“Spezieri” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
Ruby red colour, fresh nose of red fruits and spices. Pleasant flavour: fruity, balanced in tannin and acidity, very lively and crisp. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Still somewhat restrained on the nose, of ripe cherry, rosehip and cloves. Opens on the palate with clear fruit and animating acidity, fine, young tannins." Falstaff
"This tightly wound red's chewy tannins maintain a stranglehold on the wild strawberry and cherry fruit. Accents of earth and tobacco add detail, yet the finish feels pinched for now." Wine Spectator
"The nose balances savory, slightly astringent aromas of coffee, soil, pepper and balsamic with sweeter notes of cherries and blackberries. That berry element glows on the palate, but an enduring peppery earthiness preserves the balance. Firm tannins usher the acid into a sophisticated, salty finish." Wine Enthusiast

“Controdanza” Rosso Sicilia Noto DOC 2020
The country dance (controdanza) is a typical dance in which man and woman face each other and unite in graceful movements - depending on their gender, the dancers interpret the music in their own way. This wine is exactly the same: Nero d'Aola and Merlot - opposites attract and, with the right sensitivity, can harmonise and contrast wonderfully.
Strong purple colour. Mulberry and plum contrast with incense and balsamic notes. The grapes all come from chalky soils, which in turn creates a bridge and makes this young wine balanced and harmonious. Soft tannins and a beautifully integrated, delicate acidity carry Controdanza into a supple, medium-length finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium ruby colour with garnet-red reflections. Inviting on the nose, fruity flavours of cherry and wild berries, underpinned by spicy notes. Full fruit on the palate, dense tannins, mouth-filling, juicy with a lingering final." Falstaff

“Otto” Soave DOC 2022 (BIO)
"I am particularly attached to this wine, which is named after the border collie that lived with us for fifteen years. Otto is the youngest wine we have, fresh and ready to drink. A wine you should always have in your cellar." Graziano Prà
Pale straw yellow in colour. Delicate bouquet of white flowers, spices, lime and green apple. On the palate, the intensity of the green citrus fruits unfolds together with a deep, salty minerality. A balanced inner sweetness lends the whole a fantastic harmony. Otto finishes long with traces of candied lime, and its fresh tension offers plenty of drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"A supple, delicious white with tangy acidity driving the ripe yellow plum, pink grapefruit granita and peach skin flavours, revealing mineral smoke and stone accents. Floral finish." Wine Spectator
"This Soave opens with gentle aromas of fresh fruit trees and stone fruit, white flowers and a hint of honey. The bright palate presents fresh McIntosh apples and Comice pears with a minerality of crushed stone and delicious acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2022 Soave Classico Otto is gorgeous, with a vividly fresh blend of muddled green apples, lime zest and crushed stone. This soothes with its round textures as a salty mineral tension reverberates and perfumed inner florals arch across the palate. The Otto finishes sapid and long, with cheek-puckering salinity and citrus tones that calls the taster back to the glass—beautifully done. I could drink this sultry Soave all day long." Vinous
"A fragrant, peachy bouquet with hints of white flowers and almonds. Medium-bodied with a relaxed, fruity palate and a certain mineral structure." James Suckling
"The mineral vigour of the Monteforte d'Alpone region in a pure Garganega (also) from old vines that reconciles the brilliance of the variety. Chardonnay Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
Fine Chardonnay with a straw-yellow colour; pleasantly fruity bouquet of pineapple and white flowers. The flavour is refined and elegant, with a slender body and convincing liveliness thanks to its freshness. For us, the perfect substitute for the white wine from Burgundy. SUPERIORE.DE
"A full-bodied white with notes of smoked almonds, dried mango and papaya. Also some dill. It's weighty, with an interesting combination of herbs and smoke coming through." James Suckling
"Sleek and minerally, this juicy white offers generous ripe green apple and pear fruit, tangerine and white blossom notes. Reveals zesty hints of milled pepper and pink grapefruit peel, which linger on the lively finish." Wine Spectator

“Non Confunditur” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
Rosso Non Confunditur from Argiano is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. The wine opens with a dark ruby red colour and aromas of wild berries, flowers and red berries. On the palate, it fortunately does not show the cloying heaviness or dense extraction found in many other protagonists of the Super Tuscan category. In fact, NC is accessible and fresh, rounded off with a good level of crisp acidity and a well-proportioned body. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby red with violet shimmer. Compact nose, ripe plum, coffee and dark chocolate. Powerful and juicy on the palate, builds up a lot of pressure, refreshing acidity and ripe tannins, medium-long final, slightly brittle at the end." Falstaff
"Taut and straightforward in profile, this red offers blackcurrants, black cherries, vanilla and peppery spices. It tightens up on the finish, where the chalky tannins linger." Wine Spectator
"The nose is simultaneously earthy and sweet, with notes of cherries, chocolate, tree bark and underbrush. That cherry-chocolate sweetness takes center stage on the palate, before tannins clear through them to resuscitate the earth tones." Wine Enthusiast

