“Sol” Sauvignon Bianco Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2019
"I think it's safe to say that Serena Palazzolo and her husband Christian Patat are at the top of their game, which means that the wines of Ronco del Gnemiz are among the best made in Friuli today. There is a lot to choose from here, because the transparency of the terroir is paramount. It may be easier to sell and market one or two Sauvignons, Chardonnay or Friulano wines, but the differences between each hill, each site and the age of each vineyard create such unique expressions that it would be a shame not to produce all six.
Standing on the hill where this winery is located, looking out over Rosazzo in the Colli Orientali, it becomes clear why these vineyard designations are so important to the future of the region. These hills rise and fall like bubbles rising from the earth and dropping to the horizon. I can imagine a winemaker's fascination with each of these unique sites. If you were to make a short list of the best producers in Friuli, you should put Ronco del Gnemiz at the top of the list." Vinous
Strong yellow-green, dense bouquet packed with opulent fruit aromas. On the palate complex, juicy and very well integrated wood notes. Despite its extroverted nature, the Sauvignon Sol never loses its essential minerality and elegance. Possesses class, length and potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Sol is a little more extroverted and fruit-driven than the Péri, but that doesn't mean it lacks character and verve. Dried apricot, peach and vanilla bean gain depth with a squeeze of lime and a hint of wild herbs. The soft, almost oily texture is balanced by notes of tart green apple, ginger and zesty spice, creating an expression of contrast. Hints of kiwi, sour melon and salty mineral tones linger impressively as the residual acids slowly fade. The Sol comes from a lower parcel in the estate's vineyards, planted on rocky, chalky soils." Sauvignon Peri comes from the oldest vines on the estate and is a very classic, downright austere interpretation of Sauvignon Bianco. Vintage 2017 offers a lot of varietal character and is very aromatic, yet has a very fine coolness. Green apple, pear, gooseberry and spices meld into a multi-layered and deep finish. For us, it is a classic white meditation wine. SUPERIORE.DE

“Abbazia di Rosazzo” Bianco Rosazzo DOCG 2017
Rich cuvée from the white grape varieties of Friuli. The bouquet of white flowers and yellow fruits has a pleasant smoky note. In the taste opulent flavours of yellow and white fruits, dried apricots and honey, the balanced acid gives backbone and structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Livio Felluga 2017 Rosazzo Abbazia di Rosazzo is a beautiful choice made from a carefully contemplated blend of Friulano, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla. The wine is balanced and bountiful with orchard fruit, peach, honey and Golden Delicious apple. There is so much intensity and brightness here, and each one of the individual grapes fits together with jigsaw puzzle precision. The warm vintage adds softness, extra density and concentration. But the wine is elegant, fresh and mineral-driven nonetheless. If you are looking for a benchmark white from Friuli, look no further." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of pear skin, waxed lemon, dried pineapple, yoghurt and sea salt. It’s medium-to full-bodied with tangy acidity and a waxy texture. Fantastic concentration and phenolic texture. Beautifully layered with a mineral, saline finish. Long and complex." James Suckling

“San Zuan” Friulano Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
San Zuan is an attractive, well-proportioned white wine made from 100% Friulano grapes. Complex, savoury bouquet of white peaches and pears, flowers, crushed rocks and a subtle earthiness with notes of ginger and flint. Full and balanced on the palate, yet elegant, with a certain salty minerality, a hint of candied lemon, great length and beautiful ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2022 Friulano San Zuan wafts up with a sweetly scented bouquet of smoky peaches and pears elevated by mint hints. This is pleasantly ripe in style with silky textures and a glycerol feel, giving way to masses of green melon and spices. The 2022 finishes long and potent yet still remarkably fresh, leaving a tinge of candied lime." Vinous

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Corrado di Manzano” Chardonnay Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
The grapes for the Chardonnay Corrado di Manzano come from a small parcel of the Manzano vineyard. This delicious white is rich, atmospheric and full of character. It blossoms with baked apple, floral notes, hints of brown spices and vanilla pods. A sense of opulence sets in as its seamless, velvety texture slowly reveals ripe fruit trees and hints of custard. However, the vibrant acids keep the balance and slowly build up a tension that continues through to the final, framing everything beautifully. A hint of citrus and minerals lingers for a long time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lifted and refined, the 2022 Chardonnay Corrado di Manzano blossoms in the glass with a mix of crushed rocks and ripe peach accentuated by mint aromas. Soothingly round yet saline in character, this reverberates with tension from start to finish, coming across as more savory than sweet while leaving flinty minerals to saturate slowly. The 2022 finishes lightly structured and with medium length and a minty freshness." Vinous

