Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Salcheto's sparkling garnet-red Vino Nobile delights us with its fragrant aroma of dried plum and a hint of cinnamon and clove. Lots of present fruit on the palate, with a fine, sweet melting flavour and a long finish. An authentic and pleasantly elegant organic wine from the heart of the Montepulciano region that is ready to drink when young. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. A nose of juicy cherries and a hint of dried rose petal, with an aftertaste of black bread. Radiant red berry fruit on the palate, creamy, with full-bodied tannins and a clear expression, with a fine juiciness on a sparse finish." Falstaff
"The 2020 Nobile di Montepulciano opens with a classic blend of dusty black cherries, cedar shavings, worn leather and sour citrus notes. It has a soft texture and a cool note, with savoury red fruits and cedar spice accompanied by lively acidity. It finishes long and lightly textured, leaving a bitter aftertaste as the violet florals fade inside." Vinous
"Ripe flavours of preserved cherries, plums, leather, almonds and loam, underpinned by a dense layer of tannins. Stays within the boundaries and lingers nicely." Wine Spectator
"Rich, spicy red fruit with iron, liquorice, dry earth and orange peel. Firm, dusty tannins with dry, spiced berries on a structured, medium to full-bodied palate. Good finish with mineral notes on the final. Sangiovese. From organically grown grapes. Long-lasting." James Suckling
"Finesse instead of power, a finesse that refines the qualities of outstanding fruit. Floral on the nose, with notes of peony, red blackberry and pepper leaf, nutmeg on the finish. The first impression is confirmed on the palate, iodised, crisp, persistent, with a fruity finish." Luca Gardini
"The nose is defined by a delicate sweetness, while undertones of clove and orange peel nuance the leading flavours of vanilla and strawberry, followed by a hint of black pepper. On the palate, the fruit dominates, but a hint of that bitter, spicy element lingers until the warm, acidic finish." Wine Enthusiast

“Belguardo V” Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC 2021
This Vermentino cru is the result of a study project in the vineyard and in the winery and comes from two clones each from Corsica and Sardinia. "Belguardo V" (formerly "Codice V") displays the most distinctive characteristics of Tyrrhenian Vermentino and thus epitomises the typical Vermentino as the Mazzei family understands it.
Fresh and bright citrus flavours with white flowers, honeysuckle and cut grass. Sunny, savoury and very mineral on the palate with the typical Vermentino structure. Taut on the final and with promising ageing potential. 30% of the wine is matured on the fine lees in amphorae. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, sparkling straw yellow colour. On the nose, initially fresh asparagus, then citrus fruit, elderflower, medium-bodied. Fresh on the palate, on stone fruit, salty and racy, slightly phenolic on the final." Falstaff
"Intense straw yellow colour. Restrained but concentrated on the nose, with hints of cedar, salty minerals and a hint of bread crust. Still somewhat restrained on the palate, with notes of lemon, rhubarb and peach and a fine citric nerve running through the fruit." Jancis Robinson
"Notes of peach stones, sliced apples, crushed almonds and acacia blossom. Medium-bodied, somewhat waxy and phenolic, with taut acidity and a long, somewhat tight finish. With a mineral backbone." James Suckling
"The Belguardo V is a white wine that is exemplary for the Maremma. The aromas of lemon, lime and apple mingle with floral and almond nuances, while the powerful, creamy, slightly honeyed palate combines juiciness with a savoury line that runs through the core of juicy green and yellow fruit. Soft and soothing, airy and fresh, this is a fantastic wine for the table that will also cellar well." Decanter
"The Belguardo Mazzei 2021 Maremma Toscana Vermentino Superiore Belguardo V is somewhat closed at first glance, but it slowly reveals fruit, preserved lemon, quince and soft honey that runs through the entire nose. It opens up and is very generous to all the senses after a minute or two in the glass. The wine has undergone a long maceration on the skins and matures on the fine lees in a combination of amphorae and stainless steel." Wine Advocate
"The tart nose is both citrusy and floral, with aromas of lemon, lime, daffodil, jasmine and yellow and green apple. The palate remains simultaneously sour and lush, with melon and grapefruit flavors joining the fun, before a salty, nutty finish and a lightning bolt of acid provide a welcome contrast." “Brolio Bettino” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020
This red in Riserva quality is dedicated to Bettino Ricasoli, who wrote down the grape variety blend of today's Chianti as early as 1872. But he was much more than that: twice prime minister of the united Italy (1861 and 1866), founder of the daily newspaper "La Nazione", agricultural researcher and "father" of the first product specification of Chianti. The creation of this wine interprets his tireless will to create an independent Chianti style that is both traditional and contemporary to this day.
Chianti Classico Brolio Bettino captivates with a hauntingruby red. The intense and inviting aroma of dark fruits is underpinned with noble balsamic notes. Flawless and polished on the refined palate with well-proportioned acidity and perfectly integrated tannin, powerful and long. SUPERIORE.DE

