“Rossofonte” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020
Rossofonte impressively closes the gap between Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello. Only 6,000 bottles are produced from this selection from the best Rosso sites of the winery at about 300 m above sea level. Fruity aromas of ripe berries with balsamic notes on the nose, plus some brown spices, tobacco and wet rock. Overall, a multi-layered potpourri full of harmony flows from the glass, on the palate it is very balanced, velvety-soft and the cooling acidity caresses the dark berries, rounded off by dried citrus fruits and a hint of mocha. The spicy and very elegant finish is reminiscent of star anise and pink pepper. SUPERIORE.DE
"Subtle caramel to the very ripe and flavoursome berry fruits and oranges. Very tasty on the palate with firm tannins, fresh medium acidity and a spicy, medium-long finish." James Suckling
"This is an excellent wine (at an affordable price) that you can always rely on when planning an informal dinner with family and friends. The Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona 2020 Rosso di Montalcino Rossofonte is bright and lively with lovely cherry fruit, raspberry and redcurrant. The flavours are vibrant and bright, and the wine offers good textural tension." Wine Advocate
"The Rosso di Montalcino Rossofonte 2020 is dark, floral, gloomy and captivating. It seduces with aromas of dried black cherries, cedar, exotic spices and a hint of cocoa. On the palate, it shows pure elegance with a silky texture that introduces waves of ripe red and black fruits balanced by a core of mineral acidity. The 2020 finishes with a bitter hint of sour wild berries and liquorice and finishes with medium length. This is a more immediate style for Rossofonte, but one that I find very attractive." Vinous
"Elegant Rosso from a top estate, but above all convincing with its fresh fruitiness, agreeability and drinking pleasure." Vinum
"Bright ruby red. The nose shows aromas of raspberries and currants with notes of plums, herbs, earth and dried flowers. In the mouth elegant, fruity, spicy and very long, great Rosso di Montalcino." Falstaff

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022
Pine wood, smoke and pale blue violets on the nose, along with red cherry, flint and herbal aromas. Very fresh and juicy on the palate, with a fine sweetness of red fruit and herbal flavours, which are really given momentum by a peppery component in the long, lively, youthful and crisp finish. Made from over 20-year-old Sangiovese vines, this is a beautiful cherry-accentuated and also surprisingly spicy and powerful, very grippy Rosso di Montalcino with a desire for more - it still needs a little time for the final development. Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva 2023
Altesino | Tuscany
Green with golden yellow reflections. A fruity and complex olive oil, artichoke and wild thistle on the nose, sweet and bitter on the palate, with a slightly spicy, medium-hot finish. The high-quality oil is obtained exclusively from the first mechanical cold pressing and comes from the estate's own olive groves at an altitude of around 300 metres. SUPERIORE.DE

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020
On the nose, mineral-tinged black cherry, damp earth tones, autumn leaves and a hint of animal musk. On the palate, strawberries tending towards cranberry, spices with citrus notes, a touch of tannin and pretty red flowers. The wine delights into the sweeping finish, leaving an impression more reminiscent of a Brunello than a Rosso. Simply stunning. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is bright and loaded with a fresh, buoyant personality focused on red cherry, cassis and bitter almond. There are hints of ferrous earth and crushed aspirin that add extra contours and edging to this fun, easy-drinking Rosso." Wine Advocate

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020
The grapes for Poggio Anticos Rosso have always come from 100% Brunello sites and the wine is a real insider tip for Montalcino lovers. After some aeration, it beguiles the nose with an overwhelming bouquet of spices, ripe red cherries and fine leather notes. The palate is full, firm and fleshy, the structure very polished and balanced. A Rosso that, with some patience and further bottle ageing, could well be a Brunello: precise, delicious and with a beautiful, long final full of depth and a delightful final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Blue-fruit with some slate and bark aromas follow through to a medium body with chewy tannins and a fresh finish." James Suckling
"Milk chocolate, roses and blackcurrants on the nose, beguiling and appealing. Lively and juicy, bright and high toned, it's light almost, in a sense the flavours are so bright and alive but with texture and grip. Fresh strawberries, red cherries and blackcurrants but lifted with a fresh and cool edge that gives the palate so much joy. A great wine and an affordable price. Succulent and ripe but effortlessly framed. Really a wine you could drink today and enjoy it's youthful exuberance - in fact, it screams drink me now. An excellent food wine." Decanter

