It has good acid structure, around which wrap sweet and ripe red fruits, with a long and fresh finish showcasing some raspberry coulis." Decanter
"A dense and balanced red with sour-cherry, berry and lemon aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, tangy and vivid. Tight center-palate." James Suckling

"Walnuts, bitter chocolate, cherries and tapenade on the nose. Savory and chewy, medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a compact, meaty finish." James Suckling
"A proper Riserva, this could do with another year or so in the cellar and will have mid-term ageing potential. A selection from the Casale vineyard, one of four estate plots, on a loose clay and sandy soil with limestone, it's typically the last to be harvested. The seductive nose shows a subtle hint of vanilla mixed with heady truffle and cedar nuances. There is lovely purity of cherry and plum on the ample, concentrated palate, while dry, commanding tannins give plenty of structure." Decanter

Dark ruby red. La Bandina is a parade Valpolicella with a very complex, nuanced bouquet of small wild berries, cherries, liquorice and tobacco. "Medium ruby red with garnet reflections. In the nose of lush raspberry and ripe forest berries, some spice and leather in the aftertaste. On the palate fruity-sweet and with light spice, with well-integrated tannin, persistent final." Falstaff
"The freshest vintage of this wine I have ever tasted. Wonderful acidity. Plum skins and scent of bruised rose petals. Deep thyme-scented cherry fruit; tannins that feel as fine but also as firm as slightly unripe cherry fruit; the scent of rose petal tea, of rooibos; the pungency of blood orange. Lovely depth on the finish with the fragrant zest and freshness of lavender." Jancis Robinson
"Fresh nose of plum fruit, along with pressed flowers, clean minerals and a hint of citrus. Opens on the palate, adding a mushroomy note to the profile that carries through to the finish. Medium-bodied with fine, unobtrusive tannins." James Suckling
"The 2019 Valpolicella Superiore La Bandina opens with a dusting of exotic spice, giving way to grilled sage and black cherries. This is remarkably pure and elegant in style, with silky textures ushering in rose-tinged red fruits as a black pepper hint emerges toward the close. Framing tannins punctuate the red beautifully as the single-vineyard La Bandina finishes spicy with an air of lavender that lingers." Vinous

"A blend of fruit from the Verzella, Solicchiata, Feudo di Mezzo and Guardiola vineyards, which lie between 650 and 900 metres above sea level. This Rosso is vinified in stainless steel and then matured for 12 months in large barrels and tonneaux. “Palazzo della Torre” Rosso Veronese IGT 2020
This Venetian is exceptionally rich, concentrated and fresh in character with international appeal. Dried black cherry, plum and star anise are flanked by finely woven tannins and fresh acidity. Impeccable and a paragon of concentration and flavour enhancement. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, deep dark ruby red colour. Opens invitingly on the nose, with lots of savoury fruit, concentrated and spicy, slightly animal on the finish. Soft and flattering on the palate, opulent, with great presence and a long finish." Falstaff
"The Palazzo della Torre 2020, a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese, is lush, dark and extremely modern in style and execution. It is a soft and well-structured expression with layers of ripe fruit, black cherry, spice, dark chocolate and spicy Spanish cedar from the oak ageing. The oak is quite dominant, so be prepared for this particular stylistic approach." Wine Advocate
"A part of this wine undergoes a drying process called appassimento and is then blended with the undried wine. This process gives the wine richness and intensity, while maintaining the freshness necessary for the wine's balance. Aromas of blackberries, cassis, sour cherries, mixed herbs and dried violets emanate from the glass. On the palate, the wine is rich yet balanced, with savoury notes and forest floor intertwining with the densely packed fruit, and a perfectly timed pop of acidity on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2020 Palazzo della Torre impresses with a seductive bouquet of exotic spices, cedar shavings, lavender and dried black cherries. This is soft textured and racy in style, with sleek red and blue fruits that flow across a core of brisk acidity. It leaves a staining of bitter dark chocolate, along with a primary concentration that puckers the cheeks as edgy tannins resonate. The 2020 packs a punch and will require some time to settle down." Vinous
"In the past, all grapes were dried. Today, only the Corvinone is dried due to the large berries and the greater ratio of liquid to solids. While the oak is evident, it is clearly a full-bodied wine built for ageing. In that sense, it serves more as a textural addendum than a shout-out. Notes of dark, saturated cherry, kirsch, liquorice, black olive tapenade and alpine herbs tied to an edgy band of tannin, with an underlying freshness that gives it a juicy, crisp feel and fine length." Ripassa della Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2019
The world-famous Valpolicella Superiore from Zenato, produced using the Ripasso method, is a rich wine with the best value. It is peppery, with earthy tones and gravel giving way to black cherries and savoury herbs. It reveals deep, silky textures balanced by vibrant acids, while ripe red and black fruits resonate under a hint of lavender. Zenato's Ripassa is concentrated and intense, but at the same time conveys elegance and leaves a fresh note of violet candy on the palate that lingers for a long time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Right from the start, this wine shows a beautiful balance between fruity and non-fruity flavours. Aromas of wild plums, dried leaves and fresh flowers share the moment in the glass. The palate is soft and fruity, with flavours of black cherries at the centre. This fruitiness is supported on the finish by notes of turned earth and cocoa." Wine Enthusiast
"The Valpolicella Superiore Ripassa 2019 is dark and brooding in the glass with rich plum and mocha tones accompanied by crushed ash stone. On the inside, it is surprisingly juicy and energetic, combining sour cherry with notes of sage and black olive over a core of vibrant acidity. The 2019 leaves the cheeks tingling and finishes full of tension and spice as the balsamic notes slowly fade away." Vinous
"An elegant red wine of medium body and freshness, with light, fine tannins framing a juicy palette of sun-dried cherries and cranberries, red liquorice, eucalyptus and spiced orange peel that linger on the finish." Wine Spectator
"A beautiful blend of red berries, bright orange peel and spicy cedar on the nose that transitions into a full, round and silky palate with very fine tannins that are well integrated into the texture. Lots of flavour and good length. It's hard not to be satisfied with a glass or two of this. Lasting. Drink it now." James Suckling

