This exceptional Recioto was matured for 6 years in Slavonian oak. Deep, dark ruby red in colour. In the nose, a beguiling extract of black cherry, dried flowers and a fine spiciness, with hints of liquorice and mint. On the palate, the fruit is uniform, extremely harmonious and concentrated to the point. Notes of gingerbread, dark chocolate and black cherry glide into an almost endless finish with an unforgettable aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE

"The Recioto della Valpolicella Classico 2015 has a dark ruby red colour with purple reflections and is youthfully restrained, so it needs to develop in the glass. On swirling and with time, a spicier bouquet develops with exotic spices, balsamic notes and a hint of incense, followed by dried blueberries and violet pastilles. On the palate, it is a pure seduction that lays over the palate like silk, revealing an abundance of ripe black cherries and forest fruits, emphasised by a core of blood orange. Even with a residual sugar content of 70 grams per Liters, it is difficult to perceive the 2015 as a sweet wine. Its zesty acidity provides harmony and finishes with a pleasantly bitter note and slightly grippy tannins that frame the experience so well." Vinous

"An Italian icon, the Quintarelli Giuseppe 2015 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico represents the estate's special blend of air-dried grapes. Production of this wine is rare and sporadic. The last time we saw it was in 2011. In terms of the 2015 vintage, it takes a little while before you recognize its sweetness. First impressions resolve around savory tones of Indian teak, resin and waxed furniture.
