There are stories that only the terroir can tell – and Roccato is one of them. What began in 1988 as a visionary experiment, an equal marriage of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, developed into a legend of the Tuscan Renaissance. In 2015, Sergio Zingarelli took the decisive step. Based on decades of experience that the terroir speaks louder than the grape, the new Roccato was created: a single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from the "Poggio alle Pecchie" vineyard planted in 1996. A paradox of nature – a Bordeaux grape variety that actually breathes Tuscan soul.

Deep ruby red in the glass with garnet-coloured reflections. The bouquet is a symphony of dark berries, black pepper and blond tobacco, interspersed with notes of roasted almonds, resin and mineral roots. Opulent fullness unfolds on the palate: velvety flesh and structure, carried by precise, never intrusive tannins. Cocoa, vanilla and coffee merge with the fruity concentration to create an endless final. After eighteen months in French Allier barriques and a further twenty months in the bottle, Roccato is more than just a Supertuscan – it is living proof that the terroir speaks the most impressive language.