Neri's classic Rosso di Montalcino opens with a bouquet of dark red fruits, forest floor, earthy minerality and peppery herbs. Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020 (BIO)
Medium ruby red. Opens with ripe fruit notes of redcurrants, wild cherries and dried raspberries, then grilled herbs and liquorice in the background. This Rosso is more powerful and opulent than many of its competitors, almost reaching the intensity of a Brunello. Nevertheless, the aromas are more precise than one would expect from a young red wine. The delicate tannin has reached a certain stage of maturity and finds a lively ally in the well-proportioned acidity, which keeps the flavour development going for all eternity. SUPERIORE.DE

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (BIO)
With the 2018 vintage, Camigliano joins the still very small community of certified organic winegrowers in Montalcino. Everything is in the right place here and Camigliano's 2018 edition of Brunello di Montalcino presents the classic vintage in a very appealing form. Accessible early on, it reveals its fruity bouquet with notes of Mediterranean scrub, small red berries and eucalyptus. The palate is then medium-bodied, the primary flavours are beautifully reflected here, its freshness and well-proportioned acidity allow it to dance into a remarkable finish. For us, this is a wonderful (and also very attractively priced) entry into the Sangiovese Olympus of Montalcino, fruit-orientated, graceful and full of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium, warm red colour; ripe fruit notes, very appealing; lots of sweetness, juicy, warm, fruity length, off-dry, very appealing." Merum
"Bright, sparkling ruby red colour. Aromas of mint and fine wood, red berry fruit, a hint of tropical fruit, beautiful strawberry, complex, expressive nose. Polished and juicy on the palate, with radiant fruit, already wonderfully accessible, drinks very well." Falstaff
"The bouquet of the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino exhibits an almost candied quality, while sweet roses and medicinal cherries give way to nuances of shaved cedar and pine. This is a medium-bodied and graceful Sangiovese with a bright acidity that gives it an almost juicy character. Hints of strawberry and minty herbs resonate as it finishes only lightly structured but with admirable length. I wouldn't recommend long cellaring, but the 2018 will show wonderfully after just a few years." Vinous
"The Camigliano 2018 Brunello di Montalcino, a certified organic wine, is medium-dark in colour with round and ripe aromas of cherry confit, blackberry tart, black rose and balsamic herbs. The wine is structured and rich. This power deprives the delicate Sangiovese of its long-term potential and instead places the grape in a short or medium-term drinking window." Wine Advocate
"A ripe and full-bodied Brunello with intense notes of cassis, stewed plums and Kalamata olives. Also some grilled herbs. Broad and creamy tannins with lots of rich fruit. Concentrated and full of flavour." James Suckling
"Ripe and opulent, boasting macerated cherry, plum, eucalyptus and iron flavors matched to a muscular structure. Shows beefy tannins that take over on the finish, yet this feels balanced, with a beam of cherry persisting through the conclusion." Wine Spectator
"The nose offers cherries, vanilla and toasted coconut over aromas of leather, flint and redcurrants. On the palate, blackberries and dried cranberries emphasise the cherries, while dusty tannins swim in a dense undertow of chocolate and sambuca. A lively acidity ensures a long, warm finish." Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021
Good, full red colour. Captivating aromas and flavours of ripe red cherry, spicy herbs and blackcurrant jelly are interwoven with bright liquorice and blood orange nuances. An exceptional Rosso that combines richness and vibrancy in a remarkably harmonious way. Closes creamy yet refined. Wow, this is more than the little brother of Brunello di Montalcino! SUPERIORE.DE
"A burst of crushed raspberry and sweet smoke comes together with cloves, cinnamon sticks and hints of worn leather as the 2021 Rosso di Montalcino opens in the glass. This is softly textured yet lifted in feel with ripe red fruits propelled by juicy acidity, as rosy inner florals add further depth. The 2021 tapers off structured and long, leaving the mouth watering even as grippy tannins resonate. The 2021 found excellent balance in this warm vintage." Vinous
"Here comes an intense and fruit-expressive Rosso di Montalcino that delivers excellent richness and freshness on the nose. Mineral, ripe strawberries, red plums and walnuts to the nose follow through to a tight, medium- to full-bodied palate. Quite vertical and structured with lots of tannins that give a comfortably grippy closure to the long, tight finish. A serious, outstanding Rosso di Montalcino." James Suckling

