The grapes for Prunotto's highly attractive Barbaresco come from long-standing contract plots in Treiso and Neive. The grapes are harvested selectively by hand, the lots are destemmed separately and fermented in stainless steel; the maceration time is around eight days at controlled temperatures. Malolactic fermentation is completed before winter. The wine matures for around a year in large oak barrels of various sizes – deliberately designed for balance, texture and expression of origin.

Intense garnet colour with a lively core in the glass. Complex and fine on the nose: red cherry, pomegranate and rosehip, plus dried roses, sweet spices, a hint of cedar and cool, stony-mineral accents. The palate is full, yet silky: the juicy, red-fruity centre is supported by crystal-clear acidity and tightly woven, ripe tannins; the big wood remains discreetly in the background as a textural polish. The finish is long and precise, with a spicy-balsamic aftertaste. An aristocratic yet accessible Barbaresco that convincingly brings the elegance of the house and the clarity of the vintage to the glass – with outstanding potential for a long, harmonious development.
