It's velvety in texture, fleshing out across the palate with a staining of rich dark fruits and minerals under an air of lavender and purple-tinged florals. A fine coating of tannin settles in, creating a youthfully structured feel, and a bitter twang of savory spice. Salted licorice lingers incredibly long.       "Enticing aromas of ripe dark-skinned fruit, fragrant purple flower, Mediterranean scrub and dark spice escape the glass. On the firmly structured palate, taut fine-grained tannins accompany Marasca cherry, cassis, tobacco and star anise. The assertive finish closes on a note of roasted coffee bean." Wine Enthusiast

      "Bright, deep red-ruby. Precise but restrained aromas of strawberry nectar, raspberry, violet and licorice. At once fresh and powerful, with harmonious acidity lifting the youthfully tight structure and supporting creamy ripe red and black fruit flavors complicated by tar and herbs. Long, serious and brooding, this is distinctly more powerful than the usual style of Turriga. I’m not usually a fan of needlessly bigger, tannic wines with little grace or balance, but this Turriga is at once powerful and refined. The very long, floral finish displays excellent focus."       "The 2016 Isola dei Nuraghi Turriga is intense, spicy and packed full of tart blackberry and cherry, further complicated by shavings of cedar and animal musk. It's silky and polished in feel, displaying an unexpected elegance. The dark fruits and exotic spice give way to grippy tannins and minerals toward the close. The palate aches under its youthful tension, with notes of black currants, bitter coffee and tobacco lasting for well over a minute. The 2016 Turriga will need some time in the cellar to show its best, but it will be worth the wait." Vinous
