Terre Brune: A monument to the art of Sardinian viticulture, borne by the year 2020, which wonderfully captured the essence of the island in its balance between heat and night-time equalisation. For Terre Brune, this meant a late harvest accompanied by cool nights. The result: maturity in harmony with freshness, expressive and enriching. Incidentally, the 2020 vintage was a gift of ripeness everywhere in southern Sardinia. Warm spells were balanced out by Atlantic breezes and the grapes remained healthy and aromatic. The late harvest ensured a rich, but never overripe concentration – ideal conditions for a wine with lively acidity and body in harmony.

The basis for the winery's flagship wine is provided by old Carignano vines (95%), supplemented by a pinch of Bovaleddu (5%), on loamy-sandy, chalky soil in the salty breeze of the Sulcis terraces. The vines defy wind, heat and drought with stoic elegance, their strength lies in the terroir. After traditional, temperature-controlled fermentation, Terre Brune matures for 16-18 months in barriques, followed by a year in the bottle – a careful ageing process that combines structure and harmony.

Deep ruby red in the glass with a violet rim, like shadows on granite. The nose opens with earthy depth: ripe cherries, dried plums, overlaid with laurel, tobacco, cinnamon and delicate liquorice. The palate experiences an impressive combination of power and suppleness: dense, multi-layered fruit, carried by elegant, ripe tannins. The minerality creates tension, the spicy length culminates in a majestic final – confident, deep and lasting.