“Palai” Müller-Thurgau Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022
The Palai area is one of the most representative areas for the production of Müller Thurgau in Italy due to its microclimatic characteristics and the influence of the Cembra and Isarco valleys. In order to preserve its varietal characteristics (aromas and natural antioxidants), the grapes are processed using the hyper-reduction technique (in the absence of oxygen) developed and patented by the company.
Brilliant straw yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet is intense, aromatic and rich with notes of baked apples and crushed raw almonds, accompanied by citrus peel and a hint of smoke. Its fine acidity and aromatic vein make it a convincing accompaniment to both great fish dishes and simple braised dishes with freshwater fish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Light yellow; fresh fruit, grapefruit, inviting; juicy acidity, nettle, crisp, fruity, drinky, length, pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"This bone-dry white wine is lean and seductive. It offers notes of petrol and stones overlaid with flavours of poached quince, nectarine, verbena and grapefruit flesh, and crackles with lively acidity on the crisp finish." Wine Spectator

“Vigna del Mandorlo” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2022
Cogno's classic Dolcetto Vigna del Mandorlo is a very typical interpretation of the grape variety and fascinates with a complex bouquet. The juicy and lively flavour is carried by fine tannins and shows a wonderful bitter almond note in the precise finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Impenetrable violet purple colour. Full, fleshy, rich blackberry nose with a layer of savoury spice. Full blackberry palate, juicy acidity and fantastic, fine tannin structure." Jancis Robinson
"Aromas of roasted plum dusted with clove, dried herbs and dried violets waft from the glass of the Dolcetto. Radiant and pure blackberry flavors both fresh and preserved define the core of the wine with savory spice, dried leaf and fine tannins all in support." Wine Enthusiast
"This racy red wine combines the fruit of black cherries and blackberries with flavours of earth, iron and spices. Rich, even creamy, but with a firm grip on the finish. Shows fine balance and length." Wine Spectator
"Notes of ripe violet fruit with blood orange and sweet spices. Pure and juicy fruit character on the palate with a medium body and firm, chalky texture on the finish." James Suckling

Harmonious, velvety Pinot Noir from vineyards at an altitude of around 450 metres. These hills with special conglomerate soils of clay and limestone and the very suitable microclimate form the ideal conditions for a clear Pinot Nero full of character. Bright ruby to garnet red in colour. Fine, ripe aroma of dark berries and sour cherry. Harmonious and soft on the palate with a good balance of fruit and body. SUPERIORE.DE

“Schulthaus 40 anni” Pinot Bianco Alto Adige DOC 2022
Schulthaus(er) Pinot Bianco is the classic among South Tyrolean Pinot Blancs and is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the 2022 vintage. Its success began in 1982, when it was first vinified and bottled. A perfect, delicately fruity and fresh wine with a creamy softness and racy acidity that is a pleasure to savour. SUPERIORE.DE
"A pretty flavorful pinot bianco here that shows a mineral twist to the dried herbs and white fruit. A tad phenolic on the palate with good intensity and fresh acidity." James Suckling
"This bright and minerally white is light on its feet, showing a focused range of white peach and white cherry fruit backed by racy acidity, with notes of pickled ginger, honeysuckle and pink grapefruit zest." Wine Spectator

With an incredible readership of three million wine lovers, Wine Spectator is one of the oldest and world's leading wine magazines in the USA. Founded in 1976 by Bob Morrisey, this English-language trade magazine has been under the wing of American publisher and editor Marvin R. Shanken for over forty years.
The trade journal publishes fifteen issues a year and is dedicated to detailed comparisons of current vintages as well as price-determining wine evaluations according to the recognised 100-point system. All Italian wines were awarded for twenty-nine years by the famous wine critic and then editor-in-chief James Suckling, although since 2010, after his retirement into independence, the Italy-savvy wine expert Bruce Sanderson has taken over the exciting role.
The Wine Spectator publishes an annual Top 100 ranking in which the countless wineries, from the big names to the smaller, lesser-known vintners, compete together for the title of the best wines in the world. Among international trade magazines, the English-language Wine Spectator with its rigorous team of critics is one of the most important players in the field of wine evaluation and offers insights worth knowing about the wine industry.
