!["Terre Cerase" Rosato Campania IGT 2024]()
“Terre Cerase” Rosato Campania IGT 2024
A rosé that draws its strength from Aglianico – elegant, juicy and resolute in style. Terre Cerase shows its freshness in a bright salmon pink colour with a silky sheen. The bouquet already reveals aromas of ripe wild berries, sour cherry and floral nuances, underpinned by a subtle peppery spiciness. On the palate, the wine impresses with its round structure, pleasant volume and precise acidity. The fruit remains persistently present, while the dry finish leads into a delicate minerality. Despite its substantial texture, the Rosato is surprisingly light-footed and easy to drink. Ideal as an aperitif, with seafood, buffalo mozzarella or pizza – a rosato with its own personality, which is the result of uncompromising loyalty to the grape variety: an intense Aglianico in a charming guise. ![Falanghina del Sannio DOC 2025]()
Falanghina del Sannio DOC 2025
The name is steeped in history: Falanghina, derived from the wooden phalanges – the stakes that have supported the vines since ancient times. A grape variety that has been cultivated in Campania since Roman times and which Mastroberardino, a ten-generation-old traditional house from Atripalda, has saved from oblivion through consistency and conviction. The grapes grow on the Apice estate in Sannio, 350 metres above sea level, exposed to the south-east, in volcanic clay soils with a mineral-rich skeleton. Hand-picked at the end of September, vinification in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature – cool, clean, designed for freshness and flavour.

Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco DOC 2025
A wine with a legendary name and volcanic character: according to legend, God wept when he saw Lucifer steal a corner of the sky. And where his tears touched the earth, the vine Lacryma Christi grew. Mastroberardino vinifies this historical origin as a single-varietal Coda di Volpe from the mineral-rich slopes of Mount Vesuvius. Clear, bright straw yellow in colour. Ripe pear, honeydew melon and candied citrus fruit on the nose, complemented by fine notes of incense, herbs and exotic spices. Harmonious on the palate, juicy and carried by salty minerality, with a fine mellowness and floral freshness on the finish. !["Collecastrese" Bianco Falerno del Massico DOC 2024]()
“Collecastrese” Bianco Falerno del Massico DOC 2024
A youthful classic with history: Collecastrese is a single-varietal Falanghina from the wine-growing region around Monte Massico – an old growing centre of the legendary Falerno wines. The limestone and tufa soils lend the wine a mineral freshness, while the proximity to the coast promotes mild ripeness and aromatic clarity. Brilliant straw yellow in the glass with a greenish-yellow hue. Ripe peach, green pear, tropical fruit notes such as pineapple and mango, accompanied by floral nuances. On the palate, it has a charming smoothness, clean fruit and fine acidity; the salty minerality characterises the long, fresh finish. ![Greco di Tufo DOCG 2025]()
Greco di Tufo DOCG 2025
In the first century BC, the Pelasgians brought – immigrants from Thessaly – brought a grape variety to the hills of Irpinia that the Romans later called "Aminea Gemina" because of its characteristic two-part grape. Two millennia later, this vine still has the same character: unconventional, mineral, with a longevity that is unrivalled among white varieties. Mastroberardino has not only cultivated the Greco – the family rescued it when it had almost disappeared after the Second World War and made it the flagship of Campania for decades. The vineyards of Tufo and Petruro Irpino are situated at 450 metres above sea level, exposed to the south-east, in clayey and calcareous soils – and in Tufo the soil is literally named after the rock that was once important as a sulphur mine. This sulphur tone in the terroir is no coincidence: it is a signature. Hand-picked in the second decade of October, classic vinification in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by several months of bottle ageing – precise, without distraction.

