Dark ruby with purple reflections. In the appealing bouquet finely spiced underlaid ripe fruit, delicate blackberry, cassis and dried herbs. Fresh, elegant and very complex on the palate, with mineral and chalky nuances. As it progresses, silky tannins and a subtle, sweet fruit, very well structured and with a cherry-like finish. Blumeri is undisputedly the winery's red flagship and gets better with each year of bottle ageing. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2018 Poderi dei Blumeri, a blend of Merlot and Refosco, shows an inky purple color in the glass. Notes of black raspberry, blueberry and plum rise up, laced with hints of lavender, sage, Thai curry and mocha. Its textures are silky, playing host to ripe red and black berries with a contrasting mix of sweet spice and minerals, all enlivened by juicy acidity. A coating of fine tannin slowly settles in yet never gets in the way, closing with hints of violet pastille, mint and tobacco. While there is a bit of oak showing here, eighteen months in 50% new barrique, it only frames and accentuates the fruit of this seductive wine." Vinous

"A dense red that is generous and structured at the same time. Really delicious flavors of chocolate, light coffee, currants and berries. Iodine too. Heavy silk. Love the texture. Needs time to come together." James Suckling