“Trevigne” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2021
In contrast to the past, this full and fragrant Barbera is now aged to a greater percentage in large oak barrels - and less in barriques. This benefits the softness, fruitiness and suppleness of this beautiful wine. Tre Vigne means that the grapes come in equal parts from the top vineyards Mosconi, Ginestra and San Pietro. Deep dark ruby red. The bouquet has a fine scent of sour cherries and violets, the full and soft taste has a pleasantly fresh acidity that refines the long drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe, somewhat toasty nose, with brooding black fruits. Good fruit concentration, structure and intensity with candied, ripe and fresh plum flavours. The fresh acidity is balanced by moderate tannins. A long finish that is very bright and youthful." Decanter
"The Domenico Clerico 2021 Barbera d'Alba Trevigne is a particularly fruit-driven wine with blackberries, dark plums and spices. Winemaker Oscar Arrivabene says this is a very good year for Barbera. The wine feels lush and soft on the palate and goes well with cheese-filled pasta." Wine Advocate
"Intense ruby red with violet shimmer. In the nose ripe plum and blackberry, behind pepper and tobacco. On the palate juicy start, great tension, refreshing acidity, polished tannin, animating, discreetly salty final." Falstaff

A classic from Castellina in Chianti, rich in finesse every year and unbeatable with white meat dishes and sugos. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Clear and expressive on the nose, blackberry and redcurrant, followed by some thyme and cloves as well as white pepper and marzipan. Refreshing and lively on the palate, pleasantly savoury, ripe, well-integrated tannins, vibrant acidity, juicy and animating through to the final." Falstaff
"Transparent ruby red colour. Fully ripe fruit with an intense, characteristic, rustic and spicy aroma. Lots of acidity and light tannin after very pure, tangy fruit on the palate. Extremely fresh and quite persistent with a certain fruit fullness. Really very refined and ethereal." Jancis Robinson
"The 2021 Chianti Classico Fonterutoli smells of dark cherry, plum, leather, liquorice, menthol, dried herbs, incense and sage. Supple and expressive, with marvellous depth, the 2021 is a fine edition of pure Chianti Classico." Vinous
"The Chianti Classico Fonterutoli 2021 comes from a vintage that delivered great results throughout the region. It is somewhat darker, stronger and more concentrated than the normal entry-level Chianti Classico. Cherry and dark plum give way to beautiful mineral tones. This added intensity is part of the house style and a little gift for those who appreciate more meat on the Sangiovese bones." Wine Advocate
"Notes of raspberries and cherries with red liquorice, dried orange peel and spices. Medium to full-bodied with a fleshy structure. The tannins are broad and velvety with a juicy, red-fruity mid-palate. Fresh and crisp on the finish." James Suckling

