Fuori Misura – beyond all measure. The name is no mere flourish. It is a description. This Rosato is not made in the same way as other rosés. It is not a by-product, nor the result of a separate decision. It is a saignée – a bleeding – from the very same fermentation vats in which the Chianti Classico, the Riserva Le Baròncole and the Percarlo are being produced at the same time. The must is drawn off 12 to 24 hours after crushing. To this are added 10% freshly pressed grapes, which macerate for up to 12 days. Sangiovese, Canaiolo – the very soul of the estate, seen in a different light.

In the glass, the Fuori Misura shows why it bears its name: the colour is deep, almost red, far beyond the pale and familiar Provençal rosé norm. This wine has substance because it is made from the same grapes as the estate's great reds. It is not 'out of the ordinary' because it seeks to stand out – but simply because it does not fit into the usual category. The bouquet offers pomegranate, wild cherry, herbs, earth, a floral note and a hint of spice. Lively and concentrated on the palate, with good structure and a long, dry final. "The 2025 Rosato Toscana Fuori Misura is fabulous. This is the first vintage in which about a third of the fruit was picked and vinified as a light red wine as opposed to all saignée, which was the custom in the past. Crushed red berry fruit, chalk, mint, white pepper and slate are beautifully delineated. This is an especially fine edition of the Rosato.
