    The grapes come from the historic MGA Bussia in Monforte d'Alba – steep, well-ventilated slopes between 300 and 450 metres, characterised by calcareous marl with clay veins and sandy inclusions. The year 2020 brought a stable summer without extreme peaks, clear nights during the ripening phase and a calm, dry autumn allowed for a late, precise harvest. The result is healthy, fully ripe phenolic grapes with bright fruit and balanced acidity – the ideal basis for a transparent yet powerful Barolo.

    Bright garnet colour with a ruby red core. On the nose, Bussia 2020 shows a multi-layered, cool depth: Marasca cherry, red plum and pomegranate, with dried roses, liquorice and white pepper on top; a graphite-iron and stony-mineral undertone lends contour. Both sinewy and silky on the palate: the fruit remains crystal clear and precise, supported by bright acidity and a tightly woven, fine-grained tannin that has grip without weighing it down. The wood remains in the background as a subtle lustre. Very long, salty-mineral finish with hints of blood orange zest and balsamic herbal spice. Great! SUPERIORE.DE
