“Oasi San Giacomo” Soave DOC 2024
Light yellow in the glass, with greenish nuances - this Soave surprises with its clarity and elegance. The nose has aromas of green apple, lemon, white peach and a subtle hint of almond blossom. The palate is fresh, juicy and racy, with lively acidity, delicate fruit structure and a fine hint of mineral tension. The ageing in stainless steel preserves the typical muscat flavour of Garganega and its pure origin. An uncomplicated, stylish white wine with Mediterranean freshness, ideal with seafood, light dishes or simply on its own in the sunshine. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Oasi Mantellina" Lugana DOC 2024]()
“Oasi Mantellina” Lugana DOC 2024
A small lake, over 60 animal species, some of them rare, and in the middle of it all: 30 hectares of Turbiana vines (Trebbiano di Soave). Oasi Mantellina in Pozzolengo is the Allegrini family's latest chapter, a commitment to one of the most exciting white wine appellations in northern Italy. The soils here differ from classic Lugana: sandier, interspersed with gravel. The result is wines with lively acidity instead of heavy minerality. After gentle pressing, the 2024 matures for four months in steel, followed by two months in the bottle.

!["Palazzo della Torre" Rosso Veronese IGT 2022]()
“Palazzo della Torre” Rosso Veronese IGT 2022
Next to the Villa della Torre in Fumane, this elegant testimony to the Italian Renaissance, lies a vineyard that awoke from its slumber in 1960. Giovanni Allegrini recognised the potential of the neglected terrain and began to recultivate it. In 1978, it became a wine in its own right and the name became the programme: Palazzo della Torre, a cru that brought Allegrini international fame. Six times in the Wine Spectator Top 100, the secret? In 1990, Franco Allegrini introduced an innovation that changed Valpolicella: double fermentation. Some of the grapes, Corvina, Rondinella and Sangiovese, undergo a short appassimento. The freshly fermented wine is then added to this dried marc, where a second fermentation begins. More elegant than Ripasso, more complex than classic Valpolicella.

!["Grola" Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2022]()
“Grola” Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2022
La Grola is the eponymous, historic vineyard where Corvina, the indigenous grape of Valpolicella, is believed to have originated. The replanting of the vineyard by Giovanni Allegrini triggered an agronomic revolution and laid the foundations for the success of this wine-growing region, which today stands for convincing, great red wines from north-east Italy. With the 2022 vintage, La Grola returns to its origins: declared Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC for the first time, it marks a new phase for this iconic wine from Allegrini. The cuvée of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella comes from the limestone terraces of the La Grola hill, exposed to the south-east and consistently selectively harvested. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is matured in barriques, some new, some used.

According to Giovanni, those who mastered Recioto mastered everything. He died in 1983 without experiencing the full bloom of his life's work. Seven years later, in 1990, his children Franco, Walter and Marilisa dedicated this wine to him – the oldest in Valpolicella, whose origins date back to Roman times. Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2020
Initially youthfully reserved, it needs to be "coaxed" to reveal its aromas of dried black cherries, mocha and cloves, underscored by a hint of fresh mint. Impressive on the palate with a blend of sweet spices, lush ripe wild berries and a silky texture balanced by lively acidity and a pleasantly bitter hint of dark chocolate towards the finish. Finishes classically dry with dramatic length and potency, leaving a layer of fine-grained tannins that saturate and promise many years of positive development. Allegrini has hit the bull's eye with this wine. SUPERIORE.DE

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2021
The Allegrini family has been contributing to the history of Valpolicella since the 16th century. Giovanni Allegrini, the visionary, is considered the architect of its rebirth. A man they called "il ragno delle botti", the cellar master spider, because he wandered restlessly between his barrels, always in search of perfection. His son Franco carried on the legacy, revolutionising the Appassimento with the construction of the Terre di Fumane – a state-of-the-art drying facility that precisely controls temperature, humidity and air circulation. Since 2022, the winery has been in the hands of the third generation: Francesco, Giovanni, Matteo and Silvia. The Amarone comes from vines that have been rooted for over 30 years on the hills of Fumane, between 450 and 520 metres above sea level, on clay and limestone soils of volcanic origin. Corvina Veronese and Corvinone each make up 45 per cent of the cuvée, supplemented by Rondinella and Oseleta. After the manual harvest in September, the transformation begins: the grapes rest in the fruttaio for four months, losing 40 to 45 per cent of their weight and concentrating sugar and aromas. Gentle pressing in January, followed by 25 days of maceration at a controlled temperature. Ageing: 18 months in new barriques, a further seven months in large barrels and finally 14 months in the bottle – a total of over three years before the wine leaves the winery.

The Allegrini winery, with its headquarters and vineyards in Fumane, and other vineyards in the municipalities of Sant'Ambrogio and San Pietro are among the leading wine producers of Valpolicella Classica. The farm belongs to the family of the same name, which has been rooted in the area since the 16th century. The drops available on the market at reasonable prices are an expression of the history of the Valpolicella Classico area. With sensitivity and great respect for local winemaking traditions, the Allegrini family cultivates more than one hundred and fifty hectares of estate vineyards in a picturesque setting near Verona. The wines, full of character and of the highest quality, are produced exclusively from carefully selected grapes rich in aroma and elegance.
In the course of time, radical innovations in viticulture, but also in the air-drying technique of the grapes and the oenological processes in the barrel cellar were introduced in the old-established company in Veneto. The owners always had the goal in mind to get the best out of the Valpolicella's trusted quality potential. The result of Allegrini's long research activities are soft, sensual and fruity wines at world level, with the famous Amarone at the top.
Most of the historic vineyards, some of which are still built with dry stone walls, are located in the most representative areas of the Valpolicella valley. This also includes the Palazzo della Torre cru vineyard. The soils are rich in clay and the microclimate is perfect. The legendary La Grola vineyard in the Mazzurega zone, acquired by father Giovanni, is also of considerable value, with its volcanic origins and ideal climate for growing the red varieties Corvina Veronese and Rondinella. Also the vineyard La Poja belongs to the best sites of the whole Valpolicella area. The Allegrini family has carefully studied the climatic differences and the specific characteristics of each plot of land. It has proved to be right to rehabilitate very old and poorly planted vineyards. However, not all vineyards in the estate use modern espalier planting in the Guyot system. For older sticks the traditional pergola education is maintained.
The range of the winery is complemented by the Corte Giara line. Here you can find numerous charming and very popular wines, whose characteristics are characterized by freshness and aromatic intensity. The philosophy behind it: Serious wines for uncomplicated enjoyment, which successfully reflect their origins and meet the desire of many customers for a modern style.
Therefore, as early as 1989, the Allegrini family began to sign long-term leases for qualified terroirs near Lake Garda and other suitable appellations. The vines cultivated here have been selected for their respective terroirs and needs, and thus a broad base of classic Veronese wines thrives in the Corte Giara vineyards. Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, Soave and Bardolino are among them, as well as the international varieties Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot, which are widely grown in the Veneto.
The Allegrini family passes on from generation to generation their profound knowledge of viticulture and the production of the finest wines. Fumane is constantly being experimented with and modernised. All important wine critics agree in their opinion: The Azienda Agricola Allegrini ranks among the absolute top of the Italian wine world. In the 2016 edition of the prestigious Italian wine guide Gambero RossoAllegrini was awarded the title 'Winery of the year' was awarded. SUPERIORE.DE
"This company has contributed a great deal to the international reputation of Amarone, since the high quality of the wines is complemented by reasonable prices and a close-meshed distribution."Gambero Rosso