“Eruzione 1614” Nerello Mascalese Sicilia DOC 2019
The eruption of 1614 is legendary in the history of Etna, as it lasted ten years, making it the longest recorded eruption of the active volcano to date. A very impressive and fitting name for Planeta's Etna series of equally impressive wines.
It could hardly be more autochthonous: this excellent wine from the Nerello Mascalese grape comes from the hotspot on the east coast of Sicily, from the slopes of Mount Etna. Bright cherry red in colour, a fine aroma of raspberry and blood orange, gripping, taut acidity, silky tannins and a lively elegance with beautiful minerality. Great, long and unique! SUPERIORE.DE
"This is still very much a wine of Etna, despite being just outside the official boundary of the Etna DOC zone. Airy and textured, light red and black cherries and raspberry mingle with balsam, spice and earth. A poised red which trades complexity for freshness and drinkability." Decanter
"Pure Nerello Mascalese of great finesse, from the Cru Sciaranuova, matured for 12 months in oak barrels, very multi-faceted nose, redcurrant, notes of bay leaf, nutmeg and wild mint. Savoury and spicy on the palate, with a fruity, oily finish." Luca Gardini
"The 2019 Nerello Mascalese Eruzione 1614 is delicate and floral in the glass, with pretty rose tones and spice notes that complement dusty black cherry. It washes over the palate with lightness, soft and juicy in flavour, with tactile mineral tones that linger towards the end. A layer of fine tannins lingers as the 2019 finishes remarkably fresh yet youthfully structured. It will take some time to fully develop." Vinous
"Flavours of sliced strawberries, red cherries and grated nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied with fine, slightly taut tannins. Lively and acidic on the palate, with plenty of white pepper as a stimulus. Accompanied by notes of wet stone and sage. Well-structured and multi-layered. Best after 2024." James Suckling

“Pian delle Vigne” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021
Strong, dark ruby red. In the bouquet black and red small berries, in addition some leather, tobacco and herbal spice. Fine, black-fruity extract sweetness in the drink, rounded off by herbs and spices, the well-built tannin gives certain pressure and power, in the finish its multilayered components marry with fresh acidity to a very drinkyred, which does not deny its origin and grape variety at any time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red. In the nose red cherry, strawberry candy, pepper and a delicate vegetal touch. On the palate of medium weight, shows nice juiciness, in addition still young tannin, in the pithy final." Falstaff
"From the characteristically clay-limestone soils of Pian delle Vigne comes a red that is all juiciness and freshness. A nose of redcurrants, with hints of thyme and juniper. On the palate it is taut-salty, with a fruity return and pleasant persistence." Luca Gardini

