In 1984, Count Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita wanted to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary with his wife Franca by creating a wine that told the family story and at the same time the story of the Tenuta. The uniqueness of the grape composition shows his romantic spirit: Inzolia and Sauvignon of the Tasca selection, the selection of a vineyard in Regaleali that dates back to the end of the First World War. The use of selected yeasts from the estate's own vineyards links this wine even more inextricably to the terroir from which it comes. Fresh in its youth, the wine is unexpectedly age-worthy, balancing its tertiary aromas with the intensity of the fruit.

The quality of Italian white wines has risen sharply in the last 20 years, and this also applies to Verdicchio. There are still quite a few bad old-fashioned wines, but the good ones can be a revelation. The region around Matelica in particular has made Verdicchio famous, as the best representatives of its type come from here - and mostly from the higher vineyards: complex, mineral, fresh and long-lasting.

Vigneto Fogliano is produced only in the best years from a careful selection of Verdicchio grapes from the best vineyard of the Biscis. On the nose, it presents green fruit with beautiful notes of honeydew melon and summer jasmine. Its deep, multi-layered flavours of apples, pears, fresh citrus fruits and a hint of menthol caress the palate creamily, before a salty minerality and fresh acidity take over and help the wine achieve a perfection that is second to none. La Grola is the eponymous, historic vineyard where Corvina, the indigenous grape of Valpolicella, is believed to have originated. The replanting of the vineyard by Giovanni Allegrini triggered an agronomic revolution and laid the foundations for the success of this wine-growing region, which today stands for convincing, great red wines from north-east Italy.

Cerbaia's Rosso di Montalcino 2022 offers a strong signature of bright cherry and cassis. Straightforward, but with interesting facets of dark flowers, undergrowth, leather and herbs. "Le Difese 2021 is predominantly Sangiovese (55%), departing from the traditional 70/30 split in favour of Cabernet Sauvignon. The third generation of Tenuta San Guido, Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta, explained that this decision was made to enhance the "local Tuscan" character of the wine and improve its drinkability at an early stage as a "first step into the world of Tenuta San Guido". While the Cabernet is grown on the estate, the Sangiovese is, as always, sourced from long-standing partners in Chianti Rufina.
