SP68 Rosso is perhaps Arianna Occhipinti's most direct expression of soil, grape variety and philosophy. Frappato and Nero d'Avola come from organically cultivated plots on calcareous and sandy soils at an altitude of 280 to 290 metres. Fermented with natural yeasts in concrete, matured for six months in cement tanks, bottled unfiltered – no intervention, no make-up, pure essence.

Medium ruby red in the glass with transparent depth. The aroma is clear and lively: ripe cherry, wild strawberry, dried herbs, iron and a hint of rose petals. Structured on the palate, dancing and lively, fine-grained tannins, precise acidity, animating juiciness. A wine with vigour and clarity, its energy comes from its depth, not from its weight. "Named after the road that runs past the estate, this turns the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG recipe on its head with 70% Frappato and 30% Nero d'Avola, vinified in concrete tanks. Vibrant dark cherry and blackberry aromas dance with light herbal touches, while the super-succulent palate is deep, sapid and fruity, with a lick of salinity and a long finish that hints at juicy blood orange."
