    A Barbaresco of exceptional complexity. Rich in tannins and structured thanks to the chalky composition of the soil, it nevertheless retains a characteristic freshness and minerality that makes it a favourite with connoisseurs.

    The Barbaresco Montefico Riserva 2020 is a jewel of a wine. Freshly cut flowers, minerals, crushed rocks, rose petals and lavender are all finely cut. As always, the Montefico is taut and angular in style. Its sense of transparency is simply beguiling. Sage, mint and sweet pipe tobacco are some of the nuances that linger. Montefico is a Barbaresco for lovers of tauter red wines, which it will delight. It combines the fruitiness of Montestefano with the vigour of Ovello. SUPERIORE.DE

    "Two outstanding wines from the 2020 vintage are Montefico and Asili. The 2020 Barbaresco Riserva Montefico comes from a vineyard that is far from the warm air that flows through the Tanaro river valley and is located in an amphitheatre. It is a beautiful vineyard overlooking the village of Neive and with active limestone soils. The wine is particularly compact in texture and has a pronounced herbal note with dried rosemary and lavender, giving it a Mediterranean or botanical flavour.
