A Barbaresco from our own vineyards in Treiso and San Rocco Seno d'Elvio. Each parcel is harvested separately and fermented in stainless steel; gentle remontage, selective délestage, followed by calm malolactic fermentation. For the maturation phase, the winery uses large Slavonian barrels, supplemented by a smaller proportion of French oak – not to provide flavour, but to fine-tune the texture and balance. Thanks to stable summer weather and cool nights in autumn, 2020 produced fully ripe, healthy harvestwith a well-proportioned acidity line.

Brilliant garnet colour in the glass with delicate rim brightening. Finely characterised and polyphonic on the nose: Marasca cherry and redcurrant, plus rosehip, dried roses, a hint of bergamot and delicate herbs (thyme blossom, myrtle). Underpinned by hints of cedar wood, liquorice and a cool, stony-chalky tone. On the palate, the attack is slender and precise, then with an increasingly juicy centre: the red-fruity aromas appear focused, carried by a lively, straight acidity. The tannin is silky, finely grained and yet with grip – tactile, but never harsh. The wood remains in the background and mainly adds lustre and calm to the texture. Long final with a saline-mineral flavour, a hint of citrus oil and fine spice. A Barbaresco with a crystal-clear style: transparent, contoured and full of inner tension. It already shows a lot of grace today and at the same time has substance for careful development over many years. SUPERIORE.DE