“La Grola” Rosso Veronese IGT 2020
La Grola is the eponymous, historic vineyard where Corvina, the indigenous grape of Valpolicella, is believed to have originated. The replanting of the vineyard by Giovanni Allegrini triggered an agronomic revolution and laid the foundations for the success of this wine-growing region, which today stands for convincing, great red wines from north-east Italy.
Dense, dark ruby red in colour, very rich and powerful on the nose with notes of wild and overripe berries. The rich fullness of coffee to black cherries is underlined by present, pleasant tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby colour with a dark core and fine garnet-red rim. Multi-layered bouquet of dark chocolate, cassis, underpinned by fine spice. Velvety texture on the palate, harmonious and round, concentrated fruit and pronounced length." Falstaff
"The 2020 La Grola shows ripe fruit, some herbal notes in the background, liquorice, tar and gentle spices. This simple red wine has a slightly wild side with fresh acidity and a whistling, clean finish. La Grola paints a more concentrated picture of Corvina, a grape usually used in traditional Amarone blends." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 La Grola is dark, brooding and complex, tempting the imagination with notes of spiced blood orange, cloves, dark chocolate and dried black cherries. It’s soft textured and more lifted than expected, with brisk acidity and a wave of tart wild berry fruit that slowly saturates. It tapers off with tension, puckering the cheeks with a primary concentration of fine-grained tannins that lingers on. The 2020 is an intense La Grola that will require patience." Vinous
"An elegant red wine with fine tannins that blend seamlessly with the ripe flavours of black and red cherries. Accents of smoked tobacco, rosehip, cocoa powder and aniseed run through the fruit profile, and a subtle, mineral hint of fresh earth and iron lingers on the finish." Wine Spectator
"La Grola has been an integral part of the Allegrini family since 1989. This blend of 90% Corvina and 10% Oseleta opens with aromas of black plums, preserved black cherries, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and violets. As the wine progresses, notes of cedar, cigar box and tobacco develop. On the palate, rich, black-coloured fruit dances with taut, well-structured tannins, while savoury and earthy notes add to the fascination." Wine Enthusiast
"A single vineyard whose fruit comes from a historically important site that is quite steep and calcareous and slopes down towards the Adige. No dried grapes. The tannins of the Oseleta are hard, firm and powerful on the attack. However, the mid-palate is round and energetic, softening any impression of stiffness as it expands aniseed, mint, leather varnish and dark, saturated berry fruit. This is a very good wine made for the cellar." James Suckling
"Podere La Grola, Sant'Ambrogio in Valpolicella, Corvina with a small proportion of Oseleta, which undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures in barriques. Liquorice, blackberry jam and lime on the nose, salty-sweet on the palate, with a fruity finish and slightly iodised final." Luca Gardini

“Campo della Pieve” Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG 2021 (BIO)
The Campo della Pieve vineyard (approx. 380 metres above sea level) faces south-west and has thicker soils and more tufa. The most recent parcel, which was recently acquired, is the highest to date at 400 metres above sea level. The site is more susceptible to wind and has good water retention thanks to the heavier clay soils.
Bright, light golden yellow colour. Delicate nose of fresh yellow apple, some peach, lemon balm, flint in the background. Round and smooth on the palate with a lovely balance between acidity, freshness, citrus and tropical fruit, plus a subtle minerality. In keeping with the characteristics of the Vernaccia grape, the wine is not overly fruity, but displays an exciting spiciness that lends it personality and an additional arc of tension. SUPERIORE.DE
"Superb fruit flavours; pleasing with its polish, elegance and finesse, which it also gets from the longer maceration." Vinum
"Pale straw yellow with a golden centre. Fragrant and elegant bouquet of yellow apple and lemon balm, with a flinty aftertaste. Fresh and almost sparkling on the palate, with a direct attack, very fresh and taut, with a long finish." Falstaff
"Aromas of sliced apples, spicy herbs, citrus peel and beeswax. Medium-bodied, creamy and sleek but fresh with crisp acidity. Clean and textured." James Suckling
"The Il Colombaio di Santa Chiara 2021 Vernaccia di San Gimignano Campo della Pieve has a fresh and bright bouquet. There are aromas of orchard fruit, golden apples and a hint of spicy saffron, which I always find in my favourite Vernaccia wines. This cement-aged wine is young and pristine, but it also has the depth and savoury mineral notes that give this bottle a special appeal." Wine Advocate
"A Vernaccia of crystalline elegance. Fermented in steel, matured on the lees. Citrusy on the nose, especially Sorrento lemon and apricot, a beautiful floral profile with hawthorn that enhances the sense of smell. Spicy on the palate, with good freshness and crispness until the end of the sip." Luca Gardini

