    Vigna Andrea is the centrepiece of Clelia Romano's work – a single-vineyard Taurasi, grown at an altitude of 500 metres on limestone and clay-rich soils near Lapio. Not a 'monumental' Taurasi, but a wine of profound intensity, dignity and ageing potential – a unique wine that rewards patience and interprets Aglianico in its finest form. A great southern Italian wine, far removed from any exaggeration, yet full of depth and substance.

    In the glass, a deep, dark ruby colour with a purplish rim. The bouquet is complex and exudes a cool, refined elegance: black cherry, violets, eucalyptus, graphite and a subtle hint of cedarwood and tobacco leaves. On the palate, it is dense and powerful, with robust tannins, yet at the same time elegant and fresh. The ageing is noticeable but perfectly integrated. In the long finish: balsamic notes, herbs, smoke and an impressive mineral character that beautifully showcases the volcanic terroir. SUPERIORE.DE

    "The 2020 Taurasi Andrea announces its presence from a metre away, as an explosion of musky blackberries, sage and floral undergrowth bursts from the glass. On the palate, it is surprisingly juicy, with liquid violet notes and a depth of tart wild berries accompanied by a piquant acidity. The finish is seductively fresh, whilst the palate craves more and subtly grippy tannins mingle with a hint of tart citrus.
