Sugarille has always been the most aristocratic of the three Brunellos of the house. Especially in the dream year of 2016, when everything was right for an exceptional wine. If the 2015 is the representative of the rather warmer style, this edition here is hard to beat for coolness, distinction and finesse. On the palate, a dense core of primary fruit, excitingly surrounded by a salty-mineral vein that we otherwise only find in Giacomo Neri's Tenuta Nuova. This wine awakens the imagination, because it never reveals too much of itself, but opens up slowly at first, then in good proportion with a mysterious depth and race, flanked by direct and linear tannins, which round off the polyphonic palate concert excellently. Massimo Piccin is living the dream of giving new expression to Bordeaux growths from Bolgheri and producing wines that combine power, elegance and longevity. And so the Sapaio offers its full, vital and tannin-rich style magnificently and allows plenty of time for the finish. Once again, some of the grapes come from Bibbona, i.e. outside the Bolgheri DOC, so that this great wine can only bear the addition Toscana IGT.
Wonderful, animating bouquet of blackcurrants, blueberries, lavender and a delicate hint of chocolate. Firm on the palate, full-bodied, multi-layered with an attractive sweetness of extract, finely woven but very present tannins and a resting, seamless substance that leaves nothing to be desired right through to the long and flavoursome finish. Barbaresco Roncaglie “Masseria” DOCG 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
First bottled in 1967, the Masseria comes from a vineyard in Bricco di Neive and is essentially vinified and aged like a Barolo. The 2018 vintage - now for the first time from a small parcel that used to belong to the Barbaresco winery Socré - was also deliberately released a year later to provide more harmony and balance. Vietti's Masseria is always delicate and refined, and this is all the more true for the current vintage.
On the nose, aromas of red fruits, especially blackberries and currants, but also earthy and bloody notes. In the mouth, the polished and shiny tannins typical of the vineyard, framed by a very vertical and precise fruit and herbaceous nuances. In the long finish, a wonderful freshness, then subtle notes of menthol and again this fascinating herbal spiciness. Barolo Lazzarito DOCG 2018

Barolo Rocche di Castiglione DOCG 2018
The supremely potent Rocche di Castiglione is often referred to as the first "official" cru in the history of Langa (along with Bussia di Prunotto, both of which were released with the 1961 vintage). It confirms itself once again as the great classic of the house with the 2018 edition. Dark fruits, pressed lilac, blood orange, powdered liquorice, balsamic herbs, spices, iron ore and aniseed fit together perfectly like pieces of a puzzle. Barolo Brunate DOCG 2018
Luca Currado cultivates the Brunate Cru on the La Morra side of the vineyard (opposite the Barolo side) and this wine contains fruit from new plots. It convinces with an impressive aroma of red berries, cherries, wild herbs, mint, minerals and rose petals, rounded off by a hint of blood orange. On the palate we find a terrific softness and textural silkiness, this continues with hints of mint, liquorice and camphor ash for many minutes. In 1991, Turriga was one of the first bottled wines ever to be exported from the island. The DNA of this exceptional wine sounds as simple as it is perfect: its sophisticated blend of grape varieties gives it its unique structure, roundness, fullness, fruit and a perfectly balanced portion of tannins.

Batàr is undoubtedly reminiscent of Burgundy, but with unmistakable Tuscan authenticity. Vintage after vintage, Querciabella's forward-thinking winemaking has moved beyond the hedonistic idea of growing foreign, albeit noble, white grapes in a stronghold of red wines to focus on expressing a particular sense of place. The Batàr's inherent vitality and classic minerality clearly come from the high altitude vineyards of Ruffoli and the Galestro soils typical of the best Chianti Classico sites.
Batàr's legendary ability to defy age and improve over time requires a careful combination of hand-picked Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco grapes, timely micro-vinification and patient ageing in barrel. The long time on the lees in high-quality French barriques allows the individual lots to develop their best expression. Only when the optimal maturation is complete is the final assemblage put together through extensive sampling. Further maturation in the bottle before release seals the multi-layered texture that is the proverbial mouthfeel of Batàr.

The already very well-balanced and classic 2018 vintage can gain again with Fuligni, because no Riserva was produced. Ruby red with orange reflections. Powerful on the palate, the silky tannins give it elegance and the necessary balance, its complexity comes to the fore with every sip. This very authentic and strongly focused Brunello can be counted among the best of the vintage, its wonderfully balanced proportions and its juiciness will give it further impetus in the coming years. The choice of grape variety and vintage for the Cantina Terlan inery's rarity wine are secrets that are closely guarded for a long time - until just a few weeks before the official presentation. In spring 2023, Cantina Terlan Winery traditionally presented its new strictly limited rarity wine. The winery management decided on the Pinot Bianco 2010. The Pinot Blanc 2010 is the eleventh rare wine to be stored under the expert direction of Kofler.
Light, bright straw yellow with delicate greenish reflections. Impressively fresh on the nose - herbal notes of camomile, lemon balm and lovage as well as a hint of dried persimmon and apricot. At the same time, the multi-faceted bouquet also has a scent of bread crust and yeast plait paired with a subtle flint aroma. Smooth and powerful on the palate with a crisp, fresh acidity that nevertheless leaves a delicate impression and ideally complements the mineral tension. As the wine progresses, it shows its power and a certain pressure, which, however, never comes across as wild or ostentatious, but always reflects the elegance of the site and the Giacosa-typical ageing in large wood.
