Here comes a wine that completely tantalises the senses: Maximo is a sweet wine rarity based on Sauvignon Blanc, harvested at the height of the Villa Bianchi estate – where humidity and dry winds favour the noblest form of Botrytis cinerea. The grapes ripen on the cool Colli del Verdicchio before they are hand-picked several times and brought to the cellar, where they are gently pressed in a small Vaslin press basket. Spontaneous fermentation takes place at 15 °C for around a month. After static clarification, the wine matures in small stainless steel tanks for around a year.

It shines gold in the glass with a light amber colour. The nose is a potpourri of honey, apricot and ripe peaches, followed by notes of ripe fig and candied citrus fruit – rich, complex and elegant at the same time. The palate is lush and supple, but never heavy: a fine acidity undermines the sweetness, creates balance and lends freshness. The long, juicy finish is characterised by candied fruit and honeyed warmth.