“Gauggiole” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020
Gauggiole comes from a single vineyard in the north-east of the Castiglion del Bosco estate and is vinified exclusively in concrete barrels. Bright, lively red. On the nose, fresh red berry fruits with delicate herbal notes. Well structured in the mouth with cool red fruit flavours like cherry, floral nuances of violet and peppery notes on the finish. Well balanced on the palate with fine tannins and good ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red. Beautifully deep nose with fantastic focus. Juicy fruit, supple and elegant but with a little more concentration than L'America and rich, enveloping tannins." Jancis Robinson
"The Rosso di Montalcino Gauggiole 2020 is a pretty and discreet expression with a bouquet of wild strawberries and peppery herbs. It is silky and has a cool character, while red berries and mineral tones slowly unfold. The finish is classically dry with an acidic citrus note that adds nicely to the expression. The Gauggiole comes from a single vineyard in the north-east of the Castiglion del Bosco estate. It is aged in concrete barrels." Vinous
"Here is a new surprise from Castiglion del Bosco. The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino Gauggiole is made from a selection of fruit from a 20-hectare vineyard with rich clay soils and is quite soft and silky from the start. The wine offers a delicate ensemble of wild berries, cherries, blue flowers and white pepper. Pretty background tones of crushed limestone and iron ore give the wine a sense of place. All in all, this is an elegant expression that highlights the true personality of young Sangiovese." Wine Advocate
"Notes of redcurrants, flowers and undergrowth on the nose; compact in the mouth, in perfect harmony between structure and acidity, smooth finish on notes of wild berries and spices. Excellent with pasta and light meat dishes." Vinum

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Beautiful and very well-balanced red wine from the three main historical areas of Montalcino, which have different geoclimatic characteristics due to their different slopes and altitudes - and thus provide a unique balance between freshness and structure, body and elegance. Ruby red in colour with garnet hues, it opens immediately with a rich, complex nose. Initially dark cherry, chinotto orange and violet. It then opens up to broader, more complex notes of blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon and chocolate with a subtle menthol finish. The primary fruit is surrounded by spice, grilled herbs and floral earth; nice length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Cherry and tomato leaf on the nose, then a fine leather flavour. Good freshness and juicy fruit on the palate, shows firm body and pressure, accessible, delicately bitter on the final." Falstaff
"Deep ruby red colour. Compact and dense on the nose with notes of sweet raspberries and fresh mint. Lots of sweet raspberry fruit on the palate with a tangy acid nerve that runs through the fullness of the fruit. Firm but ripe and fine-grained tannins. A fairly rich wine, but one that will probably age well." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino exudes hints of wild berries, violet pastille and sweet smoke. This is a seductive effort with juicy acidity and vibrant red and blue fruits swirling throughout. Autumnal spices and dark chocolate slowly saturate towards the finish. The 2019 finishes long yet remarkably fresh with a hint of liquorice and slightly grippy tannins. The 2019 aims to please and will provide early satisfaction after a short stay in the cellar while the single-vineyard wines slowly mature." Vinous
"The Brunello from the Val di Suga vineyard is made up of equal parts from the Vigna del Lago vineyard in the north-east, Poggio al Granchio in the south-east and Vigna Spuntali in the south-west of Montalcino. The bright ruby red colour and youthful freshness are well preserved. Concentrated aromas of red cherry with a hint of pepper fade into deep violet and sweet earth. The medium-bodied palate is appealing and pure, offering layers of lush red berry and plump persimmon flavours underscored by juicy acidity. The sandy textured tannins are supple and yielding. Hard to resist." Decanter

