“Cinciorosso” Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
In the hills of Panzano, in the heart of Chianti Classico, Valeria Viganò and Luca Orsini have been realising their vision of sustainable viticulture for over thirty years. On thirty hectares of organically certified land between 400 and 450 metres above sea level, they produce Cinciorosso – the charming "little brother" of the Le Cinciole family. The extremely inviting Rosso Toscana IGT combines 70% Sangiovese with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah and 5% Merlot. The grapes come from younger vineyards on the estate, where the Mediterranean climate and the well-draining Galestro soils create ideal conditions. Fermentation takes place traditionally with wild yeasts in cement tanks, followed by gentle ageing, also in concrete – a process that preserves the lively fruitiness and freshness of the vintage.

“Le Cinciole” Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
In 1991, Luca and Valeria Orsini gave up their work in Milan to produce wine in Tuscany. Their winery comprises 10 hectares of south-east facing vineyards in Panzano and the wines have been certified organic since 2000. This outstanding Annata opens discreetly on the nose with subtle scents of cherry blossom, heather and roses. On the palate, it is decidedly red-fruited with redcurrants and raspberries, embraced by finely structured, powdery and persistent tannins. It has a lovely energy and above all lets the true charm of Sangiovese shine through. A real high-flyer in terms of authenticity every year! SUPERIORE.DE

!["Aluigi" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO)]()
“Aluigi” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO)
A tribute to Luigi, Valeria's father, without whose support the life project of Valeria Viganò and Luca Orsini in Panzano would never have been realised. Aluigi embodies the highest level of the art of Sangiovese from Le Cinciole – only 4,000 bottles are produced annually from the single vineyard "Campo ai Peri". This Gran Selezione comes from organically cultivated vineyards at an altitude of 440 metres, where south-west-facing vines are rooted in the characteristic Galestro soil over sandstone. The traditionally dense planting of 9,000 vines per hectare and the cool, high-altitude climate give the wine its characteristic elegance and complexity. Vinification follows the original principles of the estate: hand-picking and careful selection of the grapes, spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in cement tanks for four weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 24 months in French oak barrels of 25 hectolitres, followed by a further year in concrete and twelve months of bottle ageing.

!["Camalaione" Rosso Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2018 (BIO)]()
“Camalaione” Rosso Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2018 (BIO)
A bold experiment that became a success story: In 2000, Valeria Viganò and Luca Orsini ventured into international grape varieties and created Camalaione, a Supertuscan that expresses the special terroir of Panzano in every bottle. This organically certified cuvée of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah and 15% Merlot impressively demonstrates the Orsinis' conviction that the unique interplay of soil and climate can be found in every wine, regardless of the grape variety. The grapes come from the estate's oldest vineyards, where an extreme vine density of 9,000 vines per hectare ensures natural competition and each plant produces no more than 500 grams of grapes. This concentration is also reflected in the exceptional quality of the vintage. Vinification is carried out using traditional methods: spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in Liters oak barrels, which act as small open fermentation vats and allow regular hand pressing. After fermentation, the wine matures for around 24 months in French barriques, followed by at least twelve months of bottle ageing.

!["Petresco" Rosso Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2019 (BIO)]()
“Petresco” Rosso Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2019 (BIO)
The crown jewel of Le Cinciole bears a name that reveals its origins: Petresco, derived from the stony soils of this special single vineyard that Valeria Viganò and Luca Orsini planted over twenty years ago at an altitude of 470 metres. Here, where the Sangiovese vines are optimally positioned above the Panzano valley, one of the region's most exceptional Supertuscans is produced year after year. The 2019 epitomises the estate's uncompromising philosophy: only the very best grapes, hand-picked and carefully selected, find their way into this masterpiece. Spontaneous fermentation in cement tanks at a maximum temperature of 28 degrees preserves the original power of the Sangiovese before the wine completes its malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques. The Petresco rests for twenty-four months in a sophisticated combination of large barrels and barriques – a balanced blend that gives the wine depth without masking its original elegance. A further year in cement vats and at least twelve months of ageing in the bottle complete the development of this exceptional Sangiovese.

Since the purchase of the estate in 1991, the owners have invested a lot in the renewal of the vineyards with better clones. At the same time they have changed the cultivation of the vineyards to environmentally friendly methods. Since 2002 the farm has been certified according to the CE regulation for organic farming. Luca and Valeria have chosen to cultivate almost exclusively Sangiovese on their land. Both are convinced that "only this autochthonous variety can be true Chianti Classico". The Latvian soils above a massive rocky base are particularly suitable for growing the dominant grape variety. In order to preserve the authenticity of the grapes, the vines are aged in wooden barrels to a lesser extent.
The two historical wines produced at Azienda Le Cinciole are the Chianti Classico "Le Cinciole" and the Chianti Classico Riserva "Petresco". The former contains a very low percentage of Canaiolo and is aged mainly in medium-sized barrels of summer oak. The Riserva, which matures in small barriques, is obtained from a selection of the finest Sangiovese grapes from the best sites. For the "Camalaione", a plot of land has been specially created with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. According to the estate owners, this wine should also reflect the special terroir of Panzano. SUPERIORE.DE
"The location ... in conjunction with the methods of vineyard management, which are carefully adapted to the terroir, result in plants that reflect this environment in a way that is as authentic as it is unique. Gambero Rosso 2010