Antonio Bragato, born in Germany but with an absolute Friulian identity, joined forces 20 years ago with Gianni Maccari, who was cellar master at Livio Felluga for many years and founded his own winery Ronco della Rocca at the beginning of the millennium. Maccari, who has a degree in agronomy and Oenologist, is considered one of the best-trained viticultural experts in Friuli. The profound knowledge of his own 12 hectares of vineyards as well as the leased plots and the radical precision in the execution of every operation characterise the clear style and the reliable quality of the wines that Antonio Bragato creates there together with him.
From the 2019 vintage, Antonio Bragato's wine experiment enters a new era. Since then, the team has relied on an even more rigorous selection of the oldest vines from the coolest and best sites. The results of the "New Edition" can truly be seen and tasted. They are even more radical in complexity and finesse. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the smallest editions of these wines, which confirm the many years of work and experience of the two quality fanatics!
The vines from which the Chardonnay grapes for Rio delle Rose come are over 80 years old. Fine, exotic and noticeably mineral bouquet of pome fruit, apple, citrus peel, white flowers, some flint and a hint of banana and pineapple. On the palate driven forward, with nice pressure and juicy draw, then as it progresses this fine minerality again and in the long, complex finish a very delicate, never-ending melt. Very balanced and big - with its subtle restraint and great personality, Rio delle Rose is for us one of the best Chardonnays from Friuli! SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense nose with ripe pome fruit, light flowers, herbal spice and fresh herbs, pink grapefruit, lime zest, fine wood, plus ethereal notes. Powerful in the mouth, yet very balanced thanks to the juicy train, shows itself stoffig with a lot of inner density, remains sharply contoured, enormously juicy, wonderfully dry, very classic without exuberant melting. Rather compact with a cool style." Weinwisser
"Fragrant on the nose, juicy pears, red apple, honeydew melon, lemon zest, hazelnut, meadow herbs. On the palate juicy fruit, spice, fine tannin, creamy core with lively acidity. Pleasantly salty finish, nice length." Falstaff
"An impressively concentrated Chardonnay with excellent structure and lively acidity that makes it seem lighter than it actually is. Wonderful peach fruit and delicate vanilla oak combine with fine tannins in exemplary fashion on the long, crisp and saline finish." James Suckling

Rosato Venezia Giulia IGT 2022 · MAGNUM in gift box
The Rosato from Livio Felluga is one of the rare representatives of its kind in Friuli. Beguiling bouquet of roses, pineapple and maritime rock. Elegant on the palate with fresh acidity; the fine and restrained style is somewhat reminiscent of the sought-after counterpart of Nerello Mascalese from the high altitudes of Etna. Traces of redcurrant and papaya on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE

“Ronco Basso” Chardonnay Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
The single-varietal Chardonnay Ronco Basso perfectly embodies the style of the estate and its terroir. The grapes come from a small parcel in the Rosazzo hills. Lively but deep aromas of fine straw and smoke notes, crushed almonds, young peach and exotic fruits. The flavour is elegant and perfectly balanced with sweet spice and a pleasant citrus and mineral finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2022 Chardonnay Ronco Basso is understated with a delicate bouquet that blends lime zest with nectarines and hints of vanilla bean. Luxuriously round and supple, this excels through a core of salty minerals and brisk acidity as crisp orchard fruits give way to gingery spice. Full of tension and youthfully coiled, the 2022 finishes long with a bitter tinge that should level out perfectly with maturity." Vinous

Sauvignon Salici is radiantly bright, crisp and extremely nuanced. Traces of crushed rock and mint are beautifully concentrated in the glass. "The 2022 Sauvignon Salici is delicate and floral, mixing crushed stone with lemon zest and freshly sliced nectarines. Seamless and serene, it flows across the palate with silken textures and ripe orchard fruits elevated by a twang of candied lime. Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Lozeta” Sauvignon Bianco Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
The single-vineyard Sauvignon Bianco Lozeta is the result of the avant-garde planting system, which, in contrast to the cultivation method previously practised in Friuli, not only means a higher planting density, but also the intelligent use of clones and biotypes that have been married with French offshoots. It is a further uncompromising and consistent step towards complexity and personality, with optimal utilisation and expression of the existing terroir and microclimate.
Only since the 2019 vintage has the wine found the balance and complexity that enabled Christian Patat to present it to the public in a small edition alongside the famous classics Peri, Sol and Salici. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2022 Sauvignon Lozeta lifts from the glass with an herbal thrust mixed with lemon rind shavings and crushed green apples. This is cool-toned in feel, with lime-tinged acids and mineral tones giving way to crunchy orchard fruits. The 2022 takes on a bit of a tropical flair of florals and citrus through the finale, leaving sour melon to pinch at the cheeks as a salty flourish resonates and a pleasantly bitter tinge adds a lovely punctuation." The site near Buttrio, where the grapes of the autochthonous grape variety Friulano come from, belongs, together with Rosazzo, to the Grand Crus of the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation. Here there are not only no regulations, but also a lean, loose marl soil, which ensures extremely small yields every year. In good vintages, however, one is rewarded all the more for this: the volume and fruit concentration, the lower acidity and the unmistakable saltiness of the wines will lead to pleasurable heights after a few years of bottle ageing that will make lovers of complex, energetic whites giddy. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Friulano Buri Bellaria 2020 is so pretty and perfumed, it smells like a basket of freshly picked flowers with hints of pear and chamomile. It is fleshy and enveloping, with a nice lift of acidity that enlivens the ripe peaches and melons that seduce the senses. It leaves the mouth watering and finishes remarkably fresh and spicy, with a hint of ginger that slowly tapers off." Vinous