Fiano Campania IGT 2021
This Pietracupa wine perfectly combines the aromatic grace of Fiano di Avellino with the mineral strength of the Montefredane soil. Citrus notes on the nose, a variety of fruit flavours on the palate, rocky minerality, complexity and an excellent structure beguile the senses. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Pietracupa 2021 Fiano is a linear and crisp white wine that opens to a flinty mineral tone that dovetails into unripe peach, white flower and pulpy grapefruit. The whole presentation is smooth and very true to this fantastic white grape from southern Italy. The wine ends with notes of freshness and saltiness, and it's all beautifully balanced." Wine Advocate
"Colline di Montefredano, province of Avellino, a commendable project of denial of the territory from which this Fiano comes, produced exclusively in steel. On the nose, marjoram and white peach, then wisteria and lime, salty, crisp, slightly almondy on the palate." Luca Gardini

“Ferentano” Bianco Lazio IGP 2020
Ferentano is a pure white made from the rare indigenous vine Roscetto, which has a very thick skin. Therefore, the grapes are frozen after harvesting to then better break the skins during pressing and to ensure that only the fruit passes through during pressing.
Bright yellow colour, the aroma is slightly sweet of citrus fruits, melon and Golden Delicious. Rich and fruity in the mouth, with a strong structure and hints of grapefruit, honeydew melon and apricot jam. An exceptional and very harmonious white wine in which all components are finely tuned to each other - and an equal alternative to high-quality Chardonnay aged in wood. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Bianco Ferentano is delicately floral in the glass, with a savory bouquet that blends peach skins with raw almonds and dusty dried flowers. This is soft textured yet racy in style, blending rich hints of spice with crunchy yellow apple. A brioche touch adds depth toward the close. It finishes clean and youthfully tense as a nuanced blend of lemon oil and nectarine fades slowly. It's a lovely Lazio white produced from the indigenous Rossetto variety (Trebbiano Giallo)." Vinous
"Tangible evidence of impeccable varietal work, a pure Roscetto of temperament and crispness, which benefits from ageing in barriques. Tropical fruit on the nose, notes of lychee, pineapple and touches of cinnamon, with hints of orange blossom. Salty-orangey on the palate, with a fruity return." Luca Gardini

“Selezione Sergio Zenato” Lugana Riserva DOC 2020
Brilliant golden yellow. On the nose, complex notes of light peach, fresh pineapple and poached apricot. On the palate, rich, creamy with accents of smoke and toasted almonds. The finish is long, mineral and herbal. This very focused and complex white paints a pretty portrait of the refined side of the Trebbiano di Lugana grape, which is growing in popularity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich straw yellow with a golden yellow core. Very filigree on the nose, candied oranges, ripe honeydew melon and camomile, flint and light spice. Creamy texture on the palate, mineral stretches across the palate, ripe fruit core, some vanilla, distinct use of wood on the final." Falstaff
"A subtle burst of vanilla bean and almond paste gives way to a refined and pretty blend of crushed apples, lemon oil and spices as the 2020 Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato comes to life in the glass. The Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato is silky and smooth, with a textural wave of ultra-ripe fruit perfectly balanced by salty minerals and tongue-twisting acidity. The 2020 lasts incredibly long while remaining wonderfully fresh, with hints of citrus custard and sweet spice still lingering. The Riserva Sergio Zenato strikes a beautiful balance between the influence of oak and the zesty character of Trebbiano di Lugana." Vinous
"It has been aged on its lees, which adds a mealy almond and sharp mineral undercurrent to the stone fruit notes. While the hint of cedar is quite obvious, there is depth and impressive savouriness, not to mention good length. It should age well over the medium term." James Suckling
"A toasty white wine with a rich array of flavours of pear tart, quince paste, toasted almonds and lemon meringue, well defined and enlivened by supple acidity and salty minerality. Medium to full-bodied, with a long, delicious finish." Wine Spectator

