“Rosa di Ceparano” Rosato Ravenna IGT 2024 (BIO)
Delicate pale pink colour with hints of onion skin. Fruity bouquet of pomegranate, white pepper, wisteria and peach. Firm, fresh palate with flavours of cherry, raspberry and citrus fruit, then fresh spiciness with hints of minerals and lime zest on the finish. A fascinating and complex rosato that is very refreshing, zesty and distinctive. SUPERIORE.DE

“Ceregio” Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore DOC 2023
Ceregio is designed as an early ready-to-drink wine due to its quicker and lighter vinification. Intense ruby red colour. Red fruits in the glass, especially cherry and pomegranate. Good correspondence with the nose on the palate, juicy and vinous, with good tannin density and reasonable length. A "wine for every day" with refinement and an enviable balance, it presents its beautiful concentration and fruitiness without frills. SUPERIORE.DE

“Bianco di Ceparano” Albana secco Romagna DOCG 2024
Dry Albana with real personality: "Bianco di Ceparano" comes from organically cultivated vines in the hills near Faenza. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine matures for around five months on the fine lees in cement tanks. Brilliant straw yellow in the glass with a greenish tinge. The aroma is clear and fine: acacia blossom, grapefruit, white peach and a delicate tropical note. Dry, lively and well-structured on the palate, with brilliant acidity, fine minerality and a delicate almondy finish. A modern Albana with freshness and an expression of origin - a confident interpretation. SUPERIORE.DE

“Pietramora” Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva DOC 2018
Cristina Geminiani is one of the leading figures behind the revitalisation of Romagna DOC. In 1985, she began making wine on her grandfather's estate, Fattoria Zerbina. Her wines have personality and technical precision. The vineyards are planted as bush vines in the Marzeno subzone. The Pietramora has an elegant, restrained nose of dark plums, black cherries, dried roses, cocoa and tobacco. On the palate, it displays rich and intense fruit with grippy tannins balanced by zesty acidity, with a lingering, savoury finish. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Marzieno" Rosso Ravenna IGT 2019]()
“Marzieno” Rosso Ravenna IGT 2019
Over the years, Marzieno has developed its own personality and, above all, its own credibility, making it, according to critics, one of the few red wines from the Ravenna region that can compete with the best Italian red wines of its kind. It presents itself as a multi-layered and fresh Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot, which give it depth. In its dynamic flavour with a long finish, it relies above all on the substance of its abundant, elegant tannins and very serious fruit. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Arrocco" Passito Albana di Romagna DOCG 2023 dolce]()
“Arrocco” Passito Albana di Romagna DOCG 2023 dolce
Arrocco is one of the dessert wines that made Zerbina famous. The decision to concentrate on noble rot forces the winery to ruthlessly select the grapes every year and, if nature does not play along, to do without. In the years when everything is right, this is rewarded with a terrificsweet wine in terms of structure, character and longevity. Old golden colour. Notes of apricot, sweet spiced fruit, honey and caramelised fig on the nose. Wide, harmonious and long-lasting final. SUPERIORE.DE

Only 2,500 bottles were bottled in this vintage. Light golden yellow in colour. The dense bouquet exudes the aroma of quinces and dried apricots, with a high viscosity in the glass and on the palate. The high residual sugar is offset by a racy acidity. Orange peel flavour in the long finish. SUPERIORE.DE

“Monografia 3” Sangiovese di Romagna Marzeno Riserva DOC 2018 · 0,75l in OWC
Here comes the third vintage of Zerbina's single-vineyard Sangiovese, with which the winery once again proves in a very small edition (< 1,000 bottles) what great Sangiovese Romagna can produce. Dark-fruited, full nose with a cornucopia of dark berry fruits and hints of forest floor, tar and white ash. Firm on the palate, enormously complex, the concentrated fruit gradually opens up with further airing and a Sangiovese work of art is revealed that could not be more typical, pure and at the same time more complex. Great compliment! SUPERIORE.DE

The success story of Emilia-Romagna is marked by a common thread: thanks to her conscientiousness and meticulousness, Cristina Geminiani has become a wine producer who, more than other winegrowers in the region, embodies these important characteristics. The owner of the estate, who values time, dedication, competence and courage very much, recognized the great potential of winegrowing in Romagna early on and at a time when only a few believed in success. The Fattoria Zerbina, run by her and her brother Vincenzo, is situated on the slopes of the Tuscan-Emilian Appenine in the municipality of Marzeno, in the valley of the river of the same name, just a few kilometres from Faenza. Under the leadership of its passionate brothers and sisters, the company has undoubtedly developed over the years into a top producer with a clear identity.
While Vincenzo is mainly concerned with business matters, Cristina, who holds a doctorate in agronomy, often travels on the weathered red clay soils of the vineyards newly planted since 1990. Their work at Fattoria Zerbina shows that on the hills of Faenza not only Sangiovese can produce outstanding powerful and elegant wines, but also Albana for wines with noble rot and Ancelotta as a minor addition can enrich the assortment of the house.
The fact that the siblings sometimes take unconventional paths can be seen, for example, in the fact that they planted the vineyard Il Pozzo with single vines, not in trellis but in small trees. The greatest advantage of this traditional form of education is the openness of the vine to all sides. Dessert wines are a speciality of the Romagna winery. One or the other Passito can be found again and again at tastings on the top ranks. The drops of the Fattoria Zerbina convince by an excellent price enjoyment ratio.
As far as the cellar is concerned, the Fattoria Zerbina hardly has anything particularly modern or even revolutionary to offer. The best grapes ferment partly in very large steel tanks, which allows a better, but at the same time gentle and gentle extraction of the tannins. Fermentation is also carried out in the traditional steel tank, using the technique of draining (Délestage). The owners of the estate are also convinced that cement tanks are particularly suitable for blending and refining the wines before bottling. Since 2003, selected batches of red wine have been fermented directly in barriques with manual undercutting and without temperature control. The aim is to express the specificity of the grapes and soils even better than in previous years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Vineyards in full bloom and a conscientious work on the vine and in the winery produce wines that are always among the top wines in the region in terms of quality, and which are rigorous and powerful, so to speak voluminous and always supported by a beautiful freshness due to the stylistic choices and the vocation of the region."Gambero Rosso
