The name "Der Wal" refers to the Tyrrhenian Sea, which is visible from the hills of Suvereto and whose breeze sweeps daily across the San Lorenzo vineyard in the single vineyard of the same name. What is produced here carries the essence of this sea within it. 50% Vermentino, 50% Viognier – a meeting of two Mediterranean characters on loamy-sandy, slightly calcareous soil, 18-year-old vines, Guyot training. Three months on the fine lees. What ultimately ends up in the bottle is one of those white wines that you don't analyse, but simply drink.

Pale straw yellow with intense golden highlights. On the nose: wisteria, lime, acacia and broom – followed by cedarwood, lemon balm, wild thyme and Mediterranean scrub. Peach and honeydew melon add depth. On the palate, it is full-bodied, fresh and pleasantly citrusy, with a lively bite and a finish that leaves a lingering hint of Mediterranean herbs. Direct, clear, irresistible – the Tyrrhenian Sea in a glass. SUPERIORE.DE

"Pale straw yellow. On the nose, yellow fruit, reminiscent of nectarine, with hints of lemon zest, liquorice and a sea breeze. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with a precise acidity profile and final lingering, slightly salty final." Falstaff
