“Vernaiolo” Chianti DOCG 2024
Vernaiolo is one of the oldest members of the Rocca delle Macìe family and has always been the estate's most traditional example of Chianti. Its name is derived from the Latin vernāle, which means "of spring" and indicates the season in which the Chianti was bottled after it had survived the winter. Even today, this lively, ruby-red wine is ready to drink in the spring after the harvest and retains its fresh and fruity characteristics for a long time.

!["Sasyr" Rosso Toscana IGT 2023]()
“Sasyr” Rosso Toscana IGT 2023
As the name Sasyr suggests, this wine is a blend of Sangiovese and Syrah. Only 15 per cent of the Sangiovese matures for six months in large oak barrels, the rest comes from stainless steel. Pretty red colour with notes of blood orange, blueberries, crushed violets, dried herbs and some cedar wood. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh, dense finish. Sasyr is a fresh and harmonious red wine for many occasions. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Famiglia Zingarelli" Chianti Classico DOCG 2023]()
“Famiglia Zingarelli” Chianti Classico DOCG 2023
This Sangiovese expression full of character, which bears the authentic face of Chianti Classico, comes from the privileged vineyards around Castellina in Chianti. The Zingarelli family, who have been dedicated to this exceptional terroir for five decades, rely on hand-picked grapes, predominantly Sangiovese with a subtle proportion of Merlot, for their classic wine. Lively ruby red in the glass with a youthful brilliance. The intense bouquet develops ripe aromas of raspberries and wild strawberries, accompanied by notes of violets and an elegant spiciness with subtle nuances of wood. On the palate, the wine is balanced, structured and warm, with a silky body and fine, never intrusive tannins. The lively freshness harmonises perfectly with the fruity concentration and leads to a lingering aromatic finish. A Chianti Classico that masterfully combines tradition and modernity and expresses the typicality of its origin with youthful purity. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Tenuta S. Alfonso" Chianti Classico DOCG 2023]()
“Tenuta S. Alfonso” Chianti Classico DOCG 2023
A Sangiovese cru that demonstrates the philosophy of single-vineyard viticulture to perfection. Sergio Zingarelli and his team recognised early on the extraordinary potential of the clay-dominated soils of Sant'Alfonso – plots with minimal skeleton content, which create the ideal conditions for concentrated, aromatically complex wines. Sangiovese clones were specifically cultivated here, which harmonise with the clay-rich structures and develop the highest phenol concentrations.

!["Vigna L'Aja Bruciata" Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC 2021]()
“Vigna L’Aja Bruciata” Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC 2021
The grapes for L'Aja Bruciata Vermentino Maremma from Rocca delle Macìe come from a single vineyard of 5 hectares on the Casamaria estate on soils with a sandy clay structure and quartz sandstone at an average altitude of 135 to 150 metres above sea level. The name L'Aja Bruciata is taken from an old cadastral map and is the old place name of this location from which the grapes come. Only 1,800 bottles were produced in the first 2021 vintage. The wonderful richness and complexity of this exceptional Vermentino is the result of 6 months of development in cement on the lees with regular battonage, with part of the fine lees (approx. 5%) maturing in barrique barrels and finally a few months in the bottle.

!["Sergioveto" Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020]()
“Sergioveto” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
Bright ruby red colour. Warm, balsamic bouquet of black cherry, some plum and blackcurrant syrup, then firm, complex and spicy on the palate, the fruit beautifully present and with a wonderfully long finish with notes of leather and sweet tobacco. The well-structured tannins perfectly round off the overall picture of a serious red with personality and character. The 20/24-month ageing in French oak barrels (25-35 hl), followed by a further year in the bottle, enriches the aromatic complexity of the wine with a clear focus on balance and elegance. !["Roccato" Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT 2020]()
“Roccato” Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT 2020
There are stories that only the terroir can tell – and Roccato is one of them. What began in 1988 as a visionary experiment, an equal marriage of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, developed into a legend of the Tuscan Renaissance. In 2015, Sergio Zingarelli took the decisive step. Based on decades of experience that the terroir speaks louder than the grape, the new Roccato was created: a single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from the "Poggio alle Pecchie" vineyard planted in 1996. A paradox of nature – a Bordeaux grape variety that actually breathes Tuscan soul.

“Sergio Zingarelli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
Named after the man who turned his film-loving father's dream into one of the most respected addresses in Tuscany, this wine represents the essence of a twenty-year project: the complete replanting of the Sangiovese vineyards on Le Macìe with the aim of capturing the soul of the terroir in its purest form. Originating from the exquisite "Le Terrazze" vineyard, where Miocene calcareous marl soils at an altitude of 265 to 360 metres create the ideal conditions, a Gran Selezione of exceptional complexity is created here from 100% Sangiovese. The hand-picked grapes undergo ten days of alcoholic fermentation, followed by 15 days of maceration, before the wine is aged for 18 months in French Troncais barriques and a further 20 months in the bottle.

Although the company is one of the largest in Chianti Classico, the owners, Sergio and Daniela Zingarelli, never lose track of their wide range of products, which are distributed in several million bottles per year. Since 1989 Sergio has been the passionate president of the Rocca delle Macìe winery in Castellina. At that time he had taken over the estate from his father Italo Zingarelli, who had acquired it in 1973, after having finished his career as a film producer, as a farm settlement under the name "Le Macìe". "Macìa" means translated into German as "Steinschlag" (rockfall) - and it is precisely this name that characterizes the soils in the Chianti region very well. Italo restored the estate, planting vines and olive groves. In 1978 he launched his first Chianti, which was immediately well received by wine critics, the trade and the gastronomy.
Italo Zingarelli also acquired the nearby Sant'Alfonso winery, which he transformed into a modern wine cellar with modern oenological equipment. To this day, the winery is always kept up to date. With Lorenzo Landi as the new oenologist, the cellar technical approach was also redefined some years ago.
The total area of the company now covers more than 600 hectares, of which more than a third is used for viticulture and 80 hectares for olive growing. Rocca delle Macìe is also renowned for its honey production. Today, the estate includes four estates in Chianti Classico, Macìe, Sant'Alfonso, Fizzano and Tavolelle, as well as two branches in the Maremma, Campomaccione and Casamaria. SUPERIORE.DE
"The company's philosophy is based on a very prudent pricing policy, where quantity and quality do not get in each other's way, but sometimes get to their absolute top form". Gambero Rosso