As always, Paolo Meroi has vinified a great Friulano with classic proportions, of which one can only get hold of a bottle with difficulty due to a total production of just 1,000 bottles. As always from a microsite, this white convinces with its perfectly knit balance of fine peach notes, pear, green melon and a little honey, its vibrant acid wire and a remarkable freshness and length. Praephylloxera (literally: before phylloxera) comes from Friulano vines over 110 years old. Nutty-floral nose with notes of peach, rose petals, lime blossom, hawthorn, a hint of marzipan. Very dense with full soft body, elegant drinking flow. Great aromatic correspondence and length with fine acidity and light tannin on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"100% Tocai Friulano from up to 110-year-old vines with no roots. The mineral, well-founded bouquet reveals wonderful floral notes reminiscent of hawthorn and light flowers, delicately framed by ethereal notes, but also yellow stone fruit such as yellow peach compote and a touch of gooseberry. In the mouth it really explodes with a gigantic melt and then also shows delicate notes of white roses with fine acidity, seems to unite opposites, spicy final and you can literally feel the power and concentration of the old, rootless vines." Weinwisser
"Pleasant on the nose, fresh lemons, gooseberries, peach, hay, almonds, subtle marzipan. On the palate elegant with fine acidity, fresh fruit, lemons, gooseberries, fine spice and nice tannin on the finish. A versatile food companion that can still mature." Falstaff
"You could almost mistake this Friulano from old vines for a great Chardonnay from a warmer region (think low acidity). The chalky minerality and fine oak give structure and balance to this remarkable wine, the finish is long and complex with a hint of rose." James Suckling

“Sol” Chardonnay Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2021

The grapes for this great Chardonnay come from vines that are over 60 years old, and this shows impressively in the depth and complexity of the wine. The full bouquet exudes dusty white flowers and nuances of vanilla bean, contrasted by crushed green apple, curry leaves and rock. Sol is a contrasting, very complex Chardonnay expression with ripe fruit and a silky texture balanced by mineral acids and a hint of acidic citrus. On the palate, it leaves a vibrant tension and refreshment as it finishes with persistence and a hint of almond paste. Forget white Burgundy, the intellectual Chardonnay Sol surpasses all. "The Chardonnay Sol 2021 is quite restrained and delicate in the glass, with floral nuances, crushed stones and lime. On the palate, it is much more expressive, with a lively acidity that enlivens the mineral fruits of the orchard. It finishes with a pretty inner sweetness that balances its youthful concentration, leaving a hint of floral apple and pear flavours. The 2021 will need some time to fully develop." Vinous
"A pure Chardonnay of depth and complexity, from barrique ageing. Olfaction that opens on notes of cinnamon, then touches of white melon, wild sage and touches of lemon peel. To the drink spicy-fruity, with officinal-citrus return." Luca Gardini

“Sol” Sauvignon Bianco Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
Deep yellow-green, dense bouquet packed with opulent fruit flavours. Complex and juicy on the palate with a very well-integrated woody flavour. Despite its extroverted nature, the Sauvignon Sol never loses its essential minerality and elegance. Possesses class, length and potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"I think it's safe to say that Serena Palazzolo and her husband Christian Patat are at the top of their game, which means that the wines from Ronco del Gnemiz are among the best produced in Friuli today. The choice is vast, as the transparency of the terroir is paramount here. It may be easier to sell and market one or two Sauvignons, Chardonnays or Friulano wines, but the differences between the individual hills, the individual sites and the age of the individual vineyards create such unique expressions that it would be a shame not to produce all six.
When you stand on the hill on which this vineyard is located and look out over the Rosazzo in the Colli Orientali, it becomes clear why these vineyard designations are so important for the future of the region. These hills rise and fall like bubbles, rising from the earth and dropping to the horizon. I can imagine how fascinated a winemaker would be by each of these unique sites. If you make a short list of the best producers in Friuli, you should put Ronco del Gnemiz at the top of the list." Vinous
"Remarkably pretty, the 2022 Sauvignon Sol wafts up with sweet floral perfumes and spices complementing green melon. This washes across the palate with silky textures guided by bright acidity. Vividly ripe orchard fruits and candied citrus tones swirl throughout. Potent and long, this tapers off with a staining of primary concentration yet is full of zesty tension while leaving the mouth watering for more. A combination of richness and energy makes the 2022 Sol impossible to ignore." Vinous

