    The Nebbiolo Giàrborina comes from one of La Morra's historic Nebbiolo vineyards – calcareous-clay Barolo soils, sharing the same geological character as the estate's great crus, from which the Altare Barolos are produced. The difference: this Nebbiolo is not a Barolo. It bears the Langhe DOC label, free from the rules of the grand appellation, and showcases the grape variety in its more approachable, youthful form. 100% Nebbiolo, vinified in the same way as Larigi and La Villa: 3 to 4 days in rotary fermenters, followed by 18 months in 100% new French barriques.

    What changes is the character. The Nebbiolo brings tannic structure, complexity, an almost austere rigour in its youth, and a longevity that sets it apart from Larigi and La Villa. Those who love Larigi for its warmth and La Villa for its balance will find in Giarborina the third pole: the most structured, deepest and most promising wine in AltareLanghe Rosso trilogy.

    A brilliant garnet red. On the nose, notes of cherry, roses, spices, a hint of tar and undergrowth. On the palate, it is firm with precise tannins, displaying the characteristic freshness of Nebbiolo and a long, mineral final. SUPERIORE.DE