“Rapace” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
Uccelliera is not only famous for its outstanding Brunello every year, the Rapace, which has now become an icon, also demonstrates the high quality with which the winery has been delighting wine connoisseurs all over the world for decades. Deep, dark ruby red in colour, the aroma spectrum is skilfully balanced with a mix of dark red cherries, plums, liquorice, smoke, spices and menthol. The beautifully cherry-like primary fruit is embedded in a warm texture, the silky tannin skilfully takes over on the sidelines and the wine storms into a long, nuanced and delicately mineral finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Uccelliera 2020 Rapace that opens to autumnal aromas of earth and dry leaf. The blend is predominately Sangiovese, and those earthy notes underline the intensity of the dominant grape in the blend. Beyond that, you get iris root, blackcurrant, sour plum and a hint of roasted bell pepper. You definitely recognize the wine's Montalcino DNA, but the mouthfeel is broader and richer thanks to the two French grapes." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Camigliano's Brunello di Montalcino 2019 shows impressive balance and integrity. It contrasts the delicate sweetness of the fruit beautifully with the ethereal and liquorice-like aromas that simply come automatically to Sangiovese when it is grown on the south side of the spectacular Montalcino appellation. Blood orange, redcurrant and wild blueberry on the nose, with a hint of salt and herbaceous notes in the background. On the palate, it impresses with its balanced intensity and lively tannins. The harmonious, very juicy finish then surprises with playful notes of warm cherry sweetness, which virtually represents the footprint of Camigliano's wine identity, complemented by a fine mineral vein. This is a highly respectable Camigliano wine from a wonderful vintage, in which the winery is able to fully capitalise on the perfect climate of the vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino exudes a pretty bouquet of dried roses and strawberries accompanied by Tuscan dust. It is silky-smooth and polished, with ripe red berries flowing over a stream of vibrant acidity. Orange and cedar notes linger as the 2019 finishes with soft tannins and a pleasantly bitter note." Vinous
"Lots of dried fruit, such as figs, dried plums and savoury herbs, followed by lingering dried meat notes and sweet and sour undertones. Medium-bodied with polished tannins. A slightly nutty aftertaste." James Suckling
"The Camigliano 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers a combination of dark fruits, ripe blackberries and roasted cardamom or cumin from 24 months of ageing in large oak barrels. This organically grown wine shows a rich concentration and oak-driven intensity that fits into the context of classic Brunello. Ultimately, the wine reflects a warm growing area with a mixture of clay, sand and rocky soils. It offers a light texture on the mid-palate with chalky tannins." Wine Advocate
"The fruit is on the darker side for the vintage, evoking black cherry, blackberry and dark plum flavors, while earth and wild herb accents add detail. Tightly knit tannins quickly intervene, leaving a compact, powdery feel on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The beautiful label of a sustainable project, that of the Ghezzi family, which focuses on the manic care of farm labour. Notes of wild strawberries on the nose, a hint of rosehip and ginger, then lemon sage. Iodised, salty tannins on the palate, with floral notes." Luca Gardini

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020
Le Ragnaie's harmonious and graceful Rosso di Montalcino captivates with its multi-layered bouquet of sour cherries and musk, which deepens further with crushed dried roses, minty herbs and a pinch of savoury spice. Silky and smooth on the palate, but its energy and tension remain high throughout. Wild strawberries with sweet tannins continue to build towards the end. The wine is elegant and feminine and finishes classically dry and balanced with mineral notes and a hint of liquorice that linger for a long time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Palish ruby. Lifted sour-cherry and cranberry fruit with an exotic spice note. Elegant, nervy red fruit that dances over the palate." Jancis Robinson
"The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is intense, with a burst of crushed rocks and exotic spice giving way to medicinal black cherries. This is velvety and pliant, with a dense wave of mineral-laden wild berry fruit lifted by brisk acidity. It finishes savory and with tension, leaving a tug of primary concentration to linger. Unlike most 2020s Le Ragnaie has captured much more complexity and depth." Vinous

“Rapace” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
Rapace 2021 opens with a medium-dark colour and a beautiful concentration that is not too heavy and not too light. The bouquet offers dark fruits and plums. These primary flavours are framed by sweet spices, cedar wood and tobacco. Delicate oak elements add depth and texture to the wine. It is perfect as an accompaniment from starters to main courses with meat. SUPERIORE.DE

