• "Montetinello" Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC 2015 (BIO)

“Montetinello” Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC 2015 (BIO)

The deep red Cuveé from Montepulciano and Sangiovese exudes the beguiling scent of sour cherries, coffee and vanilla. On the palate it is flattering, juicy and very dense. In the long finish chocolate and plum. Due to the maturation in Slovenian oak barrels the tannin is ripe and melted. A fantastic everyday wine with charm and character. SUPERIORE.DE

"Hints of dried marjoram and star anise are layered with ripe red and black currant fruit in this bright, stylish, medium-bodied red. Light, taut tannins and an underpinning of sweet, loamy earth hold sway on the finish." Wine Spectator

"The mid-tier Saladini Pilastri 2015 Rosso Piceno Superiore Vigna Montetinello (made from a blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese) offers loads of vintage character with so much of the ripe and generous flavoring we see in wines from this sunny and warm vintage. Blackberry preserves and dried cherry are two of the aromatic protagonists to be found in any classic Rosso Piceno." Robert Parker

    • "Pregio del Conte" Rosso Marche IGT 2015 (BIO)

“Pregio del Conte” Rosso Marche IGT 2015 (BIO)

Pregio del Conte, an unusual symbiosis of Aglianico and Montepulciano, which gives its strong taste with hints of chocolate, spices and red fruits and a long, clean finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Dried marjoram and lavender notes offer an aromatic, herbal overtone to the flavors of plumped cherry, leather and licorice snap in this creamy, medium-bodied red. Well-knit." Wine Spectator

"This red wine from Saladini Pilastri offers a robust and dense fruit profile, making it more of a meat wine than a pasta wine. The 2015 Pregio del Conte is a blend of equal parts Aglianico and Montepulciano (aged in French Allier barrique for a slow 24 months). It benefits from some of the northernmost Aglianico farmed in Italy, and this already-tannic grape offers pronounced firmness and backbone in this expression from warm-climate Marche. That's why you need a hearty meat dish on the table across from a glass of this wine. There is a point of astringency here, and succulent meat would soften it." Robert Parker

“Vigna del Mandorlo” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2019

Cognos classic Dolcetto Vigna del Mandorlo fascinates with a complex bouquet. The juicy taste is carried by fine tannin and shows a wonderful bitter almond tone in the finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"The Elvio Cogno 2019 Dolcetto d'Alba Mandorlo is a beautifully fragrant expression of the grape, with impressive purity and focus. Dark cherry and fresh blueberry are followed by crushed limestone or white stone. The wine is only aged in stainless steel, and the vineyards see calcareous-rich soils. The wine is lean, almost mid-weight in terms of density, but it shows the simple balance and harmony to pair with Ascoli olives, or olive ascolana, that are fried and stuffed with minced pork and bread crumbs." “Contado” Aglianico Riserva Molise DOC 2015

Concentrated ruby red with garnet reflections. To the predominant cherry and berry scent the wood contributes very light hints of roasted coffee. Full and very intense taste of dark berries, very light of violets and plums, the compact tannins are carried by balsamic notes, in the aftertaste fine liquorice tones. SUPERIORE.DE

"Of the many value reds offered by this estate, the 2015 Aglianico del Molise Riserva Contado is my favorite. The wine delivers the power and density that is attributed to this fabulous red grape, followed by warm-vintage aromas that are exuberant and generous. You get black cherry and blackberry preserves followed by light baking spice. This is a full-bodied wine that achieves careful balance." Robert Parker

    • "Poggio Argentato" Bianco Toscana IGT 2018

“Poggio Argentato” Bianco Toscana IGT 2018

Poggio Argentato is a beautifully balanced white with a French touch. In the nose a multi-layered bouquet with fine herbal notes. On the palate strong, fresh, elegant and carried by a mineral acidity, citrus tones in the aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2018 Poggio Argentato is a fresh white that benefitted from a cool May and June and plenty of rain in August. The blend is 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Petit Manseng, 10% Traminer and 5% Semillon. Fermented in tonneaux, the wine has a very precise bouquet, although the mouthfeel still needs to take on more volume and weight. There are nice little aromas of white flowers and honeysuckle. Give this one a few more months in the bottle to take on more weight before serving it along side a plate of spaghetti with vongole and chopped parsley." Robert Parker

      “Benuara” Rosso Sicilia DOC 2017

Sparkling ruby red with an intense aroma of ripe wild berries, concentrated, full-bodied yet elegant taste, which ends in a fresh, smooth finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2017 Sicilia Benuara (with fruit from the Tenuta Presti e Pegni estate) is a beautifully rich, memorable and concentrated Sicilian red blend. The bouquet unravels to black fruit intensity with barbecue spice, savory leather and crushed peppercorn. This robust red wine offers ample body and intensity and would pair next to roasted suckling pig on the spit. This is always a great value choice." Robert Parker

    • Brachetto d'Acqui DOC 2019

      Brachetto d’Acqui DOC 2019

The Brachetto d'Acqui is light ruby red (with cherry-red foam) and presents itself as a clearly moussed Brachetto d'Acqui. The bouquet is very aromatic with notes of nutmeg, rose and violet. The taste is very elegant, reminiscent of strawberries, round and finely balanced between mild sweetness and fruity, very refreshing astringency. SUPERIORE.DE

"Brachetto remains one of Italy's under-appreciated wines, despite the fact it is a fundamental part of local drinking culture in Piedmont. The Braida 2019 Brachetto d'Acqui pours from the bottle with a purplish-ruby tinge, and it supplies a good amount of foam and fizz despite its semi-sparkling status. The bouquet reveals candied raspberry, wild rose, peach and nectarine. If you dig deep, you will also find chalky mineral notes. The alcoholic content is a very contained 5.5%, making for a nice sparkling lunch wine with a vegetable piadina." Robert Parker

      Moscato d’Asti DOC 2019

Moscato d'Asti is an important part of the culinary tradition in Piedmont. A bright wine full of purity and natural vitality for festive and joyful moments. Straw yellow in colour with greenish tones, it has expressive aromas of sage, exotic fruits, apricot and peach. Delicately melting taste, the persistent perlage flatters the palate. A fresh, cheerful wine experience! SUPERIORE.DE

"This pretty semi-sparkling Moscato d'Asti produces a thick foam of bubbles as it pours into the glass and boasts a luminous pale gold color. The G.D. Vajra 2019 Moscato d'Asti sees fruit sourced from the Vigneti di Moncucco in Santo Stefano Belbo and the Riforno vineyard in the nearby area of Mango. Both sites are at the historic heart of the Moscato d'Asti production zone. This pretty wine delivers a wide range of floral and tropical fruit aromas with fragrant peach and star jasmine. Things to know about
    Robert Parker
    Robert Parker

Robert M. Parker jun. (born 1947) from Maryland/USA is probably the most influential wine taster in the world. Whatever he says is published in his magazine "Wine Advocate", his judgement is accepted almost without contradiction by a huge fan community all over the world.

Robert Parker's 100-point system, which is based on American school grading, has now been adopted worldwide. For Italy, for many years, evaluated chief taster Antonio Galloni, since his progress into the independence (vinous.com) took over this area Monica Larner. She was born in California, but has lived in Italy for many years.

Larner is a certified sommelier with the Italian Sommelier Association AIS, wrote for the daily newspaper La Repubblica for a long time and then spent ten years as the Italian specialist for wine enthusiasts. She is highly regarded by Italian winegrowers and is an excellent taster. Their commitment has once again brought Parker a much better reputation in Italy. SUPERIORE.DE