!["Montelapio" Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2024]()
“Montelapio” Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2024
A Fiano with inner calm and clear origins: Montelapio comes from high-altitude vineyards around Lapio and benefited from a cool late summer in the 2024 vintage, which produced a lively freshness and aromatic fine-grained flavour. The volcanic, mineral-rich soils give the wine elegant grip and balance. Delicate golden yellow colour. A harmoniously balanced interplay of aromas on the nose: yellow apple, white flowers, a hint of rock sugar, salty herbal notes and delicate hazelnut. On the palate, it is fruity with a clear structure and lively acidity that creates a youthful tension. The mineral finish is gently lingering and ends with a feeling of persistence that lingers for a long time. Montelapio is characterised by clarity, depth and a subtle style that shows how multi-faceted Fiano di Avellino can be today. A charming companion for fine dining or relaxed moments of pleasure. ![Piedirosso Campania IGT 2021]()
Piedirosso Campania IGT 2021
A rare representative of an almost forgotten grape variety that is attracting attention again today: Piedirosso – the "red foot" – is an ancient clone from Campania that is experiencing a renaissance thanks to its finesse and flavour. Feudi di San Gregorio interprets it with precision and respect for tradition. A bright ruby red colour with a violet hue in the glass. The bouquet combines dark cherry, blackberry and dried herbs with fine smoke and a hint of leather. Soft and supple on the palate, with ripe fruit, subtle tannins and an animating, almost salty freshness. The ageing in stainless steel preserves the typicality and elegance of the grape variety. A characterful, yet pleasantly accessible red wine with a regional profile – and a successful plea for the authentic south of Italy. SUPERIORE.DE

In the area of "Tear of Christ".
Wine from Campania is hardly known here. Campania is associated with Naples, Vesuvius, Salerno, Ischia, the Capri fishermen, the Amalfi coast and of course pizza. But wine? You have to help wine lovers on their way. Taurasi, Falanghina, Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Lacryma Christi. Ring a bell?
The fine wines were already highly appreciated in antiquity. Names such as Falerner, Massiker and Surrentiner were often mentioned in ancient literature and received much praise. Before its destruction by the Vesuvius eruption in 79, the ancient city of Pompeii was an important Roman wine-growing town. The most famous wine of the "Campania felix" (Happy Land) - as the Romans called the region previously inhabited by Greek settlers - bears the name Lacryma Christi (Tear of Christ).
In the region on the Tyrrhenian Sea around the port of Naples, almost 25,000 hectares are planted with vines that produce around 130 million litres of wine per year. The four DOCG and 15 DOC zones, however, account for only 19 percent of total production.
The wines produced in the Mediterranean climate of Campania can thrive on the volcanic and alluvial soils. For some time the economic crisis and the flight of the rural population to the cities slowed down the vigour of the winegrowers. In the meantime, however, a lot is happening again, especially in the area of quality. Pioneers such as Mastroberardino and Feudi di Gregorio contribute significantly to this.
Aglianico, Falerner and again and again Vesuvius.
Lacryma Christi, produced south of Naples, is labelled Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio DOC. Further to the northeast, the best white wine of Campania is pressed around Avellino from the Fiano grape - the Fiano di Avellino DOCG, which also tolerates several years of bottle ageing and then convinces with a multi-layered bouquet as well as with structure and complexity. A little further north, the great rival Greco di Tufo DOCG thrives on volcanic ground. It is often perceived as fresher and more fruity and is a wonderful accompaniment to food. Particularly fine, often fragrant and elegant white wines are pressed from the grape variety Falanghina.
The outstanding red wine of Campania grows a little further east and is called Taurasi DOCG, which is pressed from the Aglianico grape, which was often underestimated in the past. Due to its high tannin content, this plant can mature for a long time in the bottle. When it has developed into a deep, concentrated and very distinguished wine, it is usually praised in the highest tones. And north of Naples, the legendary Falerner was revived as a DOC wine in its ancient region of origin.
In Campania, especially in the region of Avellino and in the DOCG Taburno a little further north, the red variety Aglianico in particular produces full-bodied, colourful and aromatic red wines. Here, too, the autochthonous, partly very old grape varieties are remembered and Asprinio, Biancolella, Coda di Volpe and Piedirosso are planted again. Exciting wines come naturally from the volcanic sites near Vesuvius, from the steep terraces of the Amalfi coast and from the offshore islands. The Sorrento peninsula and the picturesque islands of Capri and Ischia also produce some remarkable wines. Even further south on the coast is the large and still young DOC area Cilento, which has remained rather undiscovered but of which some elegant wines have already attracted attention. Future area.