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018
"Warm dark red; reductive, warm, ripe fruit flavours, inviting; juicy, fine, fruit, pleasant tannin, long." Merum
"Tart, somewhat dried-vegetable to herbaceous and a hint of tobacco on the nose, predominantly black berries with a hint of black olives and capers, cumin, fleshy traces and some smoke. Youthful, quite taut, juicy fruit, present, ripe tannins and a certain acid bite, roasted nuances, again also black olives, plus a little coffee and coffee grounds, salt in the background, quite firm structure, persistent, slightly chocolaty on a very good finish." Wein-Plus
"Sparkling, brilliant ruby red colour. Delicate orange zest, cedar wood, rosemary and rosehip on the nose, with a floral touch and cherry. Juicy, clear on the palate, with youthful tannins, savoury and accessible, showing a fine juicy-salty touch." Falstaff
"For the 2018 vintage, Val di Suga has rebranded its labels to reflect its updated approach in the vineyard and cellar. This includes a less oxidative style of Brunello that spends less time in wood and more time in the bottle. However, the estate's classic Brunello is still a blend of the three different vineyard sites in Montalcino. The smoky, autumnal nose has aromas of rooibos tea with hints of cranberry and rosehip. It's lean in shape, has strong acidity and offers a lovely sweetness of red berry fruit and flowers, while light tannins provide a graceful frame. Ready to drink." Decanter
"A filigree red wine with aromas and flavours of sweet red berries, rose, truffle, game and minerals, supported by firm but refined tannins, with a long finish. It is suitable for eating now, but will be even better in a year or two." Wine Spectator
"A solid product from a winery that has now reached a very reliable standard. Sour cherries on the nose, floral notes of peony and medicinal herbs, dried thyme, with a balsamic finish. Dense mouthfeel, spicy tannins, fruity finish." Luca Gardini
"The nose is a well-stocked kitchen, with coffee always ready, a decadent spice drawer and expensive balsamic, and the aromas of cherries and soil wafting in from the garden. On the palate, notes of vanilla and candied orange underscore the cherries' juicy sweetness, while the savory notes linger as undertones, before lithe tannins and hot acid usher in a long finish." “Ginestreto” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021
Light ruby colour. Rich bouquet of red cherry, strawberry, chocolate and violet. Generous and lively on the palate of rhubarb, strawberry cake and sour cherry, the fruit is beautifully concentrated and full. The nobly knitted tannin structure leads this multi-layered and very serious Sangiovese into a charming, mineral finish. Every year, Fuligni produces a wine that is outstanding for the appellation and, in terms of style, is an ingenious crossover between tradition and modernity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium ruby red colour. Seductive and fresh aroma of wild red fruits. Lots of tension and the finest tannins. Beautiful balance between lively fruit and mouth-filling freshness and dry texture. Very long." Jancis Robinson
"The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto is gorgeous, blossoming before my eyes with a heady blend of sweet rose petals, dried black cherries and autumnal spice. Its textures are pure and silky, as a polished wave of ripe red fruits and cooling mineral tones wash across the palate. Rich raspberry and balsamic spice hints linger, and the 2021 finishes crisp and fresh yet still youthfully structured. This is one of the prettiest interpretations of Ginestreto I've experienced, yet that's not to say it's any less powerful." Vinous
"From young vines, barely more than 10 years old, but already of exceptional quality, a red wine aged in wood and steel with a very intense nose, blueberry, then notes of thyme and marjoram, a juicy palate, iodised tannins, a very persistent finish with fruity-balsamic notes." Luca Gardini

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021
On the nose, mineral-tinged black cherry, damp earth tones, autumn leaves and a hint of animal musk. On the palate, strawberries tending towards cranberry, spices with citrus notes, a hint of tannin and pretty red flowers. The wine continues to delight right into the lively finish and leaves an impression that is more reminiscent of a Brunello than a Rosso. Simply stunning. SUPERIORE.DE
"This wine is characterised by its fresh acidity and great underlying fruit. When savouring the Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto 2021 Rosso di Montalcino, you can really taste fresh cherry and raspberry. The wine captures the essence of a classic Rosso, intended for easy drinking and short-term ageing potential. This vintage delivers particularly cheerful and lively results." Wine Advocate
"Split cedar and pine give way to dusty rose and dried black cherries as the darkly alluring 2021 Rosso di Montalcino blossoms in the glass. Its plush textures and ripe dark red fruits flaunt their southern Montalcino terroir as brisk acidity and mineral tones maintain a lovely balance. The 2021 finishes lightly structured yet still energetic, enlivened by a lingering spiced citrus note. Short-term cellaring is recommended." Vinous
