The Pianodario parcel is located at an average altitude of 775 metres above sea level between the hamlet of Montelaguardia and Randazzo. It covers an area of around 8 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and are up to 40,000 years old.

Light, translucent ruby colour with brick-red reflections. The nose is focussed and multi-layered: wild raspberry, dried orange peel, iron, undergrowth and fine smokiness unfold with increasingly cool precision. On the palate, the Pianodario is firmer and more angular than its counterpart from Sciaranuova - with grippy, almost chalky tannins, cool fruit and a noticeable stony minerality. The acidity is lively, the finish long, tart and characterised by impressive linearity. Pianodario is a wine of great seriousness - uncompromising, expressive and endowed with that quiet authority that only wines that are completely subordinate to their terroir display.
