    Pinot Blanc is not a fad in Terlan. It is the foundation. The grape variety around which cellar master Rudi Kofler has been thinking for decades is Pinot Bianco – and no other place in Italy produces it as clearly, as long-lived, as unmistakably as these slopes. The vineyards lie at 350 to 900 metres, on steep to very steep slopes on Monte Tschöggl – higher and cooler than most other Terlan parcels. Quartz porphyry, hand-picked, gentle pressing, slow fermentation in steel, 6–7 months on the fine lees. The 2024 vintage was challenging: a wet spring, heavy yield losses, smaller berries – and therefore more concentrated fruit.

    Pale straw yellow with a greenish tinge, crisp apple and pear notes, lime and camomile on the nose. Power and tension on the palate, salty minerality, long finish. Precision that lingers. SUPERIORE.DE

    "South Tyrol produces arguably the best Pinot Blanc in the world, and this dazzling example is a perfect introduction to the local style. After fermentation and maturation on the lees in stainless steel, the result is a white wine with jasmine aromas, still closed flavours of pear and yellow peach and a slight waxy component. Balanced and with a nice acidity, it is quite fleshy but not quite open yet, with nectarine and floral flavours at the moment. A really good length, with the classic stony, savoury finish." Decanter
