Della Bastonaca is the quintessence of the COS philosophy, grown on the historic estate in Bastonaca near Vittoria – where up to 75-year-old Alberello vines of Nero d'Avola and Frappato stand on calcareous red clay, criss-crossed by quartz veins and the constant presence of Mediterranean air. Biodynamics is not a statement here, but a lived practice – for decades, each vintage has been vinified in harmony with nature at the right rhythm.

Bright ruby colour with a garnet-red rim. Ripe raspberries, cherries, orange zest and a hint of rosehip on the nose, with fine notes of leather, tobacco, black tea and ironstone. Clearly contoured on the palate, with a silky texture, supporting acidity and subtly integrated tannins. The fruit remains present, but never overpowering – an interplay of depth, tension and restrained noblesse. The finish lingers for a long time, with salty minerality and that idiosyncratic elegance that only great terroirs with a consistent signature can produce. SUPERIORE.DE
