Terra di Monteverro is the estate's finely composed second wine, but in terms of expression, fidelity to its origins and depth, it is far more than that. It comes from the stony, coastal slopes near Capalbio in the southern Maremma - a region that was characterised by a long, warm summer in 2021 with moderate peaks and cool nights in September. The climatic balance allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot grape varieties, which were harvested and vinified parcel by parcel, to ripen perfectly.

In the glass, the 2021 is a dark ruby colour with a violet rim. The nose is clear and complex: ripe blackcurrants, blackberries, liquorice, mocha and a fine Mediterranean herbal spice. Powerful yet polished on the palate - with juicy fruit, elegant acidity and perfectly integrated tannins. The finish is long, precise and characterised by mineral freshness. Terra combines the warmth of the Maremma with the rigorous finesse of a classic Bordeaux style - a wine of remarkable depth, with a clear signature and great ambition. SUPERIORE.DE

"As I have often written, the Terre di Monteverro is a great wine value for me, as it offers a complex and yet somewhat more accessible drinking pleasure at a high level. A top second wine. It comes onto the market four years after the harvest. 18 months in barrique, 50% of which is new, around 45% used, the rest in concrete egg. Radiant bouquet with red and blueberry fruit, fine smoky and tobacco notes, fresh plum and spicy notes. Extremely juicy and polished on the palate again, quite tightly meshed with a creamy tannin texture, a little more blueberry than the Grand Vin and even a little more floral at the moment.