Everything is just right here: Brolio Riserva is classic in its composition, in its ageing, in its overall impression from the label to the last sip. Velvety, dense ruby colour, dense nose with rich fruit, especially blackberry, some elderberry and a beautiful herbal spice. Juicy and supple on the palate, the finish is polished with fine-grained tannins and a long-lasting final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Dark berries on the nose, fine, spicy notes with a blood orange aftertaste. Medium structure on the palate, polished, present tannins, fresh acidity, lingering finish." Falstaff
"This Chianti Classico is a savoury version with aromas of green olive, tomato leaf, iron and tobacco clustered around a core of macerated cherry fruit. Although lean and sinewy, it is also intense and focused, with a lingering aftertaste that feels the pull of both the savoury and fruity sides." Wine Spectator
"A firm and fresh Chianti Classico with a light to medium body, sour cherries, orange peel and hints of sandalwood. Crunchy finish." James Suckling
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Brolio is a dark, brooding wine. Black cherry, licorice, sage, tobacco, incense and leather fill out the layers as this strapping Riserva shows off its imposing personality. This is nicely done." Vinous
"In the bottle with the black label, this is a very pretty, relatable and well-priced wine from Tuscany. Made with 100% Sangiovese, the 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Brolio offers blueberry, plum and sweet spice thanks to 18 months of tonneaux aging. I especially appreciate the wine's pronounced mineral signature that gives the wine a salty or savory side, which is perfect for food pairing." Wine Advocate

Bright ruby red. Warm, balsamic bouquet of black cherry, some plum and redcurrant syrup, then firm, complex and spicy on the palate, the fruit nicely present and with a beautifully long finish with notes of leather and sweet tobacco. The well-structured tannins perfectly round off the overall picture of a serious red with personality and character. Ageing for 20/24 months in French oak barrels (25-35 hl), followed by another year in bottle, enriches the aromatic complexity of the wine with a clear focus on balance and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red. In the nose of plums and Amarena cherries, in addition elderberries, mint, remotely reminiscent of red-baked apple. On the palate juicy, radiant, spreads over the tongue with great play and lots of tension, slightly salty, finesse-rich and long finish." Falstaff
"Sergioveto is a reinvention of sorts. While it used to be an IGT blend of international grapes with Sangiovese, as of 2015 it is a single-vineyard Chianti Classico Riserva crafted exclusively from Sangiovese and aged in large French oak barrels. I applaud the new direction here: assertive and characterful, the 2018 exhibits pepper and rosemary with compelling notes of lavender and iris poking though. It is unpretentious, balanced and speaks of the vintage. Dusty, clayey tannins frame the palate and inner-mouth perfume of fennel, anise and orange give lovely lift." Decanter
"A really bright, fruity red with blackberry and cherry aromas and hints of orange peel. It’s medium-bodied with a very tight palate and an intense finish. Very tight and firm. Needs a year or two to open." James Suckling
"Single vineyard situated in Pian della Casina, the traditional finesse and balanced manufacture. On the nose, dark notes from wild plum and cassis, hints of eucalyptus and beautiful balsamic closing. Taut mouth with a nice taste thickness. Velvety and elegant tannins. Ending on a beautiful balsamic note in the aftertaste." Luca Gardini

“Varvàra” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2021
Here comes Varvàra, the convincing "second wine" from the Bolgheri shooting star, named in honour of BaroneVarvàra Wrangel. A wine in the style of the house: a rich, bright ruby colour with a garnet rim, a sophisticated bouquet with a finely pronounced ripe berry nose and beautiful herbal aromas. Warm on the palate, polished, tightly woven and of great elegance and refinement. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, almost impenetrable ruby red colour. Multi-layered bouquet with notes of dark chocolate, black pepper, juniper berries, opulent. Also powerful on the palate, with firm tannins, lots of dark fruit, juicy and persistent on the finish." Falstaff
"It shows notes of spiced cherries, blackcurrant leaf, dark chocolate and bark. Medium to full-bodied. It has a weighty core of dark berries with compact and fine tannins that melt into the wine. Focussed and long lasting." James Suckling
"This red wine is all about balance and texture, bringing out the aromas and flavours of blackcurrants, black cherries, liquorice, rosemary and iron. Refined tannins give the wine grip on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot." Wine Spectator
"The 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Varvàra shows inky black fruit and rich concentration with a hint of black olive or caper flower. This is another of the historic value wines of Bolgheri that is generous, thickly layered but also accessible. There is a hint of spice on the close that recalls black pepper and chili flake." Wine Advocate
"Pleasant variation on the theme, another wine of great sophistication. Redcurrant on the nose, with a hint of liquorice powder, peony and a touch of orange peel, crisp, salty on the palate, with a fruity and floral return, citrusy finish and beautiful persistence." Luca Gardini

