Ramitello is unjustly overshadowed by Contado. Yet it is a potential favourite red wine that perfectly embodies the intensity of southern Molise. Made from 80% Montepulciano and 20% Aglianico, Ramitello matures for around 18 months, partly in barriques and partly in stainless steel tanks, followed by around six months of bottle ageing. In the glass, it has a deep ruby colour with violet reflections. The bouquet is brooding and complex: ripe plum and blackberry combine with spicy notes of leather, liquorice, eucalyptus and a hint of coffee. The palate shows excellent balance: dense fruit, structured, grippy tannins and a long, fruit-accentuated finish that is characterised by tension and naturalness. Chardonnay Alto Adige DOC 2024
Full-bodied and yet refreshing – this is Peter Zemmer's Chardonnay from the best vineyards around Kurtinig in the South Tyrolean lowlands. The vines, grafted onto low-growing rootstock and trained using the Guyot system, benefit from the favourable location at the bottom of the valley, ideal sunshine and good ventilation of the grapes. The hand-picked berries macerate on their skins for a few hours in a cool place before pressing – a step that transfers the fruity flavours from the grape skin into the must and intensifies the bouquet. After gentle pressing and natural sedimentation, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 19 °C in stainless steel to preserve the fresh fruit character.

The name alludes to the characteristic colouring that results from the gentlest maceration: Just a few hours of skin contact at controlled cool temperatures preserve the natural freshness and minerality of the organically grown grapes. Careful manual harvesting and immediate cooling of the grapes to 5-10°C guarantee optimum flavour yield. The temperate climate and unique pedoclimatic conditions of the estate create ideal conditions for a Sangiovese rosé of impressive finesse.

The annual wine guide "Bibenda Vini d'Italia, Grappe e Ristoranti, l'Orchestra Italiani" with more than 2.000 pages is taken from the former publication "duemilavini"which was published together with the Sommelierverand. Until 2013, the renowned wine guide was published under the name Duemilavini. In the Bibendaannual digital edition, published in November, the members of the Italian Sommelier Association AIS have summarized their tasting results. Here wines from all over Italy are discussed, which are vividly arranged according to the different cultivation areas. In addition to the best wines and the most important wineries, the best restaurants in Italy are also awarded prizes.
The editor-in-chief of this wine guide is Franco M. Ricci, President of the Fondazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS). The wines are criticized by the critics – like the predecessor Duemilavini – are assessed according to a strict 100-point scheme and the top wines are rated with up to "Cinque Grappoli" (Five grapes) was awarded. More than 20,000 wines from more than 1,600 producers are tasted each year, with only 400 to 500 wines receiving the highest rating each year. The compendium is supplemented by an evaluation of 26 grappa distilleries and a guide to over 1,700 Italian restaurants.
