The Pianodario vineyard is situated at an average altitude of 775 metres above sea level, between the hamlet of Montelaguardia and Randazzo. It comprises approximately 8 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and date back up to 40,000 years.

A bright, translucent ruby colour with brick-red highlights. The nose is focused and multi-layered: wild raspberry, dried orange peel, iron, undergrowth and a subtle smokiness unfold with increasingly cool precision. On the palate, the Pianodario feels tighter and more angular than its Sciaranuova counterpart – with firm, almost chalky tannins, cool fruit and a distinct stony minerality. The acidity is lively, the finish long, tart and characterised by impressive linearity. Pianodario is a wine of great gravitas – uncompromising, expressive and endowed with that quiet authority found only in wines that are entirely subservient to their terroir.