“Serpara” Aglianico del Vulture Superiore DOCG 2016
The Serpara is elegant, intense and long-lasting every year. Its grapes come from a single vineyard and the wine matures in a combination of new and used French Allier oak barrels. In the glass, it exudes aromas of blackberries, tobacco, sage, thyme and a hint of smoked meat. It has a soft, almost creamy texture and juicy acids that keep the balance, while ripe black fruits and minerals move effortlessly across the palate. The bold tannins make their presence felt on the final, but are more of an accent that frames the experience well, while hints of dark chocolate and balsamic spices slowly fade away. SUPERIORE.DE
"This wine from the cru of the same name is the interpretation of the tension and juiciness of Aglianico. The mouthfeel shows notes of alcoholic cherries, laurel and white pepper. Dense and exciting on the palate, with iodised, chalky tannins and a fruity finish." Luca Gardini
"This wine has aromas of rosemary, dried strawberries, grilled plums, smoked paprika and mocha. It is spicy and flavourful, with a full body and firm, chewy tannins. Long, spicy and smoky finish." James Suckling

“Ognisanti di Novare” Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2020
The grapes for this high-calibre Valpolicella Classico Superiore come from the rather barren, calcareous and terraced vineyards of Tenuta Novare above the Ognisanti church. Wines of greater complexity, perfect structure and higher concentration are produced here than in most other vineyards in Valpolicella. Sparkling ruby-garnet colour. Fragrant nose with wonderful overtones of sour cherry, dried flowers and white pepper. Perfectly balanced on the palate with firm tannins and wonderful spice and depth of fruit thanks to the ageing in wood. A superior, winning wine from the heart of the Valpolicella region. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep ruby red colour. Initially notes of white pepper and tobacco on the nose, followed by delicate hints of small red fruits. Full and intense flavour, fruity sweetness and smoothness, juicy and slightly spicy finish." Falstaff
"The 2020 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ognisanti di Novare is quite pretty, with nuances of rose petals and dried strawberries. It has a soft texture, and a salty core of minerality adds a savoury flair, while the tart cherry fruit cascades across the palate." Vinous
"Offering an aromatic array of warmed cherries, plums, sun-dried tomatoes and underbrush showing a lift with hints of violets as the wine opens. A sip reveals a structure of refined tannins and a harmonious balance of tart cherry and a touch of leather with notes of black tea and roast coffee on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"A medium-bodied red wine with fresh red berry aromas and flavours, showing floral, citrus and mineral nuances as it progresses. The tannins are very fine and almost chalky, soaking up more and more fruit on the ever-expanding palate. Long finish. This is a very graceful and well-made Valpo that reminds me a little of Pinot Noir. Very expressive without being loud in any way." James Suckling
"Vineyard of the same name in Arbizzano di Negrar, Corvina Veronese with a small amount of Rondinella, 12 months in French oak, a wine of juiciness and tension, notes of cranberries on the nose, with hints of marjoram, white pepper and wild mint. Firm and juicy on the palate, spicy finish." Luca Gardini

