“Core” Bianco Campania IGT 2024
A project from the heart in two senses: Core (Italian for heart) is an elegant blend of 50% Greco Bianco and 50% Fiano, whose contrast and harmony subtly reflect the essence of Campania. The grapes come from chalky, medium to high altitude vineyards in the Sannio region – matured on cool nights with great aromatic precision. Pale golden yellow in the glass with a silvery lustre. The bouquet entices with fresh aromas of white peach, yellow pear, citrus zest and a hint of elderflower, underpinned by fine herbal spice and a mineral finish. On the palate, the wine is lively and elegant: a precise balance between juicy fruit, animating acidity and a subtle salty trace. The stainless steel fermentation with bâtonnage on the fine lees adds depth without too much weight. Core is a fresh, harmonious white wine with a great sense of origin that stylishly conveys origin, grape variety and style. SUPERIORE.DE

“Core” Rosato Campania IGT 2025
The trilogy is complete: after Core Rosso (since 2011) and Core Bianco (since 2015), Silvia Imparato is finalising her homage to Campania's great grape varieties with the first Core Rosato 2025. Core – neapolitan for heart, for love – also comes from the volcanic vineyards of the Sannio near Benevento, where tuff, volcanic ash and limestone give the Aglianico a unique minerality. Short skin contact, then vinified like a white wine under the direction of Riccardo Cotarella.

“Core” Aglianico Campania IGT 2022
A big step on the path to depth: Core Rosso is the red-black equivalent of the well-known white wine – a single-varietal Aglianico that uncompromisingly embodies the power and elegance of this indigenous grape variety. Good balance, ripe fruit and fine acidity.

“Montevetrano” Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT 2019
Silvia Imparato's noble Montevetrano is one of Riccardo Cotarella's first creations and certainly one of his most important to this day. Deep ruby red with violet reflections. Rich aromas of dark plums, blackcurrants, cedar, graphite and minerals on the captivating nose. Clean, fresh, juicy on the palate with an engaging, refined texture. There are liquorice and violet aromas on the long, graceful and layered finish. A very promising, still young Montevetrano with a great future! SUPERIORE.DE

!["Montevetrano 30 anni" Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT 2021]()
“Montevetrano 30 anni” Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT 2021
The 30th anniversary vintage – and a Montevetrano that epitomises three decades of pioneering work in its stylistic precision and inner calm. Silvia Imparato has been combining the best of Mediterranean warmth and international finesse in this wine since 1991. 2021 brought ripe, healthy harvest, harvested in cool morning hours to preserve freshness and flavour density. Deep dark ruby with a youthful purple colour. The bouquet opens slowly, almost like a theatre curtain: blackcurrant, cherry, blackberry, fine herbal tones, cedar wood, dark chocolate and a hint of graphite. Superbly balanced on the palate – powerful, but not heavy, with fine-grained tannins and clear, juicy fruit, carried by a lively, perfectly proportioned acidity. Several months of ageing in French barriques adds subtle roasted flavours and depth of flavour without masking the terroir expression. Montevetrano 2021 is an anniversary that does not celebrate loudly, but with timeless elegance – a wine statement that tells a story and at the same time sets standards for the future. SUPERIORE.DE

“Montevetrano” Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT 2022
It all began with friendship and a love of experimentation: in the mid-1980s, when a group of wine lovers led by photographer Silvia Imparato started their first experiments on the family vineyard in the Campania hinterland. One of these friends was Riccardo Cotarella, now one of Italy's most famous Oenologist. In 1991, the first bottle of a wine was produced that would soon go down in history as the "Sassicaia of the South" – a title that Robert Parker awarded it in 1995 and which still resonates today. The winery is located in the Monti Picentini Regional Park near San Cipriano Picentino, just a few kilometres from Salerno. The five hectares of vineyards lie at an altitude of 100 metres in the shadow of a medieval castle, surrounded by oak, chestnut and citrus groves. The medium-textured soil with a high proportion of skeleton, the south-west exposure and the protection of the Picentini mountains create a microclimate in which Mediterranean mildness meets cool nights.

"The most exciting thing is when I can taste a wine that I don't know anything about."says Silvia Imparato.
The pioneer in the Campanian wine world and owner of the magnificent Montevetrano winery, in earlier years she regularly had the opportunity to enjoy many of the lesser-known, but still magnificent, wines of the world. Only then did she decide to make her own wine on the small family estate in the province of Salerno together with the famous oenologist Riccardo Cotarella: This was the birth of Montevetrano. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Aglianico and sold year after year in modified blends, this wine has since conquered the hearts of wine lovers around the globe as one of the world's most famous cuvées.
Although Silvia's grandparents used to produce wine, fruit, nuts and olive oil for their own use, the trained photographer came to Rome in the 1980s at a wine tasting by chance. From an initial adventure with only a few thousand bottles produced, Montevetrano, a district of the municipality of San Cipriano Picentino, has become a top winery. Today, Azienda Agricola Montevetrano bottles around 30,000 bottles for almost a single label. This exceptional wine, which determines the image of an entire region, is certified by experts to have survived every debate on contemporary tastes and its style.
The grape varieties harvested in the vineyard under the strict control of Domenico La Rocca are vinified separately in the 400 square metre cellar. The separation of the fruits is carried out because, on the one hand, the harvest times vary and, on the other hand, Riccardo Cotarella determines the final mixture only after fermentation. The wine is first stored in steel vats for about 15 days before resting in new wooden barrels for ten to twelve months. This guarantees proper ageing and a perfectly balanced ripening process that preserves the typical regional characteristics of Montevetrano.
Cotarella, who has long been a friend of the landowner, is considered one of the most respected representatives of his profession in Italy. The president of the Union Internationale des Oenologues is known worldwide for flagships such as Tignanello and Solaia. And again and again the sought-after wine magician ("Il Mago"), previously unknown regions such as Campania - and above all the Montevetrano winery - to extract absolute top wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"There are no new fashions or trends that could shake the generally recognised authority of Montevetrano and its creator, Silvia Imparato ... Montevetrano is now rocking an entire wine-growing region, today more of a classic than an avant-garde label."Gambero Rosso
