Archineri Bianco comes from a small, high-altitude single vineyard in the Contrada Rampante – one of the most renowned cru sites on Etna. The ungrafted vines, some of which are over 100 years old, are rooted at an altitude of 850 metres in barren, stony lava soil with north-eastern exposure. This extreme location ensures an extended vegetation period, pronounced day-night fluctuations and a precise, almost razor-sharp aroma spectrum. The single-varietal Carricante is selectively harvested by hand, fermented spontaneously in stainless steel and then matured on the fine lees for several months.

Pale straw yellow in the glass with silvery reflections – a play of light like early morning on the volcanic slopes. The aroma is taut and complex: lemon zest, green almonds, salted lemon, fresh pineapple, white peach, crushed chalk and a hint of smoke. The typical Etna note of damp stone and cool ash adds depth. The palate is taut, salty and mineral and carried by a linear acidity structure. No hint of fat, no breadth – instead clarity, texture and an almost alpine freshness. The finish is long, vibrant and characterised by a subtle, citrusy astringency. A Grand Vin of Etna that understands Carricante not just as a grape variety, but as the narrator of a terroir.
