Contrada Arrigo is located on the northern slope of Mount Etna at 610 metres above sea level, facing north-east with a view of the sea. Wine has been grown on this ancient soil since time immemorial. It is rich in organic substances and consists mainly of volcanic sand and lava stones from a volcanic eruption in 1180. Significant temperature fluctuations during the day and night lead to a slow ripening process that preserves freshness and minerality.

The uniqueness of this terroir lies in its special ability to store spring water more effectively than other soils, which promotes early and even growth of the vine. As the season progresses, the water reserve gradually diminishes, allowing the vine to focus its energy exclusively on ripening the grapes and abandoning any ambitions for further growth. This is why Arrigo is a "wise terroir". It only supports the vine when it is most useful to it. In addition, restraint is exercised, allowing the plant to focus its energy entirely on the grapes and the fruit. 3,800 numbered bottles were produced from 0.7 hectares of vines. SUPERIORE.DE
