Albe! ... the poetic name of this Barolo refers to the sky at sunrise, as experienced from the estate's various terroirs: Coste di Vergne, Fossati and La Volta. These high-altitude vineyards each produce slightly different dawns, which is symbolically reflected in the harmony of the cuvée. The grapes come from young but mature Nebbiolo vines and combine the nuances of each plot into a fluid, elegant expression. The grapes were carefully hand-harvested; each plot was vinified separately and only blended into the cuvée in the spring before bottling. Ageing takes place over approximately 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels (40–75 hl) with annual racking – a process that fosters depth and harmony.

Visually, the Albe presents a clear garnet red colour with a sparkling cherry-red hue. The nose entices with a finely structured bouquet: ripe raspberry, dried rose petals, sweet spice and an elegant hint of rosehip create subtle tonal contrasts. This floral elegance is complemented by herbaceous freshness, red cherry fruit and subtle graphite notes. On the palate, Albe displays impressive finesse: silky, well-integrated tannins and a crisp, fresh acidity carry the flavours as if woven into an atmospheric tapestry. The complexity of the different morning orientations becomes apparent: mineral clarity blends with floral depth and a fruity finish. The finish is long, balanced and characterised by a palpable sense of tranquillity – a mature yet lively Barolo that reflects its terroir, craftsmanship and vintage as if in a mirror. SUPERIORE.DE

"The exceptionally versatile and charming Barolo Albe reflects the character of a hot, dry vintage and captivates with concentrated Nebbiolo aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and rose. The 'Albe' cuvée takes its name from the sunrises visible from the high-altitude vineyards from which this blend originates. The grapes come from various plots across the Barolo region to ensure balance and complexity even in warmer years. These are complemented by earthy aromas and a hint of sweet orange. Dark, ripe fruit gives way to powerful tannins and a rich concentration with sufficient body to make this wine a superb Barolo for short- to medium-term enjoyment." Wine Advocate

"A strong graphite aroma introduces this red, along with flavors of cherry, blackberry, violet, juniper and eucalyptus. Juicy and smooth, with a counterpoint of tannins lining the finish. Shows terrific harmony and finesse. Long aftertaste." Wine Spectator
