In the pantheon of Tuscan winemaking, there are moments of pure alchemy – and Sette from Tenuta Sette Ponti embodies just such a moment. Seven different Merlot vineyards, seven distinct characters, seven unique terroirs, which Antonio Moretti Cuseri blends into a harmonious symphony. A magnificent tribute to the art of winemaking, demonstrating how unity arises from diversity.

Cypresses, Salvareccio I and II, Poggio Sinistro, Sorbaccio, Nocetta I and II: each of these seven organically farmed vineyards has its own climatic identity, ranging from north-facing to south-facing slopes at an altitude of 250–300 metres. These 15–20-year-old Merlot vines thrive in the clay- and sand-rich soils of the Valdarno, each shaped by its exposure, location and terroir. And year after year, following careful tasting, the winemaking team selects the three best "Stiori" – as the old vineyards are affectionately known – whose characteristics perfectly suit the respective vintage and which are then documented on the back label.

The 2022 vintage displays an intense ruby red colour with purple highlights and unfolds a bouquet of small red fruits, blackberries and plums, interwoven with toasted notes. On the palate, it is structured and persistent, with silky, elegant tannins that bear witness to careful selection and artisanal skill. A rare Merlot with unique complexity and class. SUPERIORE.DE
