• "Contado" Aglianico Riserva Molise DOC 2015

“Contado” Aglianico Riserva Molise DOC 2015

Concentrated ruby red with garnet reflections. To the predominant cherry and berry scent the wood contributes very light hints of roasted coffee. Full and very intense taste of dark berries, very light of violets and plums, the compact tannins are carried by balsamic notes, in the aftertaste fine liquorice tones. SUPERIORE.DE

"Of the many value reds offered by this estate, the 2015 Aglianico del Molise Riserva Contado is my favorite. The wine delivers the power and density that is attributed to this fabulous red grape, followed by warm-vintage aromas that are exuberant and generous. You get black cherry and blackberry preserves followed by light baking spice. This is a full-bodied wine that achieves careful balance." Robert Parker

"Aromas of blue fruit and wet earth with a hint of lavender. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long, flavorful finish." James Suckling

    • "Benuara" Rosso Sicilia DOC 2017

      “Benuara” Rosso Sicilia DOC 2017

Sparkling ruby red with an intense aroma of ripe wild berries, concentrated, full-bodied yet elegant taste, which ends in a fresh, smooth finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2017 Sicilia Benuara (with fruit from the Tenuta Presti e Pegni estate) is a beautifully rich, memorable and concentrated Sicilian red blend. The bouquet unravels to black fruit intensity with barbecue spice, savory leather and crushed peppercorn. This robust red wine offers ample body and intensity and would pair next to roasted suckling pig on the spit. This is always a great value choice." Robert Parker

"Made with 70% Nero d'Avola and 30% Syrah, this opens with aromas of black-skinned berry, bay leaf and sandalwood. The full-bodied, juicy palate offers blackberry jam, star anise and black pepper alongside chewy tannins." Wine Enthusiast

    • "Svelato" Falanghina del Sannio DOP 2018

“Svelato” Falanghina del Sannio DOP 2018

Golden yellow Falanghina with greenish shimmering reflexes and pleasant fresh broom scent. On the palate well structured, very full-bodied and complex with balanced acidity and aromas of pomegranate and very delicate notes of flowers in the aftertaste. Svelato - open and undisguised, as its name suggests. SUPERIORE.DE

"There is some good freshness and bright citrus within the 2018 Falanghina del Sannio Svelato. The wine has a pretty intensity and brightness, with intermingled tones of natural rubber, orchard fruit and grapefruit. A colleague of mine who tasted this wine suggested it would be the perfect pairing for spaghetti with colatura di alici, Campania's inimitable anchovy extract used to flavor local pasta dishes or poured over bread." • "Poggio Argentato" Bianco Toscana IGT 2018

“Poggio Argentato” Bianco Toscana IGT 2018

Poggio Argentato is a beautifully balanced white with a French touch. In the nose a multi-layered bouquet with fine herbal notes. On the palate strong, fresh, elegant and carried by a mineral acidity, citrus tones in the aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2018 Poggio Argentato is a fresh white that benefitted from a cool May and June and plenty of rain in August. The blend is 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Petit Manseng, 10% Traminer and 5% Semillon. Fermented in tonneaux, the wine has a very precise bouquet, although the mouthfeel still needs to take on more volume and weight. There are nice little aromas of white flowers and honeysuckle. Give this one a few more months in the bottle to take on more weight before serving it along side a plate of spaghetti with vongole and chopped parsley." Robert Parker

    • "Bric del Salto" Dolcetto d'Alba DOC 2017

“Bric del Salto” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2017

Bright ruby red. Bric del Salto interprets the famous Piedmontese grape variety in a direct and classic way. Fruity bouquet combines with the typical Neive spice. On the palate again clear, with precise fruit, the right dose of fine tannins - and above all an inspiring freshness. SUPERIORE.DE

"The fruit is delicate, and the mineral notes come out very strongly here. It is almost crunchy in terms of mouthfeel. This was a hot year, but you’d never know it with this wine because it has an oddly cool-climate personality. It's very floral and delicate on the nose with notes of blossoming rose. There is a refined or, you might say, even traditional side to this wine that you don’t often see in its peers." Robert Parker

    • Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC 2017

      Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC 2017

Fontanabianca has created an elegant and densely packed Barbera here. It shows the exuberance and potential of the grape, yet with a reasonable degree of restraint. It is neither marmalade or too fruity, but spoils with a fine dose of dried cherry and plum aromas, in addition some spanish cedar wood with a fine citrus note. A balanced drop with a beautiful final. SUPERIORE.DE

"This is a well-concentrated and enriched red wine that opens to dark berry aromas of Morello cherry, blackberry, sun-dried prune and a touch of raisin. The 2017 Barbera d'Alba Superiore offers soft intensity that makes it the perfect pairing partner to any cheese-driven dish, such as ricotta and spinach ravioli or lasagna." Robert Parker

    • Moscato d'Autunno Piemonte DOP 2018

      Moscato d’Autunno Piemonte DOP 2018

Moscato d'Autunno, made from various Moscato musts, is the top product from the historic Moscato farm Saracco. Fine peach aromas and hints of sage in the finesse-rich bouquet. Powerful on the palate, with wonderfully crisp fruit and long finish. Very attractive. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2018 Piemonte Moscato d'Autunno is etremely fine and elegant with a pretty lacework of white flower, honey, lemon blossom and fresh sage aromas. The sweetness and primary fruit intensity of the wine appears slightly more pronoounced in this traditional sweet sparkling Moscato that is released early and meant to be consumed immediately." Robert Parker

"Delicious lemon pith and orange blossom on the nose here, as well as fresh herbs and straw. Medium-bodied with some light off-dryness and a gently foaming mousse — which works very well with the steely acidity and shrill, citrus flavors. Delicious, as always, and very mineral on the finish." James Suckling

“Re Manfredi” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2015

Re Manfredi is a masterpiece from the autochthonous grape variety Aglianico. Its label bears the coat of arms of the ruling house of Emperor Frederick the Staufer, who was at home here. Deep ruby red, fragrant, intense and complex bouquet, rich fruit, robust structure, fine tannins and clean, pleasant bitter tones in harmony, very dense, elegant, spicy and complex with a subtle wood tone. A beautiful, characteristic red! SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2015 Aglianico del Vulture achieves something that is not banal, considering the robust characteristics of this powerhouse appellation; it achieves easy elegance. This is purposely not a particularly profound or complex wine, but it is streamlined, tight and accessible with a refreshingly frank and matter-of-fact personality. The bouquet reveals aromas of candied cherry, smoke and crushed volcanic rock. The tannins are a bit dusty, but they are well integrated." Robert Parker

    Things to know about
    Robert Parker
    Robert Parker

Robert M. Parker jun. (born 1947) from Maryland/USA is probably the most influential wine taster in the world. Whatever he says is published in his magazine "Wine Advocate", his judgement is accepted almost without contradiction by a huge fan community all over the world.

Robert Parker's 100-point system, which is based on American school grading, has now been adopted worldwide. For Italy, for many years, evaluated chief taster Antonio Galloni, since his progress into the independence (vinous.com) took over this area Monica Larner. She was born in California, but has lived in Italy for many years.

Larner is a certified sommelier with the Italian Sommelier Association AIS, wrote for the daily newspaper La Repubblica for a long time and then spent ten years as the Italian specialist for wine enthusiasts. She is highly regarded by Italian winegrowers and is an excellent taster. Their commitment has once again brought Parker a much better reputation in Italy. SUPERIORE.DE
