A deep, glossy red. The bouquet offers a beguiling blend of dark cherries, plums, mocha, liquorice, leather and cloves. On the palate, the fruit is very compact and powerful, characterised by profound intensity, dense layers and a velvety texture. "The 2022 Saffredi is a powerhouse that is still far too young, with a finely defined body; a decathlete in stature, yet one that also possesses a few dance-like elements. Dense and voluptuous, with that typical Mediterranean richness and herbal spiciness, wonderfully floral with notes of violets and lavender, fine chocolate, leather and liquorice. It remains linear and disciplined as it develops, despite its velvety and melt-in-the-mouth richness, as if this powerhouse were being guided into a tight corset, with a gripping freshness on final.