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
Castello di Monsanto's Chianti Classico Riserva is a fabulous wine that punches well above its weight. Dark cherry, plum, liquorice, spice, leather, lavender and tobacco run through this wonderfully nuanced and vibrant Riserva. It is surprisingly expressive and open even at a young age and will continue to drink well for over 15 years. Sweet floral notes extend the finish of this medium-bodied, graceful and well-structured wine. Interesting Storage potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Opens with inviting, dense cherry fruit, underpinned by juniper, clove and a subtle medicinal note. Concentrated and precise fruit core on the palate, elegant tannin and supporting acidity, juicy and persistent." Falstaff
"Concentrated mid ruby. Balsamic, cherry and crushed-raspberry nose with a hint of eucalyptus. Succulent fruit palate with sandpapery tannins. Fresh, elegant and long. Great balance and style in this not easy-to-handle vintage." Jancis Robinson
"A dense red wine with well-defined aromas and flavours of black cherries and blackberries, underpinned by graphite, eucalyptus and cumin. Balanced, though still tightly wound, with a lingering fruity, spicy and mineral finish." Wine Spectator
"It shows a medium-dark concentration with typical flavours of wild cherry, peat moss, blue flower and light spice. This winery offers consistently well-made and convincing wines at a favourable price." Wine Advocate
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 that has just been bottled is magnificent. It offers a beguiling blend of dense fruit supported by a core of vibrant acidity. Striking aromatics, remarkable depth and exceptional balance make the Riserva a winner. This is such a great and compelling wine." Vinous
"This wine is complex and flavoursome with red and dark berries, dried orange peel, nutshells and roasted spices. Also a hint of walnut and crushed stones. Medium to full-bodied with super-polished tannins and juicy acidity. Delicious fruit character with a firm mineral backbone. Complete and concentrated." James Suckling
"Bing cherry and blood orange, floral earth, graphite and then wild herbs - especially sage - appear on the nose, before a hint of vanilla and cedar. The palate is juicy and fresh, with vanilla, chocolate and cherry, while herbs reappear on the back palate. A rare example of a wine with great refinement that is also an undeniable crowd favourite." Wine Enthusiast
"Wild strawberries, then nuances of white pepper and eucalyptus. It is powerful on the palate, ending with a fruity-balsamic return, long flavour." Luca Gardini

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
The grapes for Gaglioles Riserva come from vineyards in Panzano that used to belong to Le Cinciole and neighbouring Gagliole. Dark and full-bodied in the glass, it shows the full range of the Conca d'Oro area of Panzano, but does so in a pleasantly restrained style that is typical of the elegant 2019. Currently still very young, in a few years it will be much more enjoyable. SUPERIORE.DE
"Harmony and depth in this version that bears the ancient name of this beautiful farm. Complex nose, blackberries and blueberries together with mentholated touches and floral nuances, of carnation, dense and taut mouth, savory tannins, juicy finish, with mentholated-floral return." Luca Gardini
"Beautiful aromas of roses and other flowers, together with fresh cherries and lemon rind, following through to a medium body with freshness and vivid intensity to the finish. Spicy at the end." James Suckling
"Only in its second vintage, the certified organic Gagliole 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva addresses the need for a category that sits between the entry-level reds and the high-end Gran Selezione wines. Fruit is sourced exclusively from Panzano for an intense ruby color shaded by elegant darkness. Aromas recall blackberry, graphite, flint and white pepper. This wine prizes freshness, a streamlined mouthfeel and those pretty mineral notes that drive a very long and polished finish." Wine Advocate

Complex, full-bodied and with fine-grained tannin on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"Castello di Ama's bottled Annata is characterised by aromas of violet, lilac and blood orange. It is made from 10- to 12-year-old Sangiovese young vines and infused with a dash of Merlot, which adds a touch of richness to the lean, supple red cherry fruit. The graceful palate is softly textured, with an appealing chalkiness on the finish." Decanter

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
Castellares Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 opens with a bouquet of black cherry, plum, mocha, game, spices, leather and tobacco. A dark, mysterious wine that has enormous depth and has what it takes to develop well for many years to come. This medium-bodied, super-classic Riserva captures the Castellare style beautifully, with plenty of character and a strong personality. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark and brooding, with aromas of eucalyptus, tar, resin and blackberry giving way to flavours of black cherry, blackberry, plum, tobacco and sandalwood. Shows fine balance and length." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 is rich in dark fruits, leather and sweet spices. It has a lot of depth and appeal, but the oak impression is also quite strong. With a little less oak, this could be a much more transparent expression of Sangiovese, but it is undoubtedly very well made." Vinous
"Red plums and berries vie with a fair dose of oak on the nose and palate, where the fresh fruit is riding the firm fruit and oak tannins well. Medium-bodied with good balance for aging, though for riserva lovers it’s approachable even now." James Suckling
"An impeccable proof in the field of Chianti Classico da Castellare, Riserva type. Red cherry and iris, a hint of thyme, a touch of iodine in the final aroma. On the palate it is spicy, dense and excellently crisp, the tannins are savoury, the finish is persistent and fruity." Luca Gardini

