its wine company Umani Ronchi, has acquired an excellent reputation as one of the leading wine producers in the Marche region, far beyond the borders of the region and the country. Today the wine house, located in Osimo in the province of Ancona and represented by a branch in Castelbellino, is managed by Massimo Bernetti and his son Michele. In addition to the approximately 200 hectares of land in the Marche between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast, the successful winegrower duo also owns a further 30 hectares of vineyards in Abruzzo. It is the declared aim of the estate owners in both wine regions to bring out the specific terroirs as well as the local grape varieties Montepulciano and Verdicchio with their typical characteristics convincingly.
In the beginning the winery was a typical farm. The company, founded by Gino Umani Ronchi and taken over a few years later by the couple Massimo Bernetti and Annalisa Bianchi, did not become a pure producer of fine wines until 1968. But the family had also been active in the wine business in the previous ten years. After Massimo had taken over management in the 1970s - a time of operational growth and numerous investments - Michele took over the management in the 1990s. For a long time the wine house cooperated with the world-famous oenologist Giacomo Tachis, creator of the legendary wines Sassicaia and Tignanello, before he was replaced by Giuseppe Caviola from Piedmont in 2002 in his capacity as consultant.
In the Marche, Umani Ronchi has very beautiful vineyards in the renowned production areas of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and Rosso Conero. The vineyards are under the care of the agronomist Luigi Piersanti and are partly cultivated according to organic principles. The vineyards in the Esino valley extend over the municipalities of Cupramontana, Montecarotto, Maiolati Spontini and San Paolo di Jesi or are located in the hinterland of Monte Conero. Working in the vineyard, Umani Ronchi's team benefits from the results of research carried out by scientific institutions such as the University of Ancona into the most modern agricultural production conditions.
Most of the drops from the large and reliable range come from exposed individual layers. Umani Ronchi's precise and well-defined wine style combines modern and classic elements, respecting the tradition and typicality of the local grape varieties. What goes into the bottles is elegant and full of finesse, the fruit is never overemphasised. SUPERIORE.DE
"The winery of the Bernetti family has been internationally present for many years. However, their technically perfect bottlings, blessed with extraordinary temperament and depth, do not bend to the markets, but rather point them in the right direction."Gambero Rosso
