100% Carricante from one of the youngest and, at the same time, most promising cru vineyards on the northern slopes of Mount Etna: Contrada Taccione lies at an altitude of around 700 metres in Castiglione di Sicilia, characterised by volcanic sand, basalt rock and ash dating back thousands of years. It is a landscape in constant flux, shaped by lava, wind and time. It is precisely this interplay between barrenness and energy that Planeta translates here into a wine that seems tailor-made for subtlety.

In the glass, it is a pale, almost silvery straw yellow with a greenish tinge. The aroma is pure and precise: white peach, salted lemon and a hint of wild herbs. Added to this are notes of wet stones and a subtle, iodine-like hint that immediately brings to mind high altitudes and the sea. On the palate, it is taut and focused, with lively yet ripe acidity, cool fruit and a mineral depth that is subtle yet striking. The wine glides across the palate like a clear, delicate thread.
