“BIANCO” Frizzante dell’Emilia IGT 2020 secco
Rare cuvée from white vinified Sorbara and Trebbiano. Delicately floral in the fragrance, violets, pears and citrus notes, cheeky and fresh. At the palate delicately creamy, fills the palate wonderfully, again pears and citrus, dances properly over the tongue with fine perlage and lasts with good freshness quite long. Fine as an aperitif or as a companion to fish starters. SUPERIORE.DE

Bright ruby red. In the nose a small fruit basket with red berries and cherries, delicately floral with violets. Quite full-bodied, very dry with fine fruit and extremely fine sparkling mousseux, lingers long, very finely balanced. The winery recommended it with Tortellini in Brodo - we can only agree, perfect match. SUPERIORE.DE

“LECLISSE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2020 secco
A real Lambrusco Cru from the 15 ha vineyard "Vigna del Cristo", which received a 2nd fermentation according to the Charmat method for 3 months in pressure tanks. Salmon pink. Smells of pink grapefruit and subtle raspberry. Perky, fresh, lively and dry as dust on the palate - perfect for friends of "zero dosage". Very fine perlage, which also lasts a long time. Lingers long with fine tart fruit. Ideal as an aperitif, with mussels, oysters and cold fish starters. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant old pink. On the nose of orange blossom, lemon juice and a hint of wet stone, reverberating with early ripe red currants. On the palate straightforward, juicy, clear, with well-integrated perlage, has fine fruit melt and yet remains bone dry, clean and long on the final, ends on citrus, has plenty of pressure." Falstaff
"The 2020 Lambrusco di Sorbara Leclisse is lifted and floral with nuances of strawberry, savory spice and incense. Its silken bubbles are quickly firmed up by a mix of salty minerals and acids, as citrus-tinged orchard fruits add further tension through the medium-length finale. The Leclisse is produced by the Charmat method, and it spends three months resting on the lees prior to bottling." Vinous

“RADICE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2021 secco
Out with the clichés, in with the surprise! The Paltrinieris' most famous Lambrusco growth will also fill every connoisseur with joy. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat method (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling. This naturally cloudy, dry Frizzante already convinces in the bouquet with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus note and some bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinky nature make it a racy companion to hearty, spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply an upbeat celebration surrounded by nature and happy people. “LARISERVA” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2019 brut
LARISERVA is a white vinified Lambrusco di Sorbara Spumante and is aged for 12 months in the Martinotti method (Charmat method) in pressure tanks on fine lees. Fine powder pink. In the delicate bouquet pretty floral notes and hints of grapefruit and rhubarb. Soft, drinkable and incredibly fresh on the palate, very elegant as it progresses and with a fine spiciness in the background. An aperitif that we appreciate very much. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright shimmering baby pink with copper reflections. Opens on nuances of tree ripe cherries, raspberry, dried rose petals and pine nuts. Hits the palate with racy acidity, very precise, punchy on the back end, pulls into the final with tension, red fruits on the final." Falstaff
"Fresh strawberry, sweet herbs, roses and smoke create an inviting display as the 2019 Lambrusco di Sorbara Lariserva opens up in the glass. This displays silky textures and a stimulating bead of fine bubbles, accentuated by brilliant acidity and tart orchard fruits. It’s savory, almost salty and buzzing with residual tension through the long, mouthwatering finale." Vinous

“GROSSO” Metodo Classico Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2018 brut
GROSSO is a Blanc de Noirs produced in the classic Champagne method and matures for 24 months on the fine lees. Delicate pink colour and a fine, persistent perlage. Crisp bouquet of violets, citrus peel, nectarine and wild strawberry. On the palate with a nice draught, very straight after red berries. Very well balanced, it prances with fine spicy and impressive freshness into a respectable finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brightest, shining copper with golden accents. In the bouquet red currant and wild cranberry, in addition delicate meadow herbs, slightly yeasty. In the taste again distinctly spicy, shows rich melting and winds wiry through the palate, animating in the drink, in the finish finesse-rich and slightly salty." Falstaff

"Cloudy orange. In the nose yeast, lemon juice, in the reverberation even blossom honey. On the palate, very straightforward, steely, with prominent acidity and tightly meshed perlage, bone dry, accompanies supreme drinking pleasure with oily salumi." Falstaff
"Pet-nat style of Lambrusco. Cloudy guava pink. Smells of dried rose buds, marshmallows, Turkish delight, blood orange. Bone, bone dry. Like the crunch of French breakfast radishes served with bitter orange and sour cherry. Herbal. Super-tart but wonderfully refreshing. Needs some fatty fennel-and-truffle salami to go with it!" Jancis Robinson
"The 2020 Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice presents a savory display of dusty rose, ginger and sour melon. It's silky-smooth and textural, as a tug-of-war between sweet and sour plays out upon the senses. Minerals, tart apples, wild herbs and spices resonate throughout, as this finishes long yet with cheek-puckering freshness. The decidedly dry Radice is made from the Sorbara grape, which is re-fermented to dryness in bottle, creating a frizzante style." Vinous

A vineyard with fifteen hectares of vineyards is almost ridiculously small in Emilia-Romagna. Nevertheless, Alberto Paltrinieri and his wife Barbara decided to continue the tradition of his grandfather, who founded the company in 1926. And yet to do almost everything in a completely different way.
Nobody dared to press a pure Lambrusco in the late 1980s. Then, a little later, to go one step further and select grapes from individual vineyards, as in the French "Cru" system. The two dared to do so, bet on the extremely delicate and in need of care grape variety Sorbara, and went to almost unbelievable lengths in the slightly hilly country between the two rivers Secchia and Panaro. Working hours like in a Mosel steep slope. To produce Lambrusco. The "bubble" that had just reached the low point of his image. They were called complete nutjobs. Who wants pure Sorbara Lambrusco, and that from a single vineyard? Absurd. You can't earn anything with that.
But quality prevails after all. And so it soon rained awards all the way to the coveted three glasses, the "tre bicchieri" of the famous Italian wine guide Gambero Rosso. It also brought reputation. Not only the Paltrinieris, but the whole region around Cristo di Sorbara. And slowly the wine world at Lambrusco no longer began to think of sweet dark supermarket sparkling wine, but of light, pink and above all dry Lambrusco, just a Sorbara. Fine fruity, with fine mousseux. In different variations, from Charmat pressure tank fermentation to the "Metodo Classico" spumante in bottle fermentation, as in Champagne.
The relaunch was a success that hardly anyone would have believed in. And one of the pioneers was Paltrinieri. The portfolio ranges from Bianco with Trebbiano and white fermented Sorbara to the red Solco from the grape variety Salamino and the pure Sorbara. Lambrusco Sorbara in purezza. Forget everything you've ever heard about Lambrusco! SUPERIORE.DE