“Anna” Pinot Bianco Turmhof Alto Adige DOC 2021
Bright lemon yellow with golden yellow accents. Pinot Blanc Anna Turmhof, with flavours of pear, peach and floral notes, is an unusually soft and beautiful wine, rich and concentrated, with class and refinement. Its fresh acidity is a lively accompaniment to the very pleasant finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Pinot Blanc Anna is unobtrusive with a nuanced blend of young peach and wet stone. The palate is round and soft with a mineral note of fruit trees. Sour melon and salty minerals linger on the finish with medium length." Vinous
"From a screw-cap bottle, the Tiefenbrunner 2021 Alto Adige Weissburgunder Pinot Blanc Anna has an oaked and open-knit quality with oxidative aromas of dried peach, smoke, kerosene and flint over a round, medium-weight mouthfeel. The wine ends on a dry note with good acidity." Wine Advocate
"This wine oscillates between lush tropical fruit notes and tart green apples on the nose. In between the fruit are fresh flavours of yellow wildflowers and gravel. The palate is waxy with honey, roasted hazelnuts and baked pears. The wine has a long and complex finish that is simply captivating, as every aroma and flavour transports you to the mountains of Alto Adige." Wine Enthusiast

“Kleinstein” Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC 2022
The famous Gewürztraminer "Kleinstein" from Cantina Bolzano is a nutty-scented drop with complex aromas of ripe fruit, dried flowers and a hint of rosewood. Its taste is reminiscent of honeydew melon and mountain herbs with a slight hint of citrus. Gripping texture, lively acidity, fine minerality and a slightly spicy sweetness combine to create a highly balanced pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fragrant nose of rose petals, white pepper, melon and mangosteen. Full-bodied, oily and spicy, with weighty and round layers. A big wine at 15% alcohol, but balanced with floral freshness." James Suckling
"Intense, bright straw yellow. Aromatically pronounced nose, ripe fruit, reminiscent of bananas and lychee, with rose petals behind. Impressive and persistent on the palate, great tension, first a lot of exotic fruit notes, again lychee as well as a hint of mango, in the finish a lot of nutmeg." Falstaff

Etna Rosso DOC 2021
Sparkling ruby red colour, intense and appealing mineral aroma of plums, orange zest, ripe raspberries and a hint of liquorice in the background. Elegant tannins and a delicious fruity flavour on the juicy palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"This fresh, harmonious red wine shows aromas of black cherries, Earl Grey tea, ground pepper and fine tannins with a base note of tar-like minerality that lingers on the finish." Wine Spectator
"An earthy, savory nose recalls the volcanic soil of Etna's slopes, while the astringency of cranberries, hibiscus, cherries and fennel provide the sparkle of the Italian sun glinting off the snow. The cherries dance on the palate, but a bitter citrus undertone highlights enduring notes of earth and herbs. Acid buzzes around dusty, chewy tannins." Wine Enthusiast

“Core” Bianco Campania IGT 2022
Wonderful cuvée of Greco and Fiano. An opulent potpourri of passion fruit, peach and honeydew melon on the nose. Not too heavy on the palate, but rather prancing and elegant with a wonderfully fresh structure. Beautiful balance, complex and full-bodied finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Here's a fun and versatile unoaked white to bring chilled to an outdoor lunch. A blend of equal parts Fiano and Greco, the Montevetrano 2022 Core Bianco carries a slender approach with enough texture to support fragrant apple, honey and white currant. The wine's aromatic range is very pretty, and the best part is the salty or mineral end note that gives a spark of energy." Wine Advocate
"A lovely blend of fiano and greco here, offering rich aromas of ripe, mixed fruit salad, as well as notes of pressed flowers and minerals. Medium-bodied with an intense palate, including a phenolic note that gives it a structured feel." James Suckling

