    Vietti has given the Colli Tortonesi its own distinctive voice with no fewer than three interpretations of Timorasso: the classic Derthona, the single-vineyard Boscogrosso from Monleale – and, as the freshest and most immediate expression in the trio, this Piccolo Derthona. The name is a nod to Derthona, the ancient Roman name for Tortona, whilst the addition of "Piccolo" signifies its role as the most accessible expression of the grape variety in the range.

    The grapes come from the estate's youngest vineyards in the municipalities of Vho and Monleale. harvest is carried out by hand in several stages to ensure that each grape is picked at optimum ripeness. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks without skin contact at 12 to 16°C, deliberately without malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for four months on the fine lees in the same tanks in which it was fermented.

    A clear straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights. The bouquet is fresh, floral and citrusy. On the palate, it is dry, lively and mineral-spicy, with medium body, pronounced acidity and excellent balance. SUPERIORE.DE