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Buri Bellaria” Friulano Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
The site near Buttrio, where the grapes of the autochthonous Friulano grape variety originate, is one of the Grand Crus of the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation together with Rosazzo. Not only are there no regulations here, but also a poor, loose marl soil that ensures extremely low yields every year. In good vintages, however, the rewards are all the greater: the volume and fruit concentration, the lower acidity and the unmistakable salinity of the wines will lead to enjoyable heights after a few years of bottle ageing, making lovers of complex, energetic white wines dizzy. "The 2022 Friulano Buri Bellaria is coy in the glass, with a delicate blend of young peach and white flowers offset by hints of gingery spice. This is cool-toned and vertical in feel, with crisp minerality and ripe orchard fruits that cascade across a core of zesty acidity. It finishes long, lightly structured and staining yet remarkably fresh. Sour citrus puckers the cheeks." Vinous

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Sol” Chardonnay Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
The grapes for this magnificent Chardonnay come from vines that are over 60 years old and this is impressively reflected in the depth and complexity of the wine. The full bouquet exudes dusty white flowers and hints of vanilla pods, contrasted by crushed green apple, curry leaves and rocks. Sol is a contrasting, very complex Chardonnay expression with ripe fruit and a silky texture balanced by mineral acids and a hint of acidic citrus. On the palate, it leaves a vibrant tension and refreshment, while finishing with persistence and a hint of almond paste. SUPERIORE.DE

"White flowers give way to chamomile, vanilla bean and young peach as the 2022 Chardonnay Sol slowly blossoms in the glass. It opens with a balanced inner sweetness and an elegant textural wave of pure silk, complicated by flinty minerals that saturate as citrus-tinge orchard fruits cascade across the palate. Spicy and intense, the 2022 finishes dramatically long and tactile in feel with a crunchy sensation as the resonance of lemon custard slowly fades. While already a total pleasure today, the 2022 will require further cellaring to come fully into focus. It's simply stunning." Vinous

Grappa “AnticaCuvée 5 anni” Barrique Riserva · in gift box
AnticaCuvée is a fine, very aromatic Riserva. Nonino uses the traditional still for distillation. The inviting, clear amber colour comes from the storage in small barrels. A very special note is given to the cuvée by the small but essential addition of young grappa, which has matured for a year in Limousin barriques. Fruity, warm, velvety and long-lasting. SUPERIORE.DE

Smooth, generous red wine with beautiful notes of red fruits, sweet spices and delicate herbs, all coming together in a medium-bodied, terroir-driven style. The wine offers excellent depth, a long, elegant finish and an inspiring overall harmony. SUPERIORE.DE

“W.... Dreams ..." Bianco Venezia Giulia IGT 2021
"W.... Dreams ... ......" has stood for "Where Dreams can happen" since the 2003 vintage and originates from "Where the Dreams have no end", which was first pressed with the 1987 harvest. The '96 to '02 vintages were labelled "Were Dreams now it's just Wine".
Very expressive with aromas of lime blossom, jasmine, incense and warm peach skin, this wine crackles with vibrant acidity, delicately interwoven with layers of ripe yellow melon and apple fruit, salted almonds and candied ginger. A noble white wine that lingers on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense straw yellow colour. Great intensity and depth of white and yellow fruit, supported by a hint of oak. You can sense the greatness of the vintage. The oak emphasises the fruit on the palate and is perfectly integrated. Sensational balance." Jancis Robinson
"The 2021 Where Dreams Have No End is finessed and graceful with a nuanced bouquet that blends white flowers and peach sorbet with hints of vanilla and sweet spice. It’s elegant and supple with silken textures and ripe orchard fruits that flow across a stream of mineral-tinged acidity. The 2021 leaves a spicy concentration and resonance of tart lemon peel while tapering off long and tense. This is a youthfully compact vintage of Dreams, a varietal Chardonnay. Patience will be required." Vinous
"Powerful, sparkling straw yellow colour. Slightly restrained on the nose, opens with delicate notes of camomile, then full flavours of apricot, banana and lychee. Blossoms beautifully on the palate, round and extremely smooth, shows good pressure, with a subtle bitter note on the final." Falstaff
"It's attractive and fresh with notes of glazed lemons and apples as well as young hazelnuts, savoury herbs and custard. Also some spices. Full-bodied and complex with consistent acidity that gives shape to every detail of the fruit. Some attractive spicy nuances before a mineral finish. A complex but very approachable wine that is already drinking beautifully but can also last a long time." James Suckling
