      Feudi di San Gregorio's DUBL project was born in 2004 out of an awareness of the great richness of the autochthonous vines of the Irpinia region and the desire to open up new horizons for them: as a Classico Spumante metodo or through the famous Méthode Champenoise. A consultant was quickly found - none other than Anselme Selosse, who is known for his champagne and his intuition for the peculiarities of the vines and vineyards.

      A quarter of the base wines of this top product are aged in oak barrels for 6 months, then the cuvée is aged in the bottle for 3 years on fine yeast before being disgorged. Strong light yellow and a super-fine perlage. In the nose light fruit, yeasty notes and nuances of fresh bread. On the palate then powerful, fresh, with beautiful spice and a potpourri of stone fruit, fine honey note and roasted almonds. This sparkling wine does completely without dosage, it is extremely dry with all its aromas and for us with its impressive finish one of the great spumanti of Italy. SUPERIORE.DE

      Named after the ancient Roman wine festivals, the Passito Vinalia is a sweet dessert wine that goes particularly well with the South Tyrolean apple strudel. The strictly selected grapes, air-dried after the harvest, come from the sun-drenched vineyards on the slopes of Bolzano at an altitude of 300 to 400 metres above sea level. They are gently pressed about 4 months after the harvest and then fermented in used French barriques. Fermentation stops at max. 10% vol. due to the high sugar content of the mash.

      As a result of extensive soil research, Francesco Ricasoli was able to identify three micro-layers that will be vinified separately from the 2015 vintage onwards. As a result, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione range now includes the famous Castello di Brolio as well as three Cru vineyards (Colledilà, Roncicone and Ceniprimo), all of which are 100% stocked with Sangiovese. They differ in structure and taste in close correspondence with their terroir and impressively demonstrate the complexity of the Chanti Classico region.

      Colledilà grapes come from the soils of Monte Morello. The 7.6 hectare Ein-Weinberg property was planted in 2002 on very rocky soils rich in calcium, clay and organic matter. These characteristics give this wine its sharpness and concentration, which promise a long maturation in the cellar.

      In the bouquet ripe, dark cherry fruit and blackberry aromas, followed by tar, liquorice and potting soil. On the palate a fine earthiness, cherry and plum, with soft and slightly sweet tannins. A wonderfully structured wine that leaves nothing to be desired in depth, length and balanced proportions.       The grapes for one of the most elegant and ethereal vin santo in Chianti Classico are dried before being pressed and then sealed in barrels for nine years. Paolo de Marchi calls it "lazy winemaking" and admits, "The blending process is actually the most challenging part because each barrel is different and after tasting 10 barrels, palate fatigue sets in."

      The result is a very elegant and pure Vin Santo that has notes of candied fruit, honey and sweet spices. The balance between sweetness and acidity keeps the wine light, lively and refreshing, and it has a smoky edge on the finish. This is a great Vin Santo, and although it has over 200g/l of residual sugar, it is surprisingly light, refreshing and easy to drink. SUPERIORE.DE
