“BIANCO” Frizzante dell’Emilia IGT 2018 secco

Rare cuvée of white vinified Sorbara and Trebbiano. Delicate floral scents, violets, pears and citrus notes, cheeky and fresh. On the palate delicately creamy, fills the palate wonderfully, again pears and citrus, dances properly over the tongue with fine perlage and lasts with good freshness quite long. Fine as an aperitif or as a companion to fish starters. SUPERIORE.DE

“SOLCO” Lambrusco dell’Emilia IGT 2018 semisecco

Dark cherry red with violet reflections. In the fragrance intense sweet, pickled Amarena cherries and sour cherries, with delicate herbal spice, very inviting. On the palate sweet fruit again, embedded in fine sparkling mousseux, long lasting and fresh, with animating acid play in the finish. Fine aperitif, but also very good as a companion for hearty pasta dishes. SUPERIORE.DE

"A delightful Lambrusco with so much freshness; think freshly picked strawberries, raspberries and peaches. Light-to medium-bodied and so refreshing, framing zippy acidity and tangy blueberries. A burst of bubbles on the finish gives this form." James Suckling

    • "RADICE" Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2018 secco

“RADICE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2018 secco

Out with the cliché, in with the surprise!

Even the most famous Lambrusco plant of the Paltrinieris will fill every connoisseur with joy. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat process (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling. This naturally cloudy drop convinces already in the Bouquet with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus note and some bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinkable character make it a racy companion to hearty-spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply a lively celebration in the midst of nature and cheerful people. SUPERIORE.DE

"Quite reductive at first, but the funk dissipates for the most part to reveal white rose petals and cranberries. Dry and flavorful with refined bubbles and loads of tangy acidity on the fine finish. Textured and delicate yet intense." James Suckling

"One of the best Lambruscos out there, this delicious, vibrant wine opens with enticing scents of wild red berry, yellow stone fruit, citrus blossom and a yeasty, comforting whiff of pastry dough. Made by carrying out the secondary fermentation in the bottle, the dry, delicious palate delivers pink grapefruit, crushed strawberry and tangerine alongside crisp acidity and a saline note." A real Lambrusco "Cru" from the 15 ha vineyard "Vigna del Cristo", which received a 2nd fermentation according to the Charmat method for 3 months in pressure tanks.

Salmon pink. Smells of pink grapefruit and raspberries. On the palate cheeky, fresh, lively and dust-dry - perfect for friends of "zero dosage". Very fine perlage that lasts for a long time. Sounds long with fine bitter fruit. Very fine as an aperitif, with mussels, oysters and cold fish starters. SUPERIORE.DE

    About the winemakers
    Paltrinieri
    Emilia-Romagna
    Paltrinieri

A vineyard with fifteen hectares of vineyards is almost ridiculously small in Emilia-Romagna. Nevertheless, Alberto Paltrinieri and his wife Barbara decided to continue the tradition of his grandfather, who founded the company in 1926. And yet to do almost everything in a completely different way.

Nobody dared to press a pure Lambrusco in the late 1980s. Then, a little later, to go one step further and select grapes from individual vineyards, as in the French "Cru" system. The two dared to do so, bet on the extremely delicate and in need of care grape variety Sorbara, and went to almost unbelievable lengths in the slightly hilly country between the two rivers Secchia and Panaro. Working hours like in a Mosel steep slope. To produce Lambrusco. The "bubble" that had just reached the low point of his image. They were called complete nutjobs. Who wants pure Sorbara Lambrusco, and that from a single vineyard? Absurd. You can't earn anything with that.

But quality prevails after all. And so it soon rained awards all the way to the coveted three glasses, the "tre bicchieri" of the famous Italian wine guide Gambero Rosso. It also brought reputation. Not only the Paltrinieris, but the whole region around Cristo di Sorbara. And slowly the wine world at Lambrusco no longer began to think of sweet dark supermarket sparkling wine, but of light, pink and above all dry Lambrusco, just a Sorbara. Fine fruity, with fine mousseux. In different variations, from Charmat pressure tank fermentation to the "Metodo Classico" spumante in bottle fermentation, as in Champagne.

The relaunch was a success that hardly anyone would have believed in. And one of the pioneers was Paltrinieri. The portfolio ranges from Bianco with Trebbiano and white fermented Sorbara to the red Solco from the grape variety Salamino and the pure Sorbara. Lambrusco Sorbara in purezza. Forget everything you've ever heard about Lambrusco! SUPERIORE.DE
