    Verdeluce – green light – is the name of this wine that the Famiglia Cotarella dedicates to the hills around Orvieto, the area on the border between Lazio and Umbria that has always been synonymous with quality white wines. Riccardo and Renzo Cotarella, two of Italy's most influential Oenologist, founded Falesco in 1979 with the aim of revitalising forgotten grape varieties. Today, cousins Dominga, Marta and Enrica continue the legacy – with a modern style and an international outlook, without losing their roots in the territory.

    Verdeluce combines tradition and experimentation: Pinot Bianco brings elegance, Sémillon juicy structure, Grechetto Umbrian freshness. The grapes are harvested by hand, each variety at its optimum ripening point. The Pinot Bianco undergoes cold maceration, Sémillon is vinified reductively, Grechetto classically in white. The musts ferment separately at a controlled temperature of between thirteen and fifteen degrees for twelve to fourteen days. After blending, the cuvée matures for at least six months in stainless steel on the fine lees – for depth and complexity.

    Pale straw yellow in colour. Clear fruit on the nose: yellow pear, nectarine, grapefruit, cedar zest, warm notes of yellow flowers, a hint of beeswax. Precise, harmonious on the palate, with a delicate texture and balanced acidity. Fresh, enveloping, very elegant and clean. Long, slightly acidic, salty final.