Etna Rosato DOC 2022
Fresh rosato with a flavour of dark berries and a hint of lavender. Clear fruit on the palate, with elegant suppleness, a fine mineral note and, last but not least, an appealing palatability. SUPERIORE.DE
"This steely, saline rosé comes from a dedicated vineyard, and the fruit is cryo-macerated in the press for up to six hours to obtain the ideal colour. It offers delicious yet simple crunchy green apple, apricot and delicate, bright cherry and strawberry." Decanter
"A bright and fragrant rosé with notes of cherry blossom, peaches, rosehips and strawberries. Medium-bodied, creamy and delicate, but with plenty of flavour and a dry and delicious finish." James Suckling
"The Cottanera 2022 Etna Rosato is beautiful in the glass, with pink, golden and copper-coloured reflections. The colour of the wine is achieved with just three to four hours of skin contact and is aged in steel. The fruit for this wine comes from a vineyard specially cultivated for the production of rosé. The bouquet is floral at the front and fruity at the back. It shows balance and precision with a mineral finish. This is one of my favourite rosé wines from Italy, especially in this price range." “Montebruna” Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2020
Fantastic Barbera from a world-famous vineyard, complex aromas of dark red, plump, juicy cherries, the finest spices and black forest berries on the nose. In the mouth, polished, dense, enormous amounts of glycerine and sweetish fruit, present but silky tannins, finely enveloped by the fruit, rich in finesse, persistent, first-class acidity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich garnet red in the glass. The nose is characterised by hazelnut and nougat, with a hint of mint, dark berry fruit and dried cherries also appear with air. Emphatically fruity on the palate, rich cherry fruit, finely chiselled acidity that gives it tension and freshness. Youthful with great ageing potential. Mature green notes. Alcohol is excellently integrated, appears slender, elegant and silky. Typical, pleasant bitter note on the long finish." Vinum
"Soft and imbued with cherry, blackberry and earthy flavours, this red wine is fleshy from start to finish. Almond and spice accents are evident on the finish, along with light tannins." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Barbera d'Asti Montebruna is a powerful and rich red wine with notes of ripe berries, roasted spices, cinnamon and grilled Mediterranean herbs. Despite its strength and vigour, the mouthfeel is supported by a fresh acidity and a strong alcohol content of 15%." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of cherry chocolate, dark liquorice, hints of bark and damp earth. Full-bodied with a velvety, supple tannin structure and a slightly chalky texture on the finish. Juicy and full of flavour." James Suckling
"The Barbera d'Asti Montebruna 2020 is dark and lush from the start. Spices, leather, tobacco, menthol, dried flowers and mocha all come together as this intense, lush Asti Barbera shows its considerable charm. In 2021, the Montebruna is quite dense and brooding, but all elements are impeccably balanced." Vinous
"This wine opens with aromas of fresh and macerated black cherries that transition to wild flowers, savoury spices and wild herbs. The palate is concentrated with lush ripe red and blackberries, cola and sweet spices. The wine is round and fleshy and is balanced by the natural acidity of the Barbera itself." Wine Enthusiast

“Is Solinas” Carignano del Sulcis Riserva DOC 2020
The barrique-aged Is Solinas, which was vinified for the first time as a Riserva from 100% Carignano in the 2014 vintage, is remarkable. Deep red in colour, an independent, delicately spicy bouquet, hints of red fruit and balsamic notes. The palate reveals an astonishing fullness of extract, dense, soft, harmonious, complex and long-lasting. SUPERIORE.DE
"Vibrant and silky, this juicy red reveals a beam of raspberry coulis flavors. Finely balanced, with good weight and focus on the palate, but still light on its feet. Offers an underpinning of fresh loamy earth and details of dried lavender, milk chocolate and ground anise and pepper, which add complexity and linger on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Slate and dried berries with undertones of walnut, bark and mushrooms. Full-bodied and multi-layered with plenty of fruit and intensity. Juicy tannins and chewy texture, but it's polished and very pretty. Better in a year or two, but already excellent now." James Suckling

“Romitòro” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
Syrah and Petit Verdot form the basis for an exciting cuvée with which the Chia family once again demonstrates its great talent for the wines of Tuscany. Deep dark garnet red. On the nose, an unexpected cornucopia of dark, smoky fruits, plus spicy herbs, multi-layered and deep. Impressive texture on the palate, we find spicy notes of raspberry, a salty vein and invigorating acidity. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Romitoro is packed full of balanced pleasure. It’s dark yet also rich and spicy, with blue-toned florals giving way to currants, worn leather and smoke. This is elegant and plush on the palate, with masses of tart wildberries energized by zesty acidity while giving way to inner rose perfumes. The 2020 finishes with amazing length and potency, as it leaves a staining of liquid lavender and sweet violets. The Romitoro, a blend of Petit Verdot and Syrah, is showing beautifully today." Vinous
"Strawberries, red cherries, bark, walnuts, cedar and chocolate orange on the nose with hints of truffle. Medium-bodied with firm, chalky tannins. Focused and flavorful." James Suckling
"The 2020 RomiTòro is a blend of Petit Verdot and Syrah, and it does a terrific job of capturing the exuberance and jovial qualities of sunny Tuscany. The wine shows layers of candied cherries, crème de cassis, sweet almond paste and even a touch of crushed mineral or aspirin. This is creamy and rich in texture, with lots of plump primary flavors and absolutely no rough edges." Wine Advocate