“Piere” Sauvignon Bianco Friuli Isonzo DOC 2021
Rive Alte Sauvignon Blanc Piere is the lighter of the winery's two Sauvignons, but both wines are beautiful in their own way. Piere shows earthy notes of green olive, garden tomato leaves and sage on the palate, rounded off by upbeat and tangy flavours of citrus orange peel and some crushed mineral and white pepper. All the elements are in place and like all Vie di Romans whites, Piere needs time in the glass to find its centre and minerality. And if you have the patience to give it to him, he is great. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Sauvignon Blanc Piere 2021 is a spice bomb that captures my attention with hints of ground ginger, cardamom, flint and curry before flowing into dried nectarines. It is luxurious and silky, yet with a cooling minerality and acidity that underlines its floral notes of green citrus and melon. For all its intensity, the 2021 finishes crisp and classically dry, while spicy herbal notes linger. This forward, fruit-driven yet seductive Sauvignon is a true delight." Vinous
"Light straw yellow with greenish reflections. Intense, cool scents of gooseberry, pineapple, basil and flint. On the palate medium structure, soft with present fruit, persistent, juicy final." Falstaff
"Spicy and citrusy with pear slices, lime peel, spicy herbs and raw almonds. Medium to full-bodied, juicy and crisp with exciting phenolic character. Steady and lively acidity. Long and mineral with a creamy finish." James Suckling
"From the vineyard of the same name, a pure Sauvignon Blanc of complexity and finesse, aged on the lees in steel, notes of pineapple on the nose, nuances of lemongrass, hints of white pepper and cedar peel. Spicy-iodic on the palate, with a fruity-citrus finish." Luca Gardini

“Oudeis” Metodo Classico Alta Langa DOCG 2019 brut
"Oudeis" has its origins in the Greek name "Odysseus" and means "nobody". And indeed, no one but the outstanding terroir of the Alta Langa is responsible for the complexity of Enrico Serafino's sparkling wines.
Bright, rich straw yellow colour. The fragrant nose seduces with a salty minerality, a potpourri of country flowers, lime, blood orange and ripe peach. The palate is exciting, fresh and extremely flavoursome, with well-integrated perlage and precisely measured intensity and a texture that is never too heavy or too flat. Oudeis Brut has a very energetic arc of tension and convinces in the remarkable final with a refined interplay of fruit and acidity. SUPERIORE.DE
"This Alta Langa opens with a mix of lemon and orange peel, baked apples, yellow flowers and cake batter. On the palate, it is round with a vinous note that emphasises the character of the Pinot Noir, with cherry and flowers and a mineral finish." Wine Enthusiast
"Alta Langa's Brut Oudeis 2019 is remarkably pretty, with a delicate blend of peaches and young mango accompanied by hints of incense and spice. It shows a round, smooth texture and juicy acidity with a core of tart fruit that creates a nice tension towards the end. The finish is of medium length, leaving a hint of sour citrus and a steely minerality that gives it a tactile edge. The 2019 is beautifully made and shows incredible balance. Well done." Vinous
"An elegant sparkler, with a refined mousse. Offers well-honed acidity and a salty underpinning enmeshed with a lovely range of yellow peach, grapefruit granita, crushed lemon thyme and white blossom notes." Wine Spectator
"Enrico's vision in this revealing Pinot Noir/Chardonnay blend from 36 months on the fine lees, giving a clear idea of the terroir, nose with notes of white peach, broom and cedar thyme, taut mouthfeel of beautiful complexity and density, finish with a fruity orchestral return." Luca Gardini
